I have been all over the place, and listened to countless thousands of hours of chiptune music; yours is still by far my favorite, through and through. I've got a big folder of virtually everything you've composed on all of my devices, and it probably gets more playtime than anything else. I'm not musically qualified to even adequately explain what I think it is that you do better than everyone else -- but it's often so relaxing and lovely~ I will never get enough, and always look forward to your submissions and albums~!
The difference here is recorded vs generated music. An mp3 is a recording of music that has been rendered. This is the equivalent of a performance, a musician reading sheet music or playing the song from memory. The instructions for what to play have been entered into the tracker file. The tracker reads the file and performs the notes and commands for each instrument as it encounters them, stepping through. So the data files are super tiny because they're more like the equivalent of text. It's similar to a MIDI file and a MIDI player, only instead of triggering samples, as the midi player will do, this will for the most part trigger actions on synth oscillators etc. (and samples in the DCPM channel)
I used to want to be a filmmaker, and I ended up just falling into the cracks of the corporate society. Eventually, I became a computer programmer. I think I would like to go to England make a short (or long if it was cool too) documentary on Fearofdark. So many of your awesome songs have spoken to me, and they keep calling me back over the years.
I clicked thinking "I dont really like the original song, wonder how this will be" but it works so excellently as an uber sweet chiptune track. Great job!
ive been listening to this on the regular since you first posted it on soundcloud a lot of years ago, and it still blows me away... greatest chiptune cover ever, and much as i love the original, i way prefer your version, its as if seal wrote this tune for you to cover it.
my girlfriend loves singing this song over and over and the daily torture i go through is unbearable and now hearing it in 8bit midi-like form makes it slightly more bearable, thank you.
This actually became one of my favourite chiptune adaptions and never heard of the original until a few months later when I felt like searching it up. Just now I was going to do a voice cover over it (the main voice channel is the 1st square line which can be disabled easily in fami/NSFPlay) but then I realised that it played a bit faster than the original
Heard this on Krelez's chiptune mix and I thought this was a legit videogame OST ,until I found it it was a song written by Seal for a batman movie. Twist after twist!
I looked up Kiss From a Rose Chiptune just because I was curious and oh.. its from FearofDark, one of the artists on the WeeklyTreats... I listened to Drowning in Sleep so much for about year
Awesome work! I listened to it at the normal speed (speed of the original track), but then listened to it at 1.5x, and it was so cool! You should listen to it sped up.
Songs that you have produced, such as Polaris and many others, may I use them in videos without getting copyright? Do I need to give you support in description?
I clicked with high expectations and they were exceeded
haha, me too !
woah, yeah.
who needs drugs, violence, and money when we can all just sit back and enjoy this?
+Tom Who needs violence? .~.
who needs money, eh?
if I run out of money and they block my connection, how am I going to listen to this?
Roddy true.
EXACTLY
I mean a joint with this would be square

Heck, we really have been all over the place.
Seal sends you and your childhood friends on a quest to save the kingdom from an ancient evil.
It's 2020 and I wish I could give this two thumbs up. This cover is just crazy good. I can't imagine anyone arranging it more perfectly.
I love when a song get's chip-tuned, and you can envision where it appears in a game. this sounds very "title screen."
Ikr maybe a title screen on an epic rpg
Or a cutscene?
Facts
A really good example of someone who does great music with virtually nothing
heh
"virtually"
Tim follin did some "1-bit" music with the ZX spectrum.
thats a pretty huge diss to this technology its by no means basic
@@Quills64 comparatively yeah it's basic. It's smaller than an mp3 file
The mp3 would always be larger and by the time it isn't it's unrecognizable.

Sounds like a opening to a JRPG
Or a happy ending. Like, the credits.
You have given me an idea, sir...
*KISS FROM A ROSE*
[PRESS START]
ashura129 I always did like the beginning of the song cause I was like “THIS IS SO EPIC. I FEEL LIKE IM ABOUT TO EMBARK ON AN OCEANIC ADVENTURE

The first English VJ
A beautiful arrangement, full of aural emotion, that only chip can convey.
Listening to your music is like eating red velvet cake while relaxing in a cloud in the sky.
Oh hey I played your sand game.
I clicked thinking "I dont really like the original song, wonder how this will be" but it works so excellently as an uber sweet chiptune track. Great job!
mick maus
That may explain why some songs sound better when hummed.

