While it's just an opinion, many believe that the quality of modern day football boots isn't what it used to be. In the case of Nike in particular, once upon a time, ALL of their top-end models were made in Italy! It was a feature of the brand and highlighted prominently on every pair. Since then, things have changed.
In today's video we take a closer look at the limited edition, made in Italy Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite! Crafted in Montebelluna, the same factory where the boots of some of the best players in the World are made, this unique version of the Legend 9 takes inspiration from the 2006 Legend 1 in white and blue, as worn by Andrea Pirlo as a part of Italy's World Cup winning squad! The quality is exceptional, and they feature some key differences from the regular version of the Legend 9, but are they actually better? I have tried them on now for 2 trainings and the alegria leather dosent dissapoint. Its super soft now and the touch is truly special

@@1704xxxxI have 3 pairs for these (2 FG one for playing one for collection and 1 AG) they all stain really badly especially the FG ones with grass stains leaving a horrible yellowish water stain that I have not been able to get rid of. The AG ones fare a bit better only getting mostly dirt stains but still can’t fully remove them. Have tried asking Nike on how to clean and maintain them with no luck tho.
One game on Astro and the sole plate on them is gone 😅
Curious why do you think the sole plate glue/construction would be weaker compared to usual tiempos/nike boots?
Especially since these are made in Italy and crafted with much more care?

I was lowkey gonna get these, but i realized all the foam pods on the normal 9s is better imo. Then imo the colorway could have been better if it was the blue running the whole boot and leaving the tongue white just the old school tiempo 4 colorway… oooof almost nike. Yet nice looking boots👍
I had a pair of pirlo merlot tiempos. They have the same leather if I’m not mistaken. I only used them for home games in college and they didn’t last me the season. Granted I didn’t use boot cream on them….
Bruno Fernandes wore these today instead of his usual Mercurials. Quite an interesting change, and I’ll be looking to see if he continues mid-week or whether he goes back to synthetics.

These are lightweight my Son wear's Future Z Lasertouch 1.3 an put the Tiempo's on VS Nottingham Forest U14. He done 23 mph an caused um havoc for pace, had to pull him down on one occasion because he was gone. "Speed boot's" vide an look the business floodlit night game mirror's soleplate just kicks. I think ppl are trying to compare the Hypervenom III GX to them an they set the bench mark, these are in their own Class 🔥🇮🇹

What are these like in rain/on a wet surface, does the water go through the upper as it is untreated? If so, would applying leather cream make them more waterproof?
They'll absorb more water than a treated leather upper for sure! In my experience, leather cream doesn't really help with "waterproofing" any upper, so I wouldn't anticipate that changing much at all.

What I love about your vids is that you're not afraid to say it as it is and that my friend is very comforting as a potential consumer. Just watched those Unisport suck-ups and every single aspect of their video about this cleat was "amazing, fantastic, blah blah blah" no hard core honest truth. Are they reviewing or praising? Keep up the good work man
Those guys are the worst. The fact that they mention that the leather is stiffer than expected until broken in and not up to par with the Hypervenom GX and on top of that complain about that the insole is too slippery to the point where you'd be better off replacing them is totally sucking up to Nike. Bunch of frauds.

Glad they went w the 7/8 tooling but honestly would’ve been SO much better w the 4 or 5 tooling 😮💨
@@GoodWillRacing I love the tiempo legend 5 and 6,man. Some of the most comfortable boots ever and the tooling maybe simple but it works and having an upper of the 7 or 9 with the tooling of the 5/6 would be awesome.

Son's had his from day one when they came out, they still Solid. Played on all surfaces, mainly grass now i do use a good leather cream SAPHIR RENOVATEUR with Mink oil based. They are stunning boot's to play in very comfortable Algeria wrapping around the foot, 2nd to none touch on the ball, lightweight speed an shooting passing. An you don't see any 14 yo kid's wearing them. My Son love's Leather started from a calf leather, then a Tech Craft Pack Mercurial Vapor XIII K leather. He wore them it his big toe popped out after a year out growing them lol. He has Puma Future Z 1.3 Lasertouch K leather an some synthetic Adidas F50 Adizero Ghosted Legends Pack for his boot bag.
What can I do to treat them so the untreated leather doesn’t absorb water or get a green hue do to wet grass?
Does anyone know if they are getting restocked? Or are they limited edition and Nike is not producing anymore pairs?

Long time subscriber here. I have a quick question for you regarding these Tiempo Legends MI
I'm normally a size 8 in football boots, but since I wanted these so bad I only managed to purchase a size 7.5.
The fit is a little snug, but nothing too crazy. My question is, do you think since they are leather will they stretch out to accommodate my foot overtime as if I were wearing a size 8?
I really don't want to return them, but I rather get my money back since they will probably just sit in my closet.

Hey Josh, I know normally FG on AG is a moon, but I see some people use the FG regular Tiempo Legend 9s and are so and so, would these completely tear up more due to the softer Alegria leather?
For sure. Tiempo isn’t good for AG ground the leather doesn’t last long unfortunately
Most likely, yes. Probably not a great choice for use on AG.

Josh! Thanks for the vid, and all of your content. Do you think that over time the leather will stretch a bit more than the regular treated leather? Potentially stretching so much that you could move a half size down? I’m a 9.5 in most everything like you but in my 2 pairs of tiempo legend 9s I felt better in a size 10 and it’s just slightly big. Your thoughts?
Probably should go true to size, without the foam pods in the the forefoot, your feet have a lot more room to breathe in these.
They will definitely stretch a little more. Whether or not they'll stretch enough in length though, that's really hard to say.
So regular Tiempo legend 9s fit better in a size 10 for you although you are 9.5 in most everything?
@@loganl4204 that’s correct. I went for the 9.5 in these particular tiempos and it was the right move. In the other versions of the boot the 10 is better

Personally, I don't see these being really valuable down the road. While limited, they made quite a few, and in multiple stud pattern variations.

Tiempo 9 academy. Turf ones run about a half size bigger than the FG variation. Puma future Z and Ultra as well

Hey Josh, I just got these and out of the box I noticed some large cracks on the soleplate, especially around the curves on the edges between the first and second set of conical studs. Is this somewhat normal with wearable finishes or is it a soleplate defect?
Probably just the finish but I’d check a little harder to truly see if it might be a crack in the plate. But odds are it’s just the chrome flaking off
Thanks, yea I think it’s just the finish but a bit hard to tell without seeing the soleplate underneath. The cracks are pretty thick though so hoping it’s not a real problem.
If it's just the chrome paint, it's fairly normal for it to show cracks from bending. It's just the paint and not the actual plastic soleplate.
Hey Josh, Thanks for the input! I’ve been looking at them pretty closely and the cracks definitely seem deeper than just the finish wearing off. My guess is that there was a manufacturing mistake when they applied the chrome and it cracked because it wasn’t sitting evenly on the lines of the sole plate, might explain why the cracks follow the curved lines and up the forefoot around the studs. I haven’t noticed it when on foot, only visually, so hopefully it’s just cosmetic.
