Way to go Wayne. I was in the same rut as you having had no joy with weedless soft-plastics, and was starting to think it was all a crock, with no confidence in the whole set-up, then two weeks ago I got my first one - a nice 52cm on a highly recommend white sparkly (I do love the word 'sparkle') Fishus number as seen here a while ago. Two days later I got a 60cm on the same lure. Needless to say I'm all about weedless soft-plastics now, and can start going through my stockpile. Many thanks for that recommendation sir. Raymondo. Ps. I'm gonna see if I can add a photo here, but we'll see - in the early morning before catching that first bass on the softy, I actually caught a 4lb, 4oz mullet on another of your recommendations - a 10cm Fishus Espetit, which is something I've not heard of before. Anyway, let's try a photo.....
I think it's about finding the right retrieve speed! I have had nothing any any other soft plastic except for a black minnow, slap a fishus soft shad on and WHAMO! a mullet on a surface lure, especially an Espetit is something to be proud of, well done.
The Fishus soft-plastics are cool. The other type I've success with are Keitech Sexy Impact, which I just took a chance on one time. I wasn't sure if the fish were supposed to bite 'em, or shag 'em, based on the title, but they work too. They're a really supple, flat sided/oval shaped, bottom heavy, ribbed pintail, which wibble really nice. As with the Fishus ones, I use weedless, or with a Mepps type spinner upfront (sans the treble and attached to the weedless hook via a split ring) to add a bit of business if I get bored, and find that that extra bit of business does work while remaining pretty weedless. Anyway, there you go, and many thanks. Raymondo.
Wayne , this may help you ! It did me .. I was catching well on black minnow at Poole entrance when a chap asked could he fish by me as I was catching, I said yes and he smashed it with the same lure and colour! The difference was he was using a lure twice the size off mine ! I believe he was doing better as my lure was same size as the bait fish ! His lure was more appealing as it was a bigger meal ! For the same effort for the fish ,, cracking watch as normal 😊
Wayne, be careful bro, moments like than change your day. Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks man and smashing some silver with you. Great video. Speak soon, and Tite Lines G
Will check it out!! One more thing sorry to bother you 😂 but after looking at rods it will say the casting weights but then it says the length does it make much difference??? Cheers
Great vid as usual. Have you tried with the FBM with a steady retrieve and 1 tap per second or maybe 2 taps per second. Seems to yield the best results for me. Taps can be vertical or sideways.
