    Thank you so much for this. As others have said, yours was the only video that actually dealt with the float switch being tripped. I mopped up the water in the little reservoir beneath the float valve and the AE code disappeared. You da man!

    Only video on YT that actually helped me with this issue. I was not able to get the float out but I didn't need to, I just soaked up the excess water with paper towels and it worked again..! Not sure how long it will last or why the water pooled in that area but its working now and was an easy fix so thanks.

    You are the Man! It took all of 10 minutes to disconnect, dry and reconnect. All it working fine now!

    I attached a backflow preventer on the disposal dishwasher intake (where the used water from the dishwasher goes). I solved the error code by sponging out the water in the leak reservoir - where the float valve is and cleaned the clear plastic assembly on the left side of the dishwater. I could not remove the float without a fear of forcing it and breaking it so I just mopped it up and prevented backflow into the dishwasher from the disposal which if you don't run it often can cause water to back flow into the dishwasher causing the AE error. This is, I am convinced, the problem most people have with the AE code. I think the switch is fine and probably hard for it to break unless it is manhandled and not positioned back correctly.

    It would been nice to show how you removed that float switch.

    Boom! Popped the cover off. Soaked up the water in the reservoir. Turn the breaker back on. Error code gone. I will follow back up in a month or two. Hopefully it's still good

    Do you know how the water got there in the first place? I did what you did and the problem recurred a week later.

      Hey Mark
      The water got into the area from a sediment backup in the sink.

      @smithredhawk so is that likely because a clogged sink?

      What did you do to fix it

      @@TheBallin24k in my case, merely switching back to Cascade detergent made the whole problem go away.

    How did you clean the clear side area

      I removed the the clear plastic assembly. Then I filled it with soapy water. Did 10 shakes of the assembly. Then poured out soapy water and sediment.

    Did you find out what was leaking?

    • @smithredhawk
      @smithredhawk  2 роки тому +1

      The le code was not from a leak. It was from a backup of water and sediment in my kitchen sink.
      I was running the dishwasher at the time when the trouble began.
