Love How this video flows. Camera work And editing is spot on. Shes a good teacher. You guys are awesome. Going to build this in the Philippines with metal Since second hand lumber here is more expensive than metal.
Good job guys, funny thing is we just finished up our chicken coop build and will be posting our video tomorrow, it must be great minds think a like. Keep up the good work.
This is the best video I have seen with the step by step of this tractor.. thank you! Also just subscribed. I stumbled across y’all looking for this tractor and I enjoy watching y’all’s videos and use it for inspiration in my own videos on my channel (thefartheryougo) And y’all’s property is beautiful!
Thank you Jesse. I enjoyed watching your finished chicken coop video. Loved the addition of the pipe insulation and how you built your door. You definitely gave me ideas for next time.
Hello Actively Family. How are you, parents and children, all of you? You all make a very sweet and beautiful family together, I loved you very much. I'm watching you from Türkiye, in which country do you live? I send my love, respect and greetings to your entire family from Türkiye. I really liked the chicken tractor you made. You did a great job, I congratulate you. You gave me very good guidance to make my own chicken tractor, thank you very much. There are things I want to learn, if you let me I will ask them. Can you please write me the measurements of the length, width, roof height and side wall height of this chicken tractor in feet? Hoping you will reply, I thank you in advance and wish you a good night.
what part of AZ are you in? I am over in Yuma, but have lived in phoenix and flagstaff. I have almost 2 acres and I am about to start raising chickens to see how that goes. any tips for the summer?
We bought it on Amazon. ua-cam.com/users/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbjFlNWpIbVNnZ0lUNmtqZkxDMVA5MjJEUUNXd3xBQ3Jtc0tuZDIzaEJ0d1d1THphU0VTYllSQ0JGa29NTWpfYmZ2bmNGYmlkLVphN3NQN0NhZXFHaldhbVNEeXdQSDNfeUNxZ2xRYkVPMVJ6MjBWcmY5Zi12dmlKUE5EeEtNc3Jfck5QVUJOX0pZaDFCWVJvRFBwdw&q=https%3A%2F%2Famzn.to%2F35ZskLM&v=t5nF8EjqFcE
Not a bad build for beginners. I was cringing a little myself at how rough those half-lap joints were, but they'll still work just fine. Only concern I would have is the choice of staples. Those household staple guns really aren't made for holding wire, and my worry is that if I were to kick that hardware cloth, the staples would pop right out and leave a hole that a predator could sneak through. That may not be an issue with a fox or raccoon, but could become one if you get a wandering bear or a large dog poking around the tractor. Heck, a deer could kick or step on the wire and make a hole for a raccoon, or natural twisting could slowly work them loose without you noticing. So I'd make sure to test the strength of your staples, and add some better fasteners if that doesn't hold up. Poultry net staples and grip-right nails come to mind as stronger options. They also both have the benefit of going in with a hammer, so no new tools needed.
@@ActivelyFamily Well, if you start to get more into DIY builds, I can recommend you check out Rex Krueger's Woodwork for Humans series for some basic craft skills, and Home RenoVision's A to Z shed tutorial for construction tips. Rex is more about small builds, like furniture, but he teaches a lot of all-purpose skills as well, including how to cut half-laps. RenoVision has some really cool tips for house renovation and shed construction. So those two make a really good base to build from.
Yes that’s about how much it cost when we followed the suggested materials list in the book. I am sure there are alternative materials you could test out for cheaper.

Hi @Sustainable Living! Really looking forward to watching your video. You always have such good and practical advice. Thanks again!
Can this be modified to accommodate 50 layer chickens in a cold weather area?

Hey what size is that. And about how many chickens can u use in there
Good Job!
Thanks. We are by no means experts, but still are happy with our chicken tractor build today.
Nice job I am building our fist one.
Beautiful family
U make it look so easey
😅
You can do it!
Na minha opinião,usar parafuso ao invés de abraçadeira,ficaria melhor.Um fraterno abraço,aqui do 🇧🇷 Brasil p vcs.👍👋👋
Great suggestion!
Thank you very much!!
You are welcome!
You don't have Harbor Frieght or similar? They have wheels and tarps there at a good price
Great suggestion.

Great video. Just curious, did you include the tools in your supply costs? Meaning, were the tools included in that $400?
I was thinking it must have been. I don't list of parts, but the lumber is only like 60 and it send like half the project cost
How can I get one of them books
We bought it on Amazon.

Nice!
Good land you need to buy a tool store for that
We did because being new diyers we didn’t own many tools.
About how long did this take you to build ?
The project took us a couple Saturdays. Not long at all.
Very neat! This is very American stuff LOL
Hi @Big Guy’s 45’s! So good to hear from you! Thanks for the encouragement!

We are definitely beginner builders. I like your staple suggestion.

I put my own the outside
Do you think that a predator would dig under it?
I guess it depends on the type of ground you put it on. Since we were moving ours regularly and it sat on grass we didn’t have any trouble.
Hi
Hi Augustus! Good to see you again.
Almost 400 bucks, yikes, I’m sure it’s even worse now. Def gonna wait on one of these until lumber prices drop(which the probably won’t)
Yes that’s about how much it cost when we followed the suggested materials list in the book. I am sure there are alternative materials you could test out for cheaper.
@@ActivelyFamily is that price just for the supplies or did that include the tools too? Thanks.
Half lap joints are a waste of time and energy.
why?
Lame
