I Played A $25,000 Buy-In Poker Tournament! My BIGGEST Hands...

- Don't miss all the crucial hands from my run in the $25,000 Buy-In SCOOP High Roller. Unlike the $25k Heads Up Event, which I'll be playing today on Twitch, this poker tournament was an 8-max event. Other players in the tournament included Charlie Carrell, Ben Sulsky (Sauce123), Isaac Haxton, and Jason Mercier. This is serious High Stakes Poker. In fact, aside from the 1-time $100,000 super high roller, which I played last year, no online poker tournament has ever been bigger.
I'm streaming the $25,000 Heads Up event TODAY! Watch here: DougPolk.tv

TID doug you deserve it i got perm banned from your twitch channel for writing the same message twice i think the first one it said followers only so i followed and then i posted it again and got perm banned :) i dont mind tho i dont need to chat to enjoy your channel.
Your "prayer" was amazing please begin every video with a prayer from now on. You should pray to Stu Ungar and you would run better.
Doug Polk Poker good luck
what a way to dust off $50,000. this is the 2nd time one of your horrible bluffs has been picked off in a 25k
Doug Polk Poker
Question for ya brother..what are the stats on the HUD or whatever its called..
I don't want to criticize your analysis of that hand with 88 vs AA, but as I watched it live( obviously on delay) I noticed one major tell, that I haven't seen anyone talk about yet. The AA Re-raise amount. I've noticed that you like 1337, 13337 etc. in your own bets. I think he may have had that same read on you, and inverted the numbers on you to 7331 and you didn't catch that as a show of strength. Did you notice that on your reevaluation of the hand after the fact?
This comment needs to be higher. I also noticed this and I think this was a clear tell that Doug isn't getting a fold on the shove >= 20% of the time which makes the shove slightly to moderately bad.
wow man Beautiful comment!! :D
It was a very dumb all in though
on to it read
doug doesnt play exploitative poker...
Fun fact: Black88 actually went on to win this tournament for $600k.
hes a bot
Your mom is a bot.
He definitely kept his foot on the gas.
@@Crims0ny Yes for sure, guys wins 600 thousand dollars and you say "he is a bot"... LOL
SO PATHETIC
@@milosjazic7453 bot doesnt mean bad. google deepstack. pathetic.
Im glad you left it up to stars on fedor being able to rebuy "your call" -Doug
Man 25k online poker tourney, and I can't even afford lunch...… Life's good. Lol
when you see the video is almost over but you're still hoping for an Ace or a Ten lol
24:08 "Pocket... uhhhhhh..." *Doug.exe has left the building*
Hey doug, your description is incorrect, did you had a typo of Mercier, did you mean Badreg?
Why when you hovered over your avatar it said Australia ?
Nice to see some other famous faces in this tourney. Epiphany77 being Charlie and Trueteller
the funniest and greatest of all poker trolls, my man doug polk lmao
Thanks for posting, Doug. It was fun to watch, for many reasons.
“Who called for a 7 of clubs? Who the hell was it? I wanna know.” 😂😂
he didn't start his letter to support with "what's up lee, doug polk here"
Just started exploring your channel, lots of good stuff, you obviously know what you are doing. Having to overlook the cockeyed hats and tank tops....but learning.
yo Doug nice 1 dude. The pocket eights though should have just get rid of preflop, at least on the flop u should have man.
nasty spot to let it go but def. the rigt play with 50bb behind
21:50 LoL
Doug: "Fador was out of the tournament and you can not rebuy"
Tourney Lobby: "93 entries, 32 re-entries"
Doug: I'm emailing support
wtf was that 88 vs AA play? You were playing so well too
It was rather shocking, even got me mad.
Yeah, I watched that live, he correctly made the read of an over-pair, as did I, and still donked off his stack. ..like I'm bored I'll just throw away my 25k buy-in. I mean even a 9 beat him, ez fold to me.
Lark703 $25,000 set on fire.. he played it so bad.
The reason is simple GTO. Though I think calling should be fine too.
Why is that play GTO? Could you explain?
This was really exciting to watch, a similar sweat would be like me playing in a $200 buy in tournament. It's amazing to watch someone play for so much cash.
love your vids my dude ! you're killin it lol 1 part I thought was funny was, 14:25" what's this weak ass raise" lol also Polk: "Call" ... lmaooo I was dead
Oh man, you really e-mailed support. ROFL! Good times.
Well he typed out an e-mail, he didn't actually show sending it.
congrats on making gold star!
played very well, nice work I enjoyed the stream on the day and really just unfortunate cooler with the 88s anyways thanks for the good UA-cam content and keep it up looking forward to more! cheers.
