HBO Max Removed Even More CN Shows
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- On the night of October 1, HBO Max removed a handful of EVEN MORE Cartoon Network series. Chowder, Gumball, Regular Show, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, and Powerpuff Girls 2016 were all pulled from the service that night without any prior warning. I’m surprised they even removed popular shows like Gumball from the service, that’s one of Warner Bros Discovery’s cash cows!
At first there was a little bit of an overreaction to the situation, but it settled down once people realized every show removed is available to watch on Hulu and they have plentiful CN content over there. No purges or tax write-offs thankfullly...
On the bright side, the official Cartoon Cartoons UA-cam channel has been drip-feeding uploads of full episodes of Foster's Home and Camp Lazlo free to watch! I’m not sure if they are only uploading a handful of select random episodes of a few series or if they actually plan on releasing every episode, but this is still a step in the right direction! The videos are also PAL-pitched, but I can't really complain since it's free after all.
The whole situation is really stupid if you think about it. Last year CEO David Zaslav made a statement he wanted the HBO Max service to better cater to a kid demographic, yet they proceed to continuously remove shows aimed at younger audiences and then gave up because of his own doings.
Sorry for the lack of uploads in the past week, I have a big South Park video planned for later this week! - Фільми й анімація
I miss the days when Cartoon Network was an actual TV station. Even I miss HBO Max when it first came out and had tons of old Cartoon Network shows from my childhood, then it became my favorite streaming service. Nowadays not so much because they keep removing the good shows, I hardly watch anything on it. The best way to get your favorite cartoons is physical media I grew up collecting them when I was a kid, I loved collecting things.

HBO Max continues to treat CN shows like trash it's basically how the animation purge of Max continues
Zaslav is Killing Warner Bros.'s Identity into a Reality Show Company.
Not really, he's just killing Warner Bros
@@djstarkidmashups8536 Yep.
In hindsight, it was obvious this was gonna happen from his background
Nothing makes sense about this
They’re a GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT company, they’re not supposed to ONLY make reality shows.
That's the reason why I wish Cartoon Network would release more of their shows in a complete series box set like The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, Code Name Kids Next Door, I'm not trying to make excuses but maybe for some reason they couldn't get some episodes to work on DVD. But at least Cartoon Network released complete series some of their shows in a complete series box like Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Original Teen Titans, Dexter's Laboratory, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and although you could get most of Ben 10 on DVD, but I think it would be more convenient if we could buy it in a complete series box set.
@@mr.noneofyourbusiness4176 I agree
Really would take some kind of miracle for that to happen.
@@kellychuang8373 I agree with that, and you would have to be lucky to the first season of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy for cheap. Although you could get season 1 disc 1 in the hall of fame collection.

If Cartoon Network was never owned by AT&T under the hands of David zaslav to form WBD, majority of the shows would never be treated like this.

What's funny about this is that I saw a promo for HBO Max yesterday that had characters from Gumball, Regular Show, and Steven Universe in it. Even the Power Puff Girls made an appearance in their modern designs from the reboot. Imagine the people who wanted to download HBO Max to watch those shows only to find out they can't anymore.
Seriously? Were they trolling with that promo?
If you didn't know, the Cartoon Cartoons UA-cam channel used to be the Boomerang UA-cam channel until they changed it
The fact that HBO Max is listed as litterally the most expensive streaming service along with ESPN+ is just unbelievable. Espcially on how they continue the CN purge.
At this point, Adult Swim is my only reason to be on Max.
Mark my words.. if Superjail ever goes, I'm ending my subscription.
🏴☠️
What about HBO or some of their other stuff?
Right now Jellystone and Smiling Friends are the only shows keeping me from ending my subscription. I'm devastated Chowder got pulled.
Luckily they have Chowder on Hulu!
@@KylerWulff I've been on a fence ever since KND and China, IL were taken off.

“I’ll remove a THOUSAND shows before I let this company die, and I’ll cancel any projects THAT GET IN MY WAY!!!”
Physical Media is king!
Indeed we need more sets released asap
Don’t give up Cartoon Network has released the complete series of some shows on DVD. Like almost all of Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and I wish Cartoon Network would release all of their shows in a complete series box set.
I think boycotting max needs to start happening in order for these shows to come back or renew the streaming rights immediately
With times like that now it really is going downhill.
Honestly, the only way to properly watch these shows is to pirate or physical copies. Streaming has just turned into cable, unwatchable, and full of unwanted ads.
@@lizzielewis2572 Not surprised if that hits the mark there and also have to be careful especially in these times can't give away too much since who knows what could be watching around.

Torrent the shows, add the purged to the crew, and... who knows what we're gonna do with the loot? At this point, Adult Swim should take over CN 24/7 and write off all the kids shows in favor of AS originals

Gumball, Regular Show, and Steven Universe are still available on Cartoon Network, but this removal of max is clearly not common sense.

In the next 5+ years, streaming services like Max will become as obsolete and expensive as DVDs and cable.
WBD can't afford the shows. The way they negotiated streaming in the recent strikes has studios having to pay more for rights & residuals for older shows. People think WBD have a lot of money but like paramount they are closer to bankruptcy than ever. The creators and actors don't care, they want more & more money for their work. It's also why tv seasons are shorter, that's the consequences of striking in a horrible economy.
Now I wonder about how Disney might merge with Cartoon Network since Hulu is letting their time to shine? Heck, imagine if the Disney animated show made it to Cartoon Network.
