I'm sure people have commented on this a lot, but Alm's voice acting after he killed Rudolph is truly amazing. That "What have I done?" is heartwrenching.
Something else I'd like to note is that Nier Automata came out like a month before and 9S is also voiced by Kyle McCarley. It's very possible both characters were recorded at roughly the same time which is insane to me considering how fantastic both performances are
I actually had sent a Bow Knight to strike him from range, my main force was defending that chokepoint at the gate. Apparently the Bow Knight triggered his aggro though, cause he started coming for me. I just had Lukas, who was a Baron, tank him while my three Saints healed him and my Archers just shelled him.
Man I swear, seeing how they have reimagined this battle from the original game has made me love echoes for what it is. They've put so much emotion and suspense along with an amazing soundtrack and voice acting to show how much hard work was put into this moment. The development team has done an amazing job to make Fire Emblem Echoes a true gem within the whole entire franchise. I dont even know if I want another Fire Emblem game like this, I personally love how underrated Echoes is and would want to keep it that way. It makes me appreciate the game way more!
I think Alm's reaction to the fact that he committed patricide by killing Rudolf by first crying and then letting out a blood-curdling scream was much better than Ike's reaction to his dad dying in Path of Radiance. "Don't leave me! Father!"
@@KamuiProductsInc It was the first 3D FE and the first FE to utilize VA. So it gets some points for that. And some VAs weren't that bad. Greil's isn't that terrible. And Ike's gets better in Radiant Dawn. Mist and Elincia however... *Shudders* But yeah, Echoes implemented its voice acting beautifully.
My favorite part is that Rudolf could have just acted like he was fighting Alm... but he could not even act like he was going to kill Alm. He couldn't. For so long he did this act, but when facing Alm, he stalled and could not raise his arm to strike at his son even for show. With the background music and everything... perfect.
@kelseybolivar9910 I'd say it's more of Vader being so conflicted that it led to Luke besting him in a duel in episode 6. Anyone else at the level Luke was at and they would have been bodied by Vader. But his son? How could he kill the last remnant of his beloved wife. Some say ep 5 is the best but it may be the better movie but ep 6 was the better star wars movie.
This was probably the best orchestrated and best executed scenes in the whole fire emblem franchise. The depiction of Alm at the end in shadow with that baritone narrator really sealed it as being powerful.
@@yourconscience8018That much is true. As much as I'd like to honor Rudolf's last will about keeping his men alive if he falls, he unfortunately has the honor of having one of the best maps and themes in the whole game.
This was one of the saddest scenes in Echoes :'( I think Rudolf didn't attack Alm because he did not want to kill his own son, that's why he hesitated. No, that makes sense, because Rudolf would have attacked him otherwise and probably kill him. He's supposed to be the enemy, the man who Alm swore to kill, only to realise the truth and that he will never be able to spend time with his father. :( Man this game really tugs on your heart strings hard...... rip Rudolf.
I defeated Rudolf yesterday on Hard Mode and be was incredibly overpowered. Sure Deltheia can rip a good chunk of his HP away with Ragnarok, but I had to use Mila's turn wheel twice since he killed Matilda and Zeke with a nasty critical hit. I swear, that Angel Ring is broken beyond reasonable measures.
Rudolf was pretty easy, like in Gaiden. My Alm was incredibly underleveled (Level 7 Hero, 154 rating) and Alm still beat the crap out of him. Delthea can even one round him with Excalibur.
I remember this moment when I first played, I never actually played gaiden and this was like my third fire emblem so I didn’t know much about the lore but this scene hit *HARD*. As a first impression I don’t know if I could ever have the same reaction as the first time experiencing it
"Come attack me". Me: *launches attack and slices off his santa beard*. "Why isn't"t he attacking? What kind of witchcraft is this? I asked for lunatic mode not easy mode!"
I wish that part was more impactful for me.. I just warped Kliff into the middle of everything with his Dracoshield and he just kinda.....absorbed them
This is funny in hard mode I just placed tobin in the middle. Rudolf moves. I killed him with alm and one other guy I did not even killed any other unit lol.
Just did this fight today and didn't get this because I baited him out with an overleveled dread fighter Gray who OHKO'd him via crit. A little sad I missed this little thing
I had no idea that rudolph would not attack alm have this exchange since luthier got a crit and one-shotted him when I played. so it also made me laugh when alm still took credit for killing rudolph.

