I visited Tampa back in 2009 and had the pleasure of visiting beautiful Anna Maria island. It was one of the best experiences of my life, right next to when I visited NYC and saw the Manhattan skyline for the first time.
Thank you TampaArielMedia for recognizing my comment of Anna Maria Island, Longboat, and Siesta Keys! Lived in Bradenton 12 & 1/2 years before moving back to Mi. !! Cold and snowing today Ugh!!
Such a great video! My family history goes back over 100 years on that little Island. I first remember going in the late 60's for two-week family vacations right on the beach. I remember catching sheepshead, grouper and King Mackerel on the City Pier in the early 1970’s with all those pelicans sitting on the power lines waiting for a free meal, the deck boards white beneath them and half had fishing lures hanging from their bills. I remember riding out Hurricane Agnes in 1972 as the water rose knee high across the entire Island. My Dad once told me that he learned to swim in the 1940’s along the City Pier among all the sting rays and across the street my Great Grandmother would spend the summers in the old two-story wooden structure that rented rooms with screened sleeping porches. My Grandfather used to ride his motorcycle across the first bridge (now the Bradenton Beach Pier) in the 1920’s standing up doing tricks as he crossed and his youngest sister and her husband owned and operated the Coquina restaurant just in front of the Sand Bar Restaurant (it is now a realtor’s office I believe). He used to take me off the Island to the Shake Pit for a burger and a shake. He knew the owner and would always make a big fuss in in introducing me to him. He called it the “Snake Pit” and said it was his favorite place to get a hamburger. My Grandmother first introduced me to BLT’s at Skinny’s and a real treat was making that long drive to the IGA to get root beer and vanilla ice cream to make floats. We didn’t have cable TV, central A/C or a dishwasher and for fun we would dig up coquinas or make drip castles and fish with sand fleas. At night we would walk around with giant sparklers and look for shark’s teeth after filling our bellies with watermelon, the old kind where you stood there and spit out seeds as much as you took in. My Dad would occasionally drag me down to the Holmes Beach pavilion to shoot pool. There was a jukebox and a snack bar, so all was not lost. The days were long and boring at times, the sun hot, but boy would I pay anything for just one more day like that on that beautiful Island with my family. Thanks again for sharing this and bringing back so many wonderful memories.
My grandfather owned a big Grapefruit Grove Grove that went from Ellenton to Palmetto on the Manatee River ...I spent every summer at Coquina Beach or Holmes Beach, my Uncle used to have a cottage there but it got wiped out during a Hurricane.... Used to ride our bicycles all over the island, ah the 60s were great!!!!
Reminds me of the old charm of Naples that no longer exists. Love the western Gulf coast. The waves are gentle except when there’s a storm which provides excellent shelling.
Your aerial videos were great two years ago and they are equally as nice today. I enjoy the narration you include with later videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thankyou for the nice words, I appreciate that feed back. Yea it started from a viewers criticism of actually the Anna Maria video saying "it was just another video with no words". I took it to heart and started adding narration.
I was stressed out with everything in life, set up my chair on the fine sand, and gazed into the glimmering sunset on Anna Maria Island. I instantly knew this was the place! The stress from life suddenly vanished faster then I even remembered it was ever there! Makes me want to move there.
I use to go there, back in 1985 thru 1990.Beautiful memories.I remember passing in front of Tropicana Orange Company, going to Stewart Alamentry School,in Bradenton, FL.thanks
Wonderful drone photography and very nicely compiled and scored. We have not been to AMI, but are considering a vacation there. These videos are sealing the deal for me. Thank you!
Spent every summer in the 60s at Coquina Beach our Holmes Beach... My Grandparents lived in Ellenton.... My mom went to Palmetto High.... She was a real Beach Bunny.... Used to fish with my Grandpa off of the City Pier.... Good memories Good Times
Beautiful place to visit. Our favourite place to relax is Coquina Beach,by the Longboat pass bridge.Plenty of boats passing plus most visits we have seen dolphins and manatees.
Love this place so much the best amzin place I every been. Been common there for three years I love it lots. Ready to go back there I miss my anna meria island my paradise beach every.
This island is so beautiful! I went there once and will never forget it, the sand was as soft as flour, I will definitely return one day. Wish I had a house there!
Woah, incredible video! Stunning shots and extremely smooth! I’m currently growing up here basically, I live right across the bridge, I go to those 3 piers (at 3:30 ) almost 2 times a week to shark fish! This is incredible!
AMI truly beautiful stayed at Tortuga Inn on bayside, beach across the street. All low rise hotels, trolley, and great beaches and seafood. Hard to beat.
Some nice shots. Liked the drone then the cut to the car shots - was cool - here is pelican view and here is lizard view. It looks like a cool small locals only spot. Laid back kinda compared to Clearwater Beach (live there), Treasure Island, Madeira Beach. IMO, the music at 2:50 had to be turned down, the sound of fingers scratching/sliding on the guitar stings somewhat cringing, just nitpicking.
I have watched this video at 40 times😍. I'll be vacationing there in about 4 months. Was every aerial shot done completely with a drone or did you ever fly in a helicopter🚁 to get those shots?
Epic drone shots here! This vid is incredible! Very well done! This is so so good! You should go share these amazing drone shots over at AirVuz! Airvuz is one of the best places for viewing and sharing drone videos! You should totally go cheeck out the AirVuz website!
what a great response. best response ever. thank you for that response. you should really go chechk out this response app. its a really good place for responses.
I grew up there. Beautiful but in recent years Russian citizens & immigrants have been buying up so much of the real estate & pricing locals out of the market. I guess that's just how it goes. I still remember when long boat key was a beautiful place locals enjoyed even camping on the bay now the only beach accesses are hidden with no parking & no way to actually access them even though state funds maintain the beaches from erosion which is the only reason they have any public access at all. Police harrass you if you don't have a long boat address & drive a $200,000 car.
They in fact are very over crowded now..been to both over 4xs.. We went to A.M 2 weeks ago got there at 9am couldnt find one parking space. Drove for at least 2 hours up and down. Finally just went to S.K and it was crowded as well ,but we were able to find a spot 20 mins into being there. Both BEAUTIFUL beaches A.M imo is better of the 2 hands down!!
Jesus Christ loves you and he’s coming any day now like a thief in the night!!! All the signs are here right now!! Stay Focus & close to Jesus!!! We are in the “End Times” of Mankind on this Earth, give your life to Jesus Christ and he will save you from God’s Wrath which is destruction on planet Earth!!! It's still a great place to go, but everyone has their hand out to the point that you can't even park without having to pay someone first, and then pay them again to get a golf cart ride to the beach and then pay them again to get a ride back to your car, and yes I live here, not just a disgruntled visitor lol.
Sorry to be a downer, but the first very thing I think about when I see this place is the potential for the whole remote island to be wiped out by a hurricane. 😂😂😂😂😂
I've got one of my grandpa's old movies of the whole North end of the island being under 2 ft of water during the hurricane, my uncle had a place there that got wiped out during a hurricane in the 60s

One of our family’s favorite places on earth. Just a beautiful place to live, vacation, eat fresh seafood, and explore.

Thank you for not adding in any overly obnoxious music or commentary and just letting the footage speak for itself. Great work!
Thankyou for the comments, always good to know what viewers like and dislike, much appreciated.