Vanessa Selbst joke
Bro, Bro, Bro your boat gently down the stream...you should have called this the 25k brofest
3bet to 7.331 with the AA. That guy is ruthless..
ginioum 753 wow great pick up amigo . And he said bazzam in the chat after . The 3 net troll . Kids on another level :-)
I dont understand why u say That?
zapa paya someone explain what you guys mean in plain English please I don’t play much appreciated
@@tunafish919 Charlie Carrel!!
Was the 88 shove maybe a cash game shove and not a tournament shove (considering ICM)?
doug, im your biggest fan! now im gonna enjoy the next 30 min and learn.
everyone just chill the f out - it's not like anyone else who has played mtts hasn't shoved in a mediocre spot only to get snapped off by an over pair or set. it was probably a bad shove but who else had the balls to play a 25k bi mtt today?
Everyone in here apparently better than Doug 😂😂
for a $25,000 buy-in you really played it like a pigeon.
Lmao i thought so to, cant belive this guy is professional poker player.
I don't think you guys know how to poker lmao
Yeah, that’s why he’s worth millions and you’re commenting on YT videos
@Craig Laycox okey but why u protecting him like his your boyfriend lol
@@shinchin4205 Ye I especially thought that when he raised all-in with his 88 when he even guessed his opponent had aces LOL, then just make the call and u can still see. But is best to bet right away on such a flop, to take it. If he calls he probably has a higher pair too and you can stilll fold afterwards... If you have good bankroll management you should only play such tournament when you got a 100fold that kind of money and I don't think that guy did.
This should be short and sweet
Doug, I saw your thumbnail where it looked like you were holding your head. I thought you might have been hurt or something. Glad you're alright. Really had me worried there.
Doug have you ever considered changing this name's channel to !Giveaway? Just in case someone didn't know about it
Jesus Christ stop saying bros so much

Shut the fuck up bros
Why bro, you got a problem with cooki jars bro, Well bro do you bro. Bro
That's like asking Trump to stop saying "tremendous"
bruhhh
very nice play and nice vid, I subbed! I did, however, got confused with the 88 shove like many people here. maybe because, by nature, I am the kind of players that will defend his stack when you are at that point in the tourney. It was really nice to see you climb up again after a few losses tho will follow more your vids! Gl on your next games.
Hi Doug, congrats for your vids. They are really cool and you're very funny on twitch.
I was wondering why having a diamond in your hand (88) on a 569dd board is a good thing ? Don't you block somehow flush draws ?
that was well played til the 88 hand. that was a bit of a punt and i think you went cash game thought process gto this spot is a vacuum what is icm (yeah i know strictly speaking icm isnt really involved til deep in the money but lets just say, its always a factor in tournaments in a way). doug is an amazing player, much better than i, and hey i mightve played it worse cause i wouldve prob 3b pre and folded to the cold 4b and never gotten a shot at a flop and just burned chips anyway, but if i had dougs image and realized they realize im plying gto then this is one of the few times you can fold htat flop cause even if it doesnt smash any one persons range its wet as hell and, its 3way, hes never folding better because of your image and fuck even flatting and bluffing some run outs is better than just punting there IMO. id like to hear some advanced analysis on the hand from doug personally. and ya disclaimer my total earnings in tournament poker could only buy into this tournament and cover a rebuy if there was no rake, so dont say herp derp yt pro i get it
zach cannuli there was very little “good play” from Doug even prior to the 88 hand. He constantly raises out of position with marginal hands and checks/calls when he should bet/raise. Of course there were a lot of terrible players in that tournament that he managed success against, but I expected better play from a dude who dedicates his channel to poker playing
i like backwards hat doug. he seems cool
Cheers m8
Luv ya Doug but can you not act faster on your turn? Tournaments can be dreadfully slow sometimes and I feel like people time bank way too much
Jim's really well informed on the 88 hand
Doing good Doug. Keep up the great content. Viewer since day 1!
A “moment of silence” is a moment of “silence”... whereas you “leading us in prayer” is you praying “out loud” on behalf of everyone involved. Xoxo
I think you forgot to mention the giveaway Doug
Thanks again for sharing this. It's very interesting to see.
Hi Doug, how do you record with overlay and everything without the music, which was playing during the stream( i was watching you! :-D). Is it some specific setting in OBS? Asking cos i like to stream games with music on and cant use the footage cos of copyrights. Thx
Almost got him! ALMOSTTTTTT !!!!!
Never luck Bro
Doug made me tired from all that heavy breathing
Manley Tubes as a name means, the guy is probably in the music recording Industry. "Manley" ist one of the best US Companies for Tube Recording Equipment. Love it.