Say it again for all those who still believe the japanese dub was better. This game proved we got some darn good English dubs. Not many, but some.
Something else I'd like to note is that Nier Automata came out like a month before and 9S is also voiced by Kyle McCarley. It's very possible both characters were recorded at roughly the same time which is insane to me considering how fantastic both performances are
I love Kyle MCarley's voice acting so much. Alm is my favourite role of his. The amount of anguish he puts into his voice makes me cry so hard.
man Kyle knows what he's doing, hes job with 9S was just as impressive
Huh, didn't know that he won't attack Alm. I just nuked him with Mages.
Garrett Seno I went straight to him with Alm for story reasons. I didn't know why he didn't attack until I beat him
Tactical Nuke incoming
Christopher Graham *Tactical Delthea incoming
Garrett Seno same

“He told me himself that he could imagine no more peaceful end.”
“And what of my peace?!”
god the dialogue for this game was amazing
The presentation in this game is top notch
"Rudolph isn't attacking for some reason."
No wonder no one has him join in on any Emperor Games.
Then one foggy Rigelian eve, Duma came to say. "Rudolf with your lance so sharp, won't you murder every f*cking Zofian you meet!"
He won’t attack Alm. Anyone else in his attack range is fair game though.
@Mighty Two-Headed Meerkat Then all the other Rigellians, shouted in an angry rage, Rudolf the Red Nosed Emperor, we will send you to the grave!
Should I tell you the reason? Is gonna be a SPOILER but it you want to see for yourself you can play and download the game.

Don't remind me of that games voice acting dear god
Better than whenIke screams from his father Going berserked and Killing His mother
Voice acting? Sure. But the actual death and aftermath was WAY better done in PoR.
SuperZez I was just talking about the dub voice work.

It’s kind of like darth Vader saying to Luke skywalker “i am your father”

0:43 : 94% Hit fail 😂
then a enemy crits and hits you with a 5% chance, sums up this games RNG Grr... still love it though,,,,,,
RaizerSky I once see a guy that get 1% critted twice despite Mila's wheel in his playthrough of SoV.
His name is Mangs
This game is great. Sucks that the rng is... SHIT!!!
Say that 2 fe4 where i missed 3 90% hit rates
Ikr, what is this, Fire Emblem Fates? lol
This was probably the best orchestrated and best executed scenes in the whole fire emblem franchise. The depiction of Alm at the end in shadow with that baritone narrator really sealed it as being powerful.
Voice acting is on point
Jamieson Price always has to play the saddest roles. First Dhurke, and now Rudolf ;-;
sdw4527 wait HE VOICED DHURKE ?
He voiced great father figures...
And he voice the saddest soldier too GAREN THE MIGHT OF DEMACIAAAAA
WHAT?! WHY DOES HE HAVE TO VOICE SUCH AMAZING CHARACTERS WITH SAD ENDINGS?!
*SEIZURE*
Maybe don't forget Nier--that was a depressing role.
NIER 😭
always wondered why Zeke doesn't react to fighting rudolf
@@4ns00 zeke is camus from fe1 ?
I warped Alm to Rudolf first turn and used double lion. I got 2 crits.
Jesus E Sanchez I always treat it like a normal battle, defeating most of the enemies; the music and set-piece is too epic to just rush it.

