  • This incredibly easy camping recipe uses a Dutch oven to cook over an open fire. It's simple and done in one pot and can feed an army.
    I cooked enough for 6 people.
    Olive Oil
    4 chicken breasts cubed
    2 green peppers
    6 pieces of Celery
    1 large onion
    A generous amount of Club House Cajun spice
    Salt and pepper
    4 smokes sausages
    2 cans of Tomatoes
    2 cups of Chicken stock
    1 cup of shrimp
    2 cups of rice
    Fry the chicken in oil. After its cooked throw in your veggies and cook them up. Add the Cajun spice, chicken stock, and tomatoes and let simmer an hour. Throw in your shrimp and let cook 5 minutes and then add the rice, let sit 5 minutes. Dig In!

    Love watching you cook, Frank. Only problem is, my stomach gets to growling halfway through the video! 😂😂😂

    Nice vid Frank. Love some good jambalaya. That oven looks like it's fresh from the box ha ha.

      Hahahaha you caught me. It was a new Dutch oven out of the box. The old one has had its day and don’t have feet like this one to raise it over the coals. This one has a deeper ridge on the lid to hold the coals too.

    Looks great! Going to try it at next family reunion! Music is a bit loud but that doesn't effect how good it looks!

    Good video. Looks delicious! But, to each their own. Every time he mixed it with a metal spatula it made me cringe! I only use wood spatulas on cast iron.

      Hahjhahaha sorry. I cringed to and I was the one doing. When camping gotta improvise when forget stuff home. Lol.

    Looks great! And that looks enough to feed the whole camp. LOL. Surprised at how late in the game rice enters the scene. What kind of rice?

      It was quick 5 minute rice. We were hungry. lol.

    Sausage always goes in first and you use the fat rendered to cook the rest.

    Looks like you made the best of a crappy day. Love it. How big is that dutch oven?

    • @FrankZinck
      @FrankZinck  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure how many quarts. Its one of the big ones from Bass Pro. We always try to have a good time camping, a bad day camping is way better than the best day at work LOL

      @@FrankZinck It looks to be a #12 shallow camp oven. It should be 6 quart capacity. Use andouille sausage for an authentic SW Louisiana flavor.

    Awesome mate! I’m going to try this tomorrow night.. do you pre prepare the veges into bags before you go camping?

    • @FrankZinck
      @FrankZinck  2 роки тому

      Yes we sometimes have everything prepped before we go. But sometimes I do it at the campground with a few brewski’s 😂
