- Welcome to another video in France, this time we're starting in Paris following the river Seine northwest to the town of Rouen. Those who watch our last trip in France from Bordeaux to Marseille may recall that we travelled along one of the first railways in France (the section Sète-Ville - Tarscon). The line we're one today also belongs to that category, having opened in 1843.
What I love about the French railway is how interconnected it is (and in many cases was - many lines have been closed.) There are many more options of how to get from A to B than on your typical railways in Switzerland and also a lot of options for turning around. The junctions with former and current connecting lines are labelled during the journey.
If you'd like to follow our journey, I can recommend openrailwaymaps.org. It's basically a google map for railways with a great deal of information including where most former railways were.

It is amazing how colossal the Paris/France railway system is (or used to be as a lot of tracks are dismantled or abandoned)). From a point of view of someone how see it for a first time it is a breath taking chaos - which is actually perfectly organised and it function perfectly and unbelievably efficiently.
I took that line once in 2005 when I visited Rouen . But it was in an old Corail.. Reminds me of that time..

Superbe vidéo. Sincèrement la qualité des images, l'immersion dans la 26500, les indications etc. Vraiment au top ce cabride 👌🏾. Mention spéciale pour le passage par le nouveau raccordement des Piquettes à MTE. Quand j'ai vu que tu étais reçu Voie 1S, je me suis dit "Purée le Rac est encore en travaux 😳comment il va faire ?" mais bon j'ai vu qu'il avait été mis en service il y a peu. Quelle misère de voir cette ligne sacrifiée sur l'autel du cadencement, alors qu'il y a 50 ans le trajet était parcouru en 1h04 par les rapides... Le paysage reste toujours magnifique.
Il y a aussi les travaux du RER E qui impactent le temps de trajet

1:14:43 This is a future highway bridge. the two access ramps are not yet created.
This bridge will connect a future residential area on the left to an already existing area on the right.
The construction of this bridge avoided the creation of a level crossing that could cause accidents.

Is this the cab of some kind of TGV 🚄? It seems to be going space-travel fast 💨!!
Wait till you see a real TGV (we have a video coming). This is the train pictured at the start, which manages 160 km/h or about 100 mph.