Man this game really tugs on your heart strings hard...... rip Rudolf.
Yuri Nakamura You remember when Itachi had to kill his parents? It's basically,
"I refuse to participate in a death match with my son."
Which makes Celica's nightmare earlier on hilarious in hindsight.
This has to be the most pointless comment I’ve ever seen.
The Rat Thanks for your opinion, random person. It’s been noted.
After watching this, I want to give Alm a hug. Poor guy.
Damn you, Jedah...It's thanks to you that Alm and Rudolf suffered so much.
"And what of my peace?"
That line always stuck with me.
Uuuuuh greetings professor nothing to report
the trickster Pretty coincidental that Alm has Green hair/eyes huh?
Damn Kyles voice acting is so fucking powerful
5:27 that's some good acting
Fire emblem echoes is the best game I ever played in my life and Stella glow, they both make me happy because nothing else can make me happy
You have good taste
Most people are calling rudolf a joke in the comments, am I the ONLY one who didn't use Alm to fight him on hard mode?
I saw Rudolf stats and thought : I'm not sending Alm in this!!
So no, you're not alone ^^
I defeated Rudolf yesterday on Hard Mode and be was incredibly overpowered. +Luna is Best Waifu you do realize i am talking about echoes and not gaiden right?
Andy Roy Yes I'm aware lol I was saying Rudolf was as easy as his Gaiden counterpart
"Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer".
Charlie Mc Gowan HAD A VERY EVIL EMPIRE
I think his plan was also to kill the evil generals in his army too as well as getting Desaix and Slayde killed lol.
"Let's get this done..."
That was the first line Alm said in the first battle in the dungeon
(yeah he got wounded before i moved him)
I hate Jedah so much, was so satisfying when I finally got to take him down.
Ninetales Commander Well, he was intentionally written to be dislikable.
He's good, you all just hate blue people.
I remember this moment when I first played, I never actually played gaiden and this was like my third fire emblem so I didn’t know much about the lore but this scene hit *HARD*. As a first impression I don’t know if I could ever have the same reaction as the first time experiencing it
He puts up a fight...well, unless you use Alm.
"Come attack me".
Me: *launches attack and slices off his santa beard*. "Why isn't"t he attacking? What kind of witchcraft is this? I asked for lunatic mode not easy mode!"
Top ten saddest anime moments.
I played through the game blind and almost lost delthea to Rudolf.
So learning he will never engage alm truly angered me.
Kyle McCarley might be one of my favorite VAs in the industry atm
sad alm is sad
Wait nobody gonna talk about the 94% miss 0:43?
Just realized that this was uploaded on my birthday lol
That's pretty fucked up for Rudolph to let have Alm kill him
it's not fire emblem if daddies don't die
I wish that part was more impactful for me.. I just warped Kliff into the middle of everything with his Dracoshield and he just kinda.....absorbed them

I critical Scendscale'd Rudolf to death in one hit in hard mode so I never knew about this dialogue lol.
killing Rudolf is the same as scoring 100 on my test 0:43
Anyone know the name of the music playing while Rudolf is speaking his last words?
NOT "TRUTH"
thanks
Finished the map in 1 turn lol
Do I have to bring only Alm for this? I mean I never had him not attack
Wesley Darnell He attacks anyone but Alm. For easy win use Alm to fight him.
+Jonathan Irizarry, except on Hard mode.
Celica is Best waifu I just started hard mode but haven't got to that part yet. Thou I heard he is at the middle of the map instead of the corner.
Jonathan Irizarry No he is like at the very end of the map protected by very strong mages and golden knights.
Celica is Best waifu Ah okay
The final battle.... Emperor rudolf vs Alm and Tobin
OMG I feel so sad T-T
Rudolf is unable to attack Alm because he wants to show his child how strong he is
“And what of my peace??” It’s incredibly messed all the way up they just mentally scarred Alm and told him to “STFU and go do prophecy shit”
Huh. I didn't realize there was some dialogue, I ended up just two-shotting Rudolf lol
What is the music playing during Rudolph's death
Alm vs Rudolf and tobin
Unlike Celica’s nightmare dream Alm and Rudolf fighting each other
This is funny in hard mode I just placed tobin in the middle. Rudolf moves. I killed him with alm and one other guy I did not even killed any other unit lol.

I think this was honestly my least favorite part of the game, I mean even Yen'fay actually fights Say'ri, he should have at least tried a little
...Shut up tobin
A son killing his father has much more of an impact than a sister killing her brother. Fratricide is easier to roll with
but this one is even more sad than Yen'fay and Say'ri one
You have to remember that him dying to Alm is part of his plans
