Wonder if u answer in another comment what mark amount for tier 2 and tier 3. I know ,look 50 get quicker trap day release and geting annoy try it i was like fuck this shit till guide come out and i can figure out how many dinosaur going have struggle get to get this bought. + lucky update today remove fails from counting so lil less stress on it. Yea wonder if giving up money tier 1 for tier 2 is maybe worth it more for mark count?
A big tip for 2 or 3 spawns is (if you have it) stay in the tall grass and look at the areas the dinos wander, in 2+ spawns their radius is smaller and often results in safe spots on the edges of the arena
Tier 3 hunter lodge is VERY helpful. You also don't need a BoB or notepaper if you max upgrade the bait box which acts as both storage of bait and deposit box for loot. When there are 2/3 dinosaurs their circles are smaller and often give you additional safespots besides the grass. I also gather materials for like 3 kills, it takes the same amount of time as getting enough for each round separately. But having the materials already in case of a double or triple spawn helps out a lot.
With the 2x + 1y poison testing, you can skip the cutscene and still figure out which poison works best. The RS Wiki has the full table of remaining HP, but to simplify it, just look at the first digit to determine best poison: 1-2: Poison used twice 3-4: Poison used once 5-6: Poison not used The only time you do not want to skip the trap cutscene is when you are finishing off a dinosaur in a multiple dino encounter. In those cases, skipping the cutscene will somehow turn all your Scorptions/ballistae into rubble.

A dwarven chainaxe works in here, that way you can always get 2 resources instead of 1. And I think the sentinel outfit is great if you go for hunter marks and not for xp because you have an increased success rate.
I may be mistaken as i have noot tried the minigame myself yet but if you just do 2 ballistas in the beginning with 2 different colors you either get 7.5k and 15k which then requires you to use another 3 spears, 7.5k and 30k which would require you to use another 2, or 15k and 30k which wouldalso require you to use another to. So that would be two possible outcomes with 4 spears and one outcome with 5 spears which makes an average of 4.3333 spears instead of 4.5 It might not sound like much but in the long run it should boost xp rates by a bit
By the raw maths yes. But every time you hit with the ballistas you'll lose one. So if you have to go 2->3 you'll have to build an extra ballista overall compared to the 3->1/2. I feel like that would take up more time than the 0.17 less spears/game Probably about the same though

My setup: Full nature sentinel outfit. Crystal hatchet with honed 4. (Should upgrade that to honed5) Excalibur with mobile/wise perk. I have double surge Bladed dive I use pack yak. Master lumberjack aura And perfect JuJu woodcutting potion/flask. Got the T3 bait box/hunter. I mostly risk it to do first Dino in 3hits Sometimes that means you have to use 6spears. I could use magic notepaper, but mostly I take the bait out of pack yak and put it in bait box, deposit the rest (after full Dino or after double spawn)

Mods said on stream yesterday they were considering changing it so failures don't count towards going into hiding. Idk if that's a permanent change, but while people are still learning they agreed it's unfair to fail like 5/6 times in a row and be punished with an hour until reset.
Only thing missing was where can you find every specific tier of dinos on the map. Not THAT big of a deal, but I personally hate running around the map :D
awesome vid dude, tried big game for the first time today on my ironman and this guide with how much depth you go into it really helped out, only 1 thing i guess would of been a tad usefull is maybe how to get to each dino and where what tier is, even though it is on map still would of made it a little more simple :) but thanks for the guide nontheless!

Hunter marks are time-based, so the way to get them the fastest is with multiple (3+) traps at one of these creatures: pawya (southwest anachronia, box trap: papaya bait) grenwall (pavosaurus habitat, box trap: pawya meat bait) yellow salamanders (south of scimitops, net trap: no bait, no regular drops)

you cant bank or take items needed to hunt these dinosaurs out of the encounter (vines, spears, logs). they are removed from your inventory when you leave the encounter area.
You can make 15 spears at the start of your first encounter and use them throughout the hunts, but they'll disappear from your inventory when you leave the area after the insurance is finished.
I cant fucking stand that they keep locking cool skiller perks behind PVM. This looks like hell and I don't want to do this, but looks like I have to for that OP cluescroll buff. Fml
You can earn hunter Marks from hunting other creatures on the island like grenwalls and jadinkos so you don't have to do big game. Seems slower but a nice way to get the rewards if you're not great at big game

Apparently the disconnect was because the t-maul parts get dropped by the wrong dinos

It has been updated. Now it's 5-6 successful hunts per instance.

hunter marks would most likely be fastest by doing actual big game hunter as its active and the more afk stuff will be far slower it seems

You find the compass in a bag on the west beach then add a compas arrow which can be obtained hunting dinos in BGH, give it to Irwinson for 25 marks
