My display just went out. At first it was a screen full of colored lines and then it went black. Disconnected the battery like you said and it worked like a charm! Thanks!!
This works!!! I have a 2021 dodge ram, 1500 Laramie. We had a big thunderstorm overnight, the next morning my screen was black. I undid my positive cable to my battery put it back on and boom. My screen is back on.
Dodge said few years back the BCM makes the power and ground connection to the stereo head unit wen u start the trk. There was a glitch in the programming that let the power connect a fraction of a second before the ground so it things there a fault and that stopped it from coming on. Sounds like that’s happening here. My 15 ram 3500 did it day one wen I bought the trk but dealer couldn’t replicate the problem. It still happens every few months but few key cycles and it straightens up.
So we were ready to do what you said and ours came back on. We think maybe it got to hot with temperatures in the 100 and humidity just as high. It is a stupid computer. Thank you for your information!
This stupid shit happened to me for the first time yesterday 6/24. I turned it off and on serval times to see if it would come back and it did not. So I just kept drive and about 5mins later it came back.. my truck is a Ram 2019 1500. Big Horn. this will be the last Ram I ever buy again, the company has no loyalty to it's customers what so ever. As long as we're talking about issues with Ram trucks, keep an eye on that back window or the light on the roof it's probably been leaking water on you and that's the reason for that funky smell (you might have).. Or take a look at the oil pan, it's most likely rusting through. Ram wont cover erosion of their oil pans even if you have the best extended warranty, the dealer actually said to me; "how do you know it's not rusting on the inside? for us to warranty it we'd need to know that".. Can't make this stuff up. My old 2011 ram, my brothers 2017 and my 2019 all have rotted oil pans, Myself and my wife drive the same roads everyone else does in NJ yet my wife's Volvo doesn't have a rotted oil pan and it's the same year as my truck. Do you constantly get a smell of anti freeze every time you run the truck, well it's because they use shitty plastic/ aluminum radiators, the ends of the radiators are plastic with only a thin little rubber seal on the inner side pressing against the aluminum center part of the radiator, but for some of you it may be the notorious leaky heater core. Have you experienced broken exhaust bolts before the cat yet? don't worry it's coming and when they break the dealer wants $300 to replace two little bolts. How about the location of the emergency break right next to the pedal adjustment, yeah it's fun when your driving and you need a little adjustment so you reach down to press the pedal switch and you press the emergency break instead. How about all those ROUND dials, ya go to put up the fan and you end up turning the volume up on your stereo and those dials have rubber around them on a hot day they get sticky. How about that passenger window switch, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Have you changed your own oil yet? ya better get lots of rags because the oil goes everywhere, they took away the oil gutter tray. How many times does the gas fill click off at the pump, the dude has to come back to the car like three times to get it to work. How about that rubberized bed liner, fill a cooler with ice and food then try to slide it to the tailgate without throwing out your back, whos' the dipshit who came up with that one? if you don't want shit to slide use a tiedown. One last thing I forgot to mention, the notorious ram Hemi tick, the cam shafts are soft and they wear out ahead of the rest of the engine causing loud lifter tap noise. Ram 1500 2019 SUCKS BIG HORN DICK . Not sure what truck ill be purchasing next but I can truly say it wont be a Ram product. Sorry for the Extra BS LOL :)
@@jerrycovart2956 thanks👍🏻 but i know the difference between a leak and a lifter that slowly fills back up with oil. This Ram had a tick at 30,000 mil. And its worse now at 70. My next truck wont be a Ram. Going back to Chevy Meng! Hahah
A couple months ago my screen went black and disconnecting the battery for a few minutes worked. This time it didn't work. Interestingly enough I can still touch the controls on the screen, and it works, but I can't see the screen at all. Disconnecting it didn't work this time, but you did mention a fuse, I'll give it a shot
When you reconnect the battery, it gives you a basic radio control different from your regular touchscreen. I think it’s like blue colored letters after 24 hours or less go back to your multicolored normal screen.
Same with my charger but started with my Bluetooth randomly disconnecting. Then the uconnect started going in a boot loop. Now it doesnt even power up smh
Mine screen randomly takes about 10 minutes to start up when i put key in and start trucks . It’s very random but i can run ac , or radio while it’s in this black state . Then it will begin automatically just 5-10 min after I’m driving . Not sure why . Anyone else have this issue
Dude. Thank you so much! Mine had never done this in owning my truck for 3 1/2 years then the week I go to sell it to my father (it had sat for two weeks) it went black or would show up and not let me click “accept”. Did your fix and all is well now.

Push both knobs on your radio at the same time for 10 seconds. While ignition is on. It resets uconnect. I had to do this to my 2024 ram.

That tap noise can be a manifold bolt that snapped. It’s a common issue with Rams

Just in case that doesn't work, the fuse is located in the wire loom next to the brake booster
