The Calif. Zephyr in frigid Ft. Morgan on 04FEB2025

This morning's California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0555 MST (11 min. late). P42s #79 (wearing phase VII livery) and #63 provided the power to the 8-car consist that was brought to a stop with car 7 to the parking area platform for passenger service to 1 detraining passenger carrying a tot. Then 1 new patron boarded the coach car. With a last check, Mandy gave the high ball to the head end crew who in turn ramped up the amps to the traction motors moving the Zephyr west toward its next stop at Denver's Union Station.
My thanks, as always to the operating crew for the greetings this morning.
I think I mumbled the number 73, and the correct engine number is, of course, 79 for the leading engine.
