Well done Leon! The delay time is what drew me to this pedal in the first place, glad to see you giving a thorough run through. Many thanks for the shoutout too! 👊
I've been on a deep dive into the old DOD stuff - the stero flanger and phaser are great as well. The blend circuit on the PastFX is a great addition, as is normal power requirements. I love that they called out Dave and Andy...we need a PastFX with a Leon switch now :)
Yet again, Verlie has taken a great old classic and shown how it should have been made in the first place. Even if you’re on the fence about chorus, this one’s just a knock out with so much range and options. I would use that vibrato more but as a subtle back ground wobble. Chorus is the star here though. I could even see using this for some greasy blues or slide. Excellent demo yet again Leon. Thanks!!!
I’m on my 2nd FX65, and for my money, there’s not much than can beat it for a subtle chorus for running into a dirty amp. It does a mean Leslie sound, too; with the delay time control set right, you can actually do the slow Leslie thing, which is a pretty difficult sound to mimic. And you can get another cool effect by turning the speed and depth all the way down, and adjusting the delay time for different frequencies. It’s almost like the filter matrix mode on the Electric Mistress. This is actually one of the recommended settings in the original DOD brochure that came in the box. Apparently, the design is derivative of the CE-2, but it lacks the gooey thickness of the CE-style chorus, which I think is nice, even though I love that sound. The closest thing made to it back then was probably the Ibanez SC10, which likewise had a delay time control.
I clicked your video, not knowing what it was about, and leaned my phone up against the old DOD FX65 on my music stand in the rehearsal room. Sting stirred in his sleep. The original is really surprisingly good. I included it in a chorus shootout I did a while back and a few people liked it the most. The delay time control lets you get into a more transparent doubler situation that preserves the snap of your tele bridge tone.
saw your demo on thepx65 and bought one,...this is the 4th pedal from pastfx that i ve bought since seeing your demos on them,...thnx again,...past fx really does a great job on pedals ... many thnx to both of you
Well this sold me, just ordered one. The Digitech Multi Chorus had beat out every other chorus I have tried, including expensive boutique ones. While I know DOD and Digitech have their differences, they are also one in the same in a lot of ways. I’ve been wanting a newer version of my multi chorus for some time and this absolutely fits the bill. I usually use it as a light chorus/guitar doubler anyway, so this just provides ALL of those options!
Appreciate the continuing quality content and video formats! Man I don’t know what happened with me and chorus. I used to hate chorus with gain, now I basically always have it on 🤷♂️
Great demo - made even better by a little Pat Travers. Just found out about this company. Looks like they make a lot of quality clones of classic pedals.
Man, I've been working my butt off and missing your killer vids. 😭. Man I love that strat and those pickups. For single coils they just sound killer and don't have that spikey treble normally associated with singles. Are those Suhr pickups I'm thinking? I love Chorus. I used to always use it as an always on effect turned almost all the way down or all the way down just to thicken up the sound. It seemed like I got better harmonics as well. I'm trying to quit buying or using so many effects and kinda get back to my roots. Drive pedals don't count. 😂😂. Of course I have to have delay and wah. But, trying to keep it reasonable. 😂 Great sounding chorus and great playing brother. As always. Great video. Thank you for bringing all this useful info to my world sir. ♥️🤘♥️ Be safe and well my friend. ♥️🤘♥️

Thanks mate, and thanks for all the great content and inspiration!

The chorii have aligned! Yeah the delay time control is icing on the cake here

Sounds great Leon!
Frusciante used this chorus on a lot of BSSM when his CE-1 broke.
Oh wow... that chorus is sick !!! Thats my next pedal. You play amazing. Never hitting a sour note .. Keep up the great work
YESSS!

Wow!!! Very nice!!! Also loved your little nod to Pat Travers’ “Snortin’ Whiskey”!!! Totally has that sound. Another cool pedal and video!!!
Yeah that's got early PTB written all over it!
Chorus face and Rush riffs. Enough said \m/
As a modulation junkie (chorus is my drug of choice), I found this to be warm gun fix. Just lovely, especially with dirt and filth.
The delay time knob really let's you dial it on to the sweet spot for the style you need. Wonderful.

Like the sound of the green Eventide chorus a lot too.
I approve of the 'DAVE' mode
😊

Yeah man Suhr Landau pickups! Hope all is well, I've missed ya.
My old H20 chorus (because delay time, and none of the other choruses i own has that control) is huge, sounds great, and is about to be replaced.
I remember the H20 being all the rage around the time I started really getting into gear! Great pedals
There's an internal switch that turns the pedal into the bass version of the pedal.
Amazing! Would be nice to have presets.
CMI Fairlight, most important gear in the modern era. Australian 😎
A stone cold classic!
How close can this pedal get to the Dimension C effect Leon?
es más barato el original xd
I've always wanted to be the first commenter. Success.
They are making some nice pedals. 🛹🌮🌮
