Very nice video quick question for the steps needed are the hurdles running in the video running a 110 or 100 and do the steps differ?

    Interesting.
Last year when I tried hurdles (without any coaching or knowing of your channel), I did the same thing on my left side.
I even pulled my trail leg fot inwards/medially and tuck it under my butt.
My left hip angle is anatomically different from the right one (which goes easily to the side).
For that reason, I chose to use my left leg as lead leg (albeit doing drills with both sides).
Now I am switching to four step, and must say, my left hip still wants to tuck under.
I am doing your 101 drills (and 201), and especially trail leg wall drills, slowly, while thinking actively about what my left hip is doing, helped a lot.
Sometimes I use a light ankle weight to help with proprioception (and maybe even hip strength).
Learning hurdles is challenging and a lot of fun.
I always appreciate your technique analysis videos Mike 👍👍👍

Coach ace, I’m trying to learn how to three step but I just can’t get enough momentum. I think I might be reaching to much but I’m not sure. Got any tips?

I’d be happy to help. It’s difficult to answer that question easily because I have so many videos covering just about everything related to hurdling. Beyond that, I have two options for you: 1. Satisfaction guaranteed! Learn more here. acemethodcoaching.com/hurdle-coaching-services/ 2. Free Video review: This is a very quick version of the coaching session, but no guarantee of timeliness (could be days or weeks) or that your video will get selected. Simply send me your video. If it is selected, I’ll email you the link when it’s done. to send me your video, go to my website: acemethodcoaching.com/home-2/hurdling-home/ there you will see how to send it. I look forward to helping you! Coach

Simply bring each hurdle closer in (reduce the gap) to a distance you can comfortably 3 step. Become consistent and then gradually lengthen the hurdles a little until they are close to normal race spacing. Aim to stay low and get your feet back to track quickly...don't over stride. Coach Caton documents this really well in his videos.

I don’t think I like having my kids faces in your advertisement. You should blur them out.

Are you a coach or a parent? All video submitted to me come with permission for me to use it in my marketing. In this case, I additionally asked the athlete if her parents were OK with it, she said everybody was good with it. Blurring it’s not something I can do once the video is posted. If you’re a parent, I’d ask you and your daughter to discuss this. If you still wanted removed, I’ll take it down.