Btw, love your Poker Channel. Thinking about enlisting for Upswing.
i love how you capitalize on isolation preflop !!! well played sir i hope we can play 1v1 one day
Doug says he's on delay then blames "the bro ' s " for bad channeled energy on a terrible river lol.all the time asking himself if he reminded us.of the giveaway...I love your style bro #Grind4Life

hi, big fan from a long time. I just have one question what software do you use for your statistics in game? Thanks
And Charlie on the same table, noice!
I have returned to reclaim my spot as King of Doug's comments section
You've been usurped.
What's up guys, Dan Pigeon here..
When that guy dropped the devil emoji and ended up having AJ I felt that
That e-mail 😂😂😂
Some one has been watching PewDiePie.
I dont understand. Are pocket 8s worth $25,000? Why not call.
Ersh Cashes whether the buy-in is $2 or $25,000, the spot is the same.
thats not entirely true though is it m8
matty dodd are you talking to me? Cuz if you think so, back it up. Of course in $2 tournaments the opposition is different, but imagine the opposition was the exact same, would the spot be different then?
But its not the same so you're wrong...
And that 88 play was completely idiotic.
Congrats!! As far I.ve seen you took very good desitions! Why u went all in with QJ of hearts on turn when ur opponent raised on flop?
can someone pleas help me in how tu use the pockertrucker ?
Chips in tourneys are too valuable to be 3betting so wide. Even from a GTO standpoint you're bluffing way too often to balance out. This isn't a cash game where everyone is 100bbs deep and you can play poker post flop. Stacks are much shorter here and playing GTO will simply lead you to spewing chips preflop and getting jammed on. Or post flop like with your 88
Thought most of his play was bad after his A7s loss in the middle of the video. Can't play a tournament like a cash game once the blinds and ante's get too large. His 66 raise call with 6x pot size in his stack was marginal at best. 3-bet KTs with small stack into the chip leader making pot half Doug's stack, raiser will almost always put him in. Just throwing chips away. 3-bet late-position raiser with ATo in SB with stack less than 5x the pot. All-in or fold Doug, there's no post-flop poker to play as the short-stack here. 88 play might be slightly positive EV in cash game, but no reason to risk your healthy stack here. Am I the only one that thinks this is basic tournament stuff?
gtwon I think it's basic tournament stuff but nothing more and this isn't a basic small stakes tournament. You have to defend aggressively against good players. The A7 hand is standard. You can see that villain has over 50% equity when his bluff got called. The more equity villains bluffs have the more you have to defend. By folding A7 there Doug is just gifting villain chips.
Same with 88. Doug has to defend 45% of his hands against a 40% pot bet in a 3 way pot. Otherwise the Button is gonna make an imidiate profit by betting any two cards. 8d8x is a pretty decent hand to shove since it blocks the nuts and has decent equity against nearly every other hand if called.
This might not be a cash game but the fundamentals are still the same and against good, aggressive opponents you can't ignore those otherwise you will be guaranteed to lose.
I love your vlogs and your demeanor ...great stuff.....Poker is not perfection. Work in progress..... I think u were tired as you even stated in your live feed when asked by a guest if you were stoned or exhausted and you conceded you were "1 of those" ~tired......and so 88 with that many bigs was a tired play. I learned a lesson from your experience. Thank you for sharing and dont take the negative criticism you will certainly get for it too hard. I can see taking that 88 with 10-15 bigs and doing what you did but that deep was a painfully frivolous move is all. That was a Ray Guy punt of 85 yards on 2nd down.~ with the benevolent bounce of course.
Does any one know, with place you have to end up, before you get a reward/profit by playing the tournement?
That was harder to watch than the first time around
you played so bad
I want to DEFEND the 88 shove from all the CAPTAIN HINDSIGHTS that are criticizing it....
Let's compare CALLING versus FOLDING to simplify the analysis (we'll ignore the CALL option).....
If he FOLDS, he gets to play on with $54k...... so FOLDING is worth $54k.....
So the question becomes IS SHOVING WORTH MORE OR LESS THAN $54K (we're ignoring the call option to simplify the analysis)?
If he GETS CALLED after shoving, he still has 25% chance of winning a $114k pot, plus $10k behind.... that's worth $43k....
If he DOESN'T GET CALLED after shoving, he gets 100% of an $89k pot, plus $10k behind... that's worth $99k....
So SHOVING is worth....... (Probability of being called)*($43k) + (Probability of NOT being called)*($99k)
If (Probability of being called) = 80%, then he should be INDIFFERENT between SHOVING and FOLDING.... as $54k = 80% ($43k) + 20% ($99k)
If (Probability of being called) < 80%, then HE SHOULD SHOVE.....
I believe that the the probability of Doug's shove being called was less than 80%......