Well it’s 2022 and this sounds amazing!!
I'm actually crying. This is honest to God BEAUTIFUL.
Seal is jamming to this cover on his car right now.
my girlfriend loves singing this song over and over and the daily torture i go through is unbearable and now hearing it in 8bit midi-like form makes it slightly more bearable, thank you.
2022 here. Still awesome, my friend.
Why wasn't this in the Batman game by Sunsoft!?
Time paradox much?
Ryan Barrett batman forvever was never released on nes
He is talking about the batman movie of tim burton.
Batman Forever (1995) way before 1989 Batman... However this would have been an epic chiptune on gameboy batman forever.
Could be a cool midnight batmobile cruisin through neon Gotham city music
This actually became one of my favourite chiptune adaptions and never heard of the original until a few months later when I felt like searching it up.
Just now I was going to do a voice cover over it (the main voice channel is the 1st square line which can be disabled easily in fami/NSFPlay) but then I realised that it played a bit faster than the original
shit i should do a voice cover of this
This right here is _incredibly_ beautiful. Thank you so much for making it!!
I wonder how does the glide through tones happens ?:) Any clue?!
Kiss from a rose is one of my favorite songs ever so that combined with my love for chip tune and electronic music as a whole was a spectacle🤩
This is the track that made me learn what chiptune was and that I loved it.
Heard this on Krelez's chiptune mix and I thought this was a legit videogame OST ,until I found it it was a song written by Seal for a batman movie. Twist after twist!
thanks joel

You, sir, are a wizard.

I don't know if the cold winter night air or this but i got goosebumps right now.
This is incredible. Wow.
2021 and still listening
I almost fucking cried at 0:23. Never heard anything hit harder than that.
EDIT: Currently shitting my pants ama
such a calming music
sounds like something that would play on the title screen of a really good JRPG
Unofficial Theme to Batman: ArkHam Knight!
This sounds like a chill underwater level.
Great stuff. I love Konami's sounds.
Really cool rendition.
I can’t get Niel Cicerciega’s “Shit” out of my head
Sounds like something that should have been at the end of a SNES Batman game based on the Batman Forever movie
Holy crap this is amazing.
Sounds like something Toby Fox would’ve made
Sounds like something Seal would make.
@@spazzyphantasm hmmmm
@@spazzyphantasm You know, I know a good chiptune artist to cover this...
Indeed.
i can still visualize the batman music video that went with this XD
Sounds like something that can be in a JRPG game
Not even 5 seconds in and already I've pressed the like button. That's how good this shit is.
I'm so happy I found this
I haven’t watched Batman Forever nor I knew about this song until now. Why is it making me so nostalgic?
Are ads suppose to be on these musics covers
this is the best 87 bit version. you should re upload this in higher quality
I've listened to this so many times on soundcloud,
hella awesome!
As always, awesome stuff dude, when's your next album?
Hieronymus di Colonna Cheers :) It's in the works
How do you get the channels that narrow?
SO NOSTALGIC...
Flawless...
I somehow did not realize this was a cover of an actual song. I thought it was just like an rpg village type theme.
What settings are you using to make the display all compressed and concise like that?
Love FOD's jams
This is a pretty amazing cover. Love it!
you did an awesome job at this!!! bravo! 😃👍👏
THIS IS SO GOOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Why OSP never use this version?
This version of music way better than original, vrc6 is awesome

Oh, thats some good stuff.
Awesome work! I listened to it at the normal speed (speed of the original track), but then listened to it at 1.5x, and it was so cool! You should listen to it sped up.

Amazing.
This is amazing! May I request "Eyes Without A Face" by Billy Idol?
man this shit is fucking brilliant
from FDS version of Batman Forever
Master piece
Yay! Nice to see you again on the youtubes heh
In the original song, is it a microtone between the words "know" and "snow"? Pretty sure it's not a semitone.
Love in the Starry Sky - Sky Chase Zone (Kirby Ver.) - Kirby Discovery
Really damn good.
My favorite music :3
This is really great. Hope you do more like it.

Is this technically considered “Kiss from a Tune?”
Will you kiss me if i wear a hat?
What else would it be?
Dang it now I want a Batman Forever JRPG
Songs that you have produced, such as Polaris and many others, may I use them in videos without getting copyright? Do I need to give you support in description?
+NitroDoesGaming Even if you don't have to it would still be a good idea.
Just to show em more support.
Such a moody music...
what program is that????
Outstanding!
feels like game over screen music :^)
I love the sound track of Ugandan Kung Fu.
This is serious!
Everybody in Uganda knows Kung Fu!
How long do these take to make? It seems pretty tedious.
Should of been on Batman forever for snes
