    In your parts list you have a repeated part. Is there something missing from the list or is the list 8 different items not 9?
    Also, it said free plans but you have no plans? Are crossover plans/build going to be available as well?

    It seems to me a better idea would be to essentially cut that in half and have two speakers to mount on each side of the TV, maybe rigging up some kind of mounting system that uses the VESA mounts.

    Nice build, thanks for sharing. It seems that your build and production (both speaker and video) skills have increased significantly over these past few years. I'm curious if you would do anything differently now compared to then. Same size and dimensions? Are you happy with the performance of it now that it's been in use? Would you choose different speakers?

    Thank you so much for the content you post! I am planning a passive center channel based on you soundbar (but shorter) because of its form factor. I used your crossover design to walk through WinPCD and XSim with the help of your crossover series with episode 7 having particular relevance. When using this as a center speaker in a 5.2 set-up, do you think it would be advisable to ad a high-pass to the woofers to protect them or am I over thinking this?

    Just came across this video and found the Parts-Express thread. In the thread, you say that you can substitute Electrolytic Capacitors if on a budget, but you wouldn't recommend it; however, your parts list links to the Electrolytic Capacitors. Where would I find the ones you actually recommend? Also, you mention internal vs non-internal amplification. If you are using a A/V Receiver, would you need supplemental amplification? Would it hurt to have the built-in amplification if running off a receiver?

    Marvelous design and video. A little light on XO, however, which brings up my newbie puzzle: your XO schematic shows three speakers: two M, one T--but the soundbar has (obviously) six. Did you build two XOs? And how to wire them--series or parallel connection to the CC output from the power amp? Thanks in advance.

    • @Toid
      @Toid  6 років тому

      I'm not sure what you mean, that the soundbar has six? Each side is wired to one side of an amplifier. The description has a link to my web-site which gives all the wiring information, box and everything. Feel free to check it out. It should answer all your questions.

    • @TimpBizkit
      @TimpBizkit 6 років тому

      Two crossovers. It's a stereo speaker so one crossover with the input connected to one channel of the amplifier and the woofer output to two parallel woofers and the tweeter output to the tweeter.
      Repeat for the other channel of the ampllifier.

    I want to build a passive sound bar that house the central and two front speakers for my 5.1 system, so I will build as you have done and just use the centre section for the centre speaker unless there is any reason why I shouldn't.
    Thanks for sharing and sub'd 🙂

      Just to keeping it simple like a all around crossover for the 4 inch Dayton woofer and a Dayton tweeter. Like a crossover you like to use for these speakers.

    • @Toid
      @Toid  7 років тому

      I put out the crossover series for those who want to learn how to build their own crossovers, which is most preferred. I know it can be daunting, but is very reqarding. If you want me to design a crossover for you, I offer that service via my Etsy store which is located here: www.etsy.com/shop/123Toid?ref=shop_name_search_sugg However, I personally would rather people learn themselves, you get much greater satisfaction from that. I hate to charge, but too many people ask me to design them one and I do not have the time to do that.

      It all depends on the amplifier you choose. Some have IR ad power on them, so you can use a remote control. However, my television has a variable audio out, meaning I can use the television remote and volume to control whatever device is hooked up to it.

    • @Toid

      No problem, we all have to start somewhere. You basically need to get an amplifier that has bluetooth built-in or buy an eternal bluetooth module to hook up to the amplifier. If you go with a board amp something like this would work: www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-kab-230a-2x30w-class-d-audio-amplifier-board-with-bluetooth-40--325-102

    If you merge the two sides to make a single center channel speaker, does the impedance become 4 ohm? New to this, great video btw

    • @Toid
      @Toid  6 років тому

      Thanks! I appreciate it. I can't wait for you to see my other videos :) Actually, the way I have it wired right now, is both sides have two 8 ohm woofers wired in parallel, thus dropping their impedance down to 4 ohms (per side). So if you wired both sides together in series, you would get a nominal 8 ohm load. However, you would have to change the crossover.

    ie PART 1 - TWEETER - Dayton Audio ND25FA-4 1" Soft Dome Neodymium Tweeter - required 2 off
    PART 2 - Woofer - .......etc
    A picture or 7 showing the electrical assemble and an explanation of what the parts did. to me the circuit diagram was very bafling. 10% on the woodwork and 90% on the selection of parts and wiring up would have been better.
