  • Australia's biggest steelmaker is backing a so-called ageing fossil fuel blast furnace to the tune of more than one billion dollars as the country moves down the path of the renewable transition. BlueScope CEO Mark Vassella says low-carbon steelmaking is an exciting prospect but estimates it's at least ten years away. It comes as the company's full-year net profit fell 64% to $1.01 billion. Investors will receive a final dividend of 25 cents per share.
