Hello there, as a knowledgeable suspension setup person, the rear shock does not overload the front. The front fork spring is on the soft side, hence the dive. Especially if you are over the target weight of 70~80kg. It is setup on the soft side for beginner riders. Same as the brakes, they are not grabby for beginner riders. The front tire losing traction has to do with the tire, as it is a commuting tire. Changing to better sports touring tires will fix the traction issue.

but has another great advantage over duke 390 (i also tried duke 790 and was quite the same), on rough tarmac in twisty roads it handles and feel safely, ktm duke feels sketchy with even sligtly uneven road in the corners, this one is always safety inspiring

One more pro here, the fuel efficiency. My cb300r has 80mpg and the good body position makes it a good commute bike. My r6 always gets 200F high when red lights on my way to work. The only disadvantage is low power(70mph is PITA to ride on highway) but it conflicts with the fuel efficiency. So, pick the proper one to ride with the purpose. It is a good bike

Well I’ve been riding 20 years and I love this bike. What’s the point in banging on about it being quiet and not very fast? …and saying it’s not as fast as the 650…. It’s a 300cc. Don’t know what your expectations were.

I have the 2023. It's very fun for just zipping around country roads in my area. Haven't taken it on the freeway, but I'm sure it would be fine for short stretches. I don't really understand the "beginner bike" classification. It's a small bike, but even seasoned riders can enjoy the small bike experience. I learned to ride on my dad's KZ1000, and most of the fourteen bikes I've owned over the years have been litre-class sport bikes and standards, but for casual, sunny afternoon rides through cow country, I love my little Honda! 👍

Set out for my CBT and ended up with a full license, never ridden a motorbike before. Chose this to be sensible and learn on, I love it. I’m a total beginner and this is light, agile, and has more than enough power for me for the next few years. You do get blown about a fair bit in the wind though, and I find I’m quite busy with the gears a lot of the time. Not necessarily a bad thing, it’s more interactive

I got my CB300R in March 2019, now with 10k miles. Still lovin' it. I don't think the fork is too soft and the rear can be set up stiffer with the preload adjuster. Pirelli Rosso IIs made a big difference. I've got a quick turn throttle tube and Healtech quick shifter which really help. On the tight, twisty canyon roads of Malibu it's a joy to ride. I never feel fatigued riding it.

I researched this bike as a light urban runabout, but had to rule it out. The battery is hidden under a shrouded gas tank instead of it being conveniently under the seat. The shrouded design severely cuts into gas capacity. The CB500F has more conventional battery access and a surprisingly large gas tank capacity.

I ride a used 750, my first bike. 500lbs. I've laid it down a few times. I don't regret my decision. It's docile in first gear under 4k rpm. I had tons of experience on a bicycle and it helped. The first time I didn't stall, the thing got up to 10mph and I thought I was going to crash, but I hit the brakes, stalled, and dumped it. Success. I rode it three blocks home in first and waited 2 weeks before looking at it again. Kicked myself for spending so much, and finally tried again. I love it, but it's kinda expensive. Love it anyway.

If you haven't decided I had both at one time and hands-down, the CB300R is way better even though the internals are mostly the same and the CB costs a bit more. It's down to ergonomics, weight savings, and a style that you'd need to be actively trying to get tired of.
I have a Tuono and a KLX300SM and my CB still has the most miles on it. Still don't regret buying it, still don't ever think of selling it.

I'm about to sell my current vehicle (2017 elantra) due to the market, I'm being offer $5k more than I owed and I have a running 2003 accord and my wife has a crossover, so I'll keep the accord for when it rains.
I've never been on a bike, so I'll have to take classes, so I'm still deciding on what engine, 300 or 500? Do I like speed? Yes, but incluso enjoy slow speeds (I had a jeep wrangler and slow is better for crawling). I just need a bike for my 30 mile freeway round trip commute, cheap on gas and comfortable. Also, $5k will be max budget and don't want to finance. Now, you did answer one concern, it's faster than a civic or corolla and I'm ok. Less than 7 seconds for 0 to 10 is good enough.

cb300r is very light and nimble, more suitable for carving windy roads for fun
cb500f is heavier, confy and more suitable for highway cruising
fuel economy very good on both them but of course cb300r use less fuel, but also had much smaller fuel tank

How does the CB300R compare to Kawasaki Z400? Which one is better for beginners? Thanks

    • @shadow_realm47
      @shadow_realm47 2 роки тому +6

Cb 300r is lighter/ easier to flick. Z400 might feel slightly cheaper but the engine is atleast a few tiers better.
If you plan on doing easy going rides at 135+ kmph speeds eventually, and owning the ride for 3 years or more go for the z400.
And if you plan on really sharpening your skills for 2 years at around 95 kmph speeds or less and then moving onto a bigger steed the cb 300r seems reasonable.
But you can also look into a CRF 300L Rally instead of a cb300r and then eventually keep both that and get a bigger road biased bike.

And I don't think the abs works the way you explain it... isn't it built in for shorter braking distance?
