I just finished assembling one very similar to this one. Mine is 6 1/2 feet wide and 15 feet long with the same frame size and design. Mine has a screen layer and plastic layer at each end and the layers have separate zippers to allow a closed screen at the ends. I put treated 2 X 6 around the outside against the frame and on top of the plastic flaps that extend down each side then attached the frame using conduit straps on the inside with screws into the 2 X 6. I also drove 5/8" X 18" steel rods (w/holes) against the 2 X 6 in several places and secured them to the 2 X 6 with screws. I also placed 4" concrete cap blocks along the flap to help hold the plastic tight against the ground. I've saw these greenhouses take flight in heavy winds so I wanted to make sure that don't happen. I built a row of shelves down each side and so far I have been very happy with how it turned out. I have a lot of seedlings inside which will go to the greenhouse in a couple of weeks before going to the garden. I am looking forward to trying a few plants over the next winter inside the greenhouse. Your greenhouse is large so you can put a lot of plants in it. I'm sure you will enjoy using it. Good video and thanks for sharing. Take care.

For that size, I think that’s a great place.

I think I have the same one. It has been amazing so far!

You have the "2nd generation" version of these. These have 1 middle purlin and zippers on each end. The originals had 2 purlins on top which created a lake on top when it rained and so down they would come. I read the horrible reviews on these after some dear friends gave us one when they heard I was going to teach special needs guys how to grow veggies and decided to do what I could to make it last. I installed a purlin middle top, 3/4 PVC hoops that split the existing hoops and a 2x6 base plate that I pegged into the ground. 3 years later I'm changing out the cover. However, you can't buy a replacement cover as of last fall. A friend of mine was wanting to put up one so I bought the whole kit to get the cover and gave him the frame. He's using regular greenhouse film and putting doors on each end for ventilation. If you've ever put up a standard greenhouse you see pretty quick how flimsy the metal is. I ran into a little bit of a discovery this spring when I put a cold frame inside to start some lettuce, spinach, etc. Evidently the green cover acted as a shade cloth and hampered the development of the greens. The test plot I planted outside the cold frame but inside the tunnel is doing better than what was in the cold frame. Yes, these tunnels are cheap but you can make them work. We picked sweet peppers in ours till the end of January.

The way it is on this video won’t stand a chance in a windy storm. Probably has blown away from this early January’s winter storm days. Put a wooden frame on the base then screw down the plastic and it has a chance to last. Good luck.

I live in GA too and have farm and have had this in my Amazon cart forever and been skeptical about buying it but going to go ahead and buy it and see. It shows it comes with screen door too so can leave open to air but dont see it on yours. Did it have 2 layers for doors?

The first good wind you get will send the greenhouse sailing if you don't anchor it down really well I know from experience. The zippers won't last through the first year either. We like ours and are beginning the 2nd season, but those are the short-comings. You WILL find it necessary to build doors on both ends and do something about the screens in the windows. The velcro in the window corners won't last the summer.

Can you buy a replacement cover or what would you do if it rips ?

  • @countrylife392

    The wind ruined mind

  • @CloneRanger

Bro, I'm in Georgia and I have grown in these before and I would suggest you look at some way to move air through the tunnel. Looks like you are surrounded by trees in that spot so air movenemt may become an issue.

Video does not show installation means how os the frame

Yes. They are worth it. The ones with the little white woven square polyethylene covering withstood a year and a half (two summers and one winter at 9,000 ft. Yes, it was reinforced with extra pieces of broken ski poles, duct tape and more duct tape. You can learn a lot from purchasing one of these things, over time, and it is worth it. It will make you think, did the wind just carry it into the neighbors yard, or did a moose run through it? It will physically allow you to design a more permanent structure around it, creating a double-walled barrier that might give you an extra 1 to 2 months in the spring / and or fall. You will get to know the structural failings of them, that is part of the fun. Get two, same design, but different overall lengths, like a 10 x 12 and and a 10 x 16, so you can have all sorts of extra parts down the road. Yes. Explain it to the landlord later.

That's a lot of sq.ft. for the price. I'm curious how well the cover holds up this winter. Keep us informed.
