The Young Bucks are a puzzling choice for Sting’s last match
they are the best most experienced tag in in aew , and sting himself said that he didnt want a singles mastch for his last match. now sounds more reasonable , i think Sting knows he cant really go in singles like he wanted to (much like kurt angle wanted). im sure it will be a good match.

Sting has not wrestled one singles match during his entire AEW comeback for a reason. People who watch/talk about wrestling miss obvious things these days. Sting has talked about not wanting singles matches in interviews. He's more comfortable in this role given his age.

Darby doesn’t even need to turn heel, he just has to say yes to Sting and they’re set.
I was expecting a bigger send off. This match feels less than that. This is probably a safe way for Sting to end his wrestling career and he's most likely all for it.

@@yagamifire7861 don’t get me wrong, if Sting wants a tag match, that’s fine. But anyone else would be better than the Bucks. That being said, talking like there’s no one for a singles match against Sting sheer stupidity. And at least Darby is safe in the ring. It really just comes off as if no one trusts Darby to be safe with a 64-year-old veteran.
New Jersey's Mike Chioda just have the best stories to tell: both in and outside of the ring (crazy road stories). I have nothing but respect for This Guy.

Apparently it was Sting's choice to do a match vs, The Young Bucks, after being in a 4 man tag match with them. So he is just getting exactly what he wants as a retirement match, and AEW is making it happen for him. Three young guys will do most of the work, and out on an insane match, and Sting will get his huge pop spots.

I feel like they should have done for sting what WWE did for Rick Flair leading up to WrestleMania 24 vs Shawn Michaels. Rick Flair was on a winning streak leading to that main event because Vince said if he loses he's FIRED and each match had us fans on the edge of our seats rooting for the nature boy all the way to WrestleMania and that beautiful ending with Shawn saying he loved him and he's sorry before delivering the final blow. They could do something like that but they really can't but could have Darby be his last opponent. Oooor Tony Khan can get his head out his azz and message hunter about having the undertaker be his last opponent... But I'm just a dreamer

Sting has NEVER wrestled a singles match in AEW, and he's made it clear he doesn't think he can put on a proper singles match. The Bucks are one of the greatest tag teams of the modern generation and arguably of all time. Sting and Darby are undefeated in every single tag match -- it's a great choice. The Bucks will sell their asses off for Sting and play the ultra heels leading up to the match.

I think you could easily book Sting's final match against Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship.
Samoa Joe and Sting have a storied past from their time in TNA together. Joe is a good enough worker to work around Sting's weaknesses at this point.
Sting can come out and challenge Samoa Joe and say that it's his last match. He wants to go out on his sword or go out on top.
Why not Darby though?

Sting won't be able to compete in a competitive singles match anymore. He's been in tag/multi man matched in AEW from the start. Let's not go overboard.

Bucks killed any interest I had. It's like making Rey Mysterio retire with his final match being against Marko Stunt when it should probably be Dominik.
Would have been curious to hear Chioda's views on the antics of referees like Aubrey (and even Bryce to a degree) who bounce around and mug more than the talent.
They say, 'The Young Bucks is the most safe worker'. That's probably the reason why Sting wanted his last match to be a tag team. Sting wants to have fun and wants to go out safe with the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks are great, I don't know why a lot of people hate them.
Well here's 10 reasons why nobody likes the Young Bucks.
1. They're boring as hell
2, They have no characters,
3. They can't cut promos
4. They do nothing but spam superkicks which ruins the credibility of the move
5. They don't look like stars, they look like college dorks imitating their fave wrestlers
6. They're giant ass marks for themselves,
7. They're both disrespectful pieces of shit
8, They don't care of their bodies, Seriously who's gonna take them seriously with those microwaved burrito bodies?