Therefore, I believe that Doug made a good shove... I guess it was just his time to die.... Well played Doug!.... I love the videos!
great analysis, thx man
It was a terrible move. Spit out all the poker jargon you want. Common sense says that's an easy fold.
Sure thats assuming a random hand from the villain which I don't think is a correct analysis from the betting patterns
Chokey McSqueeze not saying the push is bad but the analysis is flawed since chip EV=/= $ EV in a tournament so maximising you're chips is not the goal of the game.
it wasn't a preflop shove if you see the hand
What program is he using to have those stats underneath each player?
BRO LET BRO SAY BRO AS MUCH AS BRO WANTS, BRO.
BRO Im watching your video for the first time.. more actual content and less acting.. its hard to learn something while listening yo your cringe jokes
Omega Studio watch his other videos. This is not a typical video for him. The others on his channel are funny and fun to watch.
If you want to learn something, play position poker. This guy was terrible at that.
Dont mock God. Thats blasphemy.
This guy seriously prayed in the name of some guy... lee jones or something like that... mocking Jesus and mocking people who pray in Jesus name. Then continuing on like such conduct has zero consequence. Then I see like zero comments defending Jesus. Like being led by a blind man.
Lee Joan’s name-prohibitive by the words of this comment
It has no consequence, because neither Jesus or God actually exist.
oof owie the edge
What's with the stats under peoples name? What are those numbers?
That 7 of clubs was hilarious!
Stop playing poker any more pls.
Doug about that prayer at the start....i didn't like it at all. I am not religious guy and i don't like religion at all so if you make fun of them i couldn't care less but saying that you don't have enough money for food....i think you shouldn't make fun of this...there are many ppl out there hungry an not so fortunate as we are...and you never know what life brings. Overall very good video as always; keep 'em coming. Cheers
klobasa007007 he was praying to bloody Lee Jones for the love of god
lol get off the internet
@Nino Vermeulen i know it's a joke and didn't meant anything bad but still imo it's not very appropriate....
@Grizzly WG why did u edit previous comment? u should leave it like you wrote it really...let your feelings out it's nothing wrong with it.
If you are a true believer, you should not care about people making fun ;) .
Like i wrote earlier i am not a religious person....
can someone please tell me how doug gets his bet sizing to a automated percentage of 29, 42 etc. been tryna work out how to do it on pstars for last couple days and i cant suss it lol
From the lobby: Settings > Gameplay > Bet Slider
Doug, Amazing player! the 88 hand is a clear mistake but nobody is perfect.
Lets see ppl clown on the phohawk now!! Also Doug instead of mocking a prayer how about you whip that bible out and read a few pages. Life is great w 100 dollar bills but Jesus is the real jackpot. Good day.
Jason Smith ayy don't come here just to push your religious bullshit
jesus is a made up story
Is this a bluff? Or a semi bluff? I call, I CALL! You have Jesus equity so I probably lose. goddamit
I'm sure Jesus would want you to watch poker videos in your free time.

I have a question can you claim the cash you win in poker stars cash tables? for example if I enter with 20 and go with 40 can I get those 40 to my bak account?
How long is the delay you had on this live stream? Just curious...
How can i have all the Information you have under each player? Thx
this is the content we need.
Doug, how've you got your HUD set up?
For being one of the top pros and great advice for players he has too many dislikes. Doug is a great player great man and will be a great father
Is there a guide to what all the numbers mean next to the player's names?
you're a freaking gambler!
Congrats:)
Love how it says hes out of Australia while playing this

Can anyone explain the shove at 10:30? I'm not criticizing him in any way, I just want to know
Doug, just stopping by to say YOU DA MAN! -Peace out
Hey Doug have been watching all your videos really enjoy and always trying to improve my game, I agreed with your AA. READ when your holding 88 his pre flop raise was very reasonable it didnt look like a bluff I thought you would fold 88 there and move on you still had plenty of blinds right?
What are all those extra numbers under his opponements? And how did he get them there?
What is all that color numbers under the others players tags?
does anyone know what that software is at 18:28?
Once again can you please tell me how stars allows you to play from America?
What are the coloured stats you have on your screen??? Anyone?
Can someone tell me why, at 12:45 he shows the jacks pre-river? I think is an easy bluff after that move. He knows now how scared you are of A and Q, you can notice the overbet. I don't know, i didn't get it.
it looks so strong if he just 3bs those 88 pre, that the 4b from aces is easier to read. pretty good to take for my own game. 25k tournament online is insane though, cant compare 100$ online games to this..entertainment value is definitely +++
Was That 88 shove part of the 50k giveaway ?!
Punt city over here bud keep it up bud good stuff. GG
How can I play in the wsop 2020? I dont have 10.000. Is there a site I can play in?
