I"m so pleased he got the 'Kings' sendoff' that he deserves! He was a wonderful man and a more wonderful Footballer. He really was Something! Pleasant Journey!
As a teenager i went to every united game in london to see Law, Charlton and Best. Sir Bobby has always been my idol and even at age of 72 he stands apart, with Winston, as my greatest Englishmen. God bless the man and his family.
As an old bluenose. Stood outside old Trafford with my red pals to pay my respects to the great man. RIP. And thanks for some lovely memories of the beautiful game. ❤️💙
Surely, A Manchester Uniteds' greatest player who ever ever lived,I've been a United supporter since the age of 12,I'm now78yrs old,I've never know him to be out of form,an off day now and then, but what longevity in the first team,Can never be surpassed,I'm South Afrcan and followed United thru Tiger comics and British newspapers What a player and gentleman
My first ever game was Crystal Palace Vs Man Utd at Selhurst park in 1969, I was taken by cousin, I was 5 years old, the ground was packed, I was sat on a wall behind the goal, all I remember was my cousin saying, “That’s Bobby Charlton, That’s George best”. I’ve been to a thousand games since, what an introduction to live football aged 5, and what a legend Bobby Charlton, RIP.
Always a safe distance apart, we already knew that we had won even before the start, it was a relationship for the young and old, it's a story that was never told. Rest in peace and I'll see you in the next life.
The FA caused Munich. The FA were against English teams playing in Europe and told United they had better be back for that Saturday match and training ahead of it. So... United had to try to get back that Thursday night after re-fueling in Munich. Sod the FA.
It’s was The Football League that was against English teams playing in the European Cup and actually the FA were instrumental in getting Utd into the competition.
RIP Sir Bobby ❤
