    I recently tried to make my first meal with a dutch oven. Enchiladas. They were a bit of a fail. The temperature of the coals must have been way too hot because within 15 minutes I could smell burning. When I opened the lid to check on them, the parchment paper I had used to line the oven was on fire and the top of the enchiladas were black as can be. 😂 Needless to say, I need a lot more practice. 😂

      We cook almost everything at 350 degrees. So try 8 coals on the bottom and 16 coals on top and just keep an eye on your meal. You may need to rotate your oven every so often so you don't get hot spots. Think the slower the better. Let me know if this helps! Happy Camping! Holly

    Holly , & John I wish I knew how to use a dutch like you guys do . I use mine all the time,, but in my oven at home it's the coal thing . top and bottom. Size of your oven elevation, etc etc, you know what I mean . THANK you Frank from montana.. PS if you ever do an in-depth Video on sizes amount of coals , just. Remember to go slow I will need to write down information......
