I'm so pleased I found your channel. I'm 62 years old and find some things hard to keep up with. My iphone 14plus has just had the new 18 upgrade and I can't tell you how easy you have made it for me. You go through it slowly enough for me to keep up as I'm also a disabled lady. I never knew I could press the volume buttons to take burst photos or any photos for that matter. I also love I'm typing this while listening to my rain background noise that you taught me how to do. Thank you so much young man your amazing ❤️
I got to say, I follow you for some time now, and you are by far the best iPhone reviewer out there. Your instructions are literally for everyone, someone who is knew to iOS, or a more experienced user. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to more of your videos in the future, especially like this one. Even though I've been using iPhones for years, there is always something I forgot or didn't know about.
@@GT-ho6co That doesn’t always work. There’s a Surgery Center that tried to call me about my upcoming surgery. They were not in my contacts. It was awful.
I see it being most ideal in a professional context, not necessarily personal. Something one might use on their work phone (when one is expected to answer every call) - specifically with the Bluetooth, though. On speaker could result in some less than ideal scenarios. Lol
My case from Otterbox had a very nice quality to it, it's matte black so it wouldn't have that problem anyway. But I heard their transparent cases don't turn yellow...
I used to consider myself above average when it comes to using using features that others don’t know about. But with each IOS update I find myself hopelessly behind discovering and using hidden gems. Your videos are so helpful to fill that void. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip. I added background sounds immediately. FYI, while you are still in the background sounds when pulling up the control panel and hit the plus button, it automatically puts the background sounds button without needing to search. It did it for my iPhone SE 2022 running 18.1.1.
Reader pdf option tends not to work if you try to send through gmail. It seems to work if you send the pdf to notes first and then send it on from there.
I knew about the burst for pictures, but forgot how to make it work, so I was delighted to see a reminder here! I love your videos and whenever I see one pop up, I'm excited to watch because I always learn something. Thanks!
I knew a few but good reminder. I Use the camera app on my watch when taking group pictures so I can be in the photo. I find if it will always take a burst photo. Not sure if this is the default or if it cane turned off but I find it useful because there is always someone with closed eyes etc.
Wow. Thanks for the Reader PDF tip. That’s perfect for archiving interesting information. Thanks for the burst photo reminder and the tips to use it more effectively too. Great information.
Excellent video. I realized that two subscriptions I had were month to month. I probably did this to test them out. But I’ve been using them for a while and you said check all plans! Voila….i just saved a lot going to yearly payment. Many thanks!
5:09 As I listen to you explain that, it made me remember that I’ve been able to do that for quite some time in Gmail and even in Microsoft Outlook on the PC.
I watch all of your videos as soon as I can find them. These tips are invaluable! Now, if you had a tip to help me remember all those tips when it’s time to use them!!! 😂😂😂
Tom it amazes me how much you cover in these short and sweet videos. As a “tech dummy” I know I don’t get as much out of my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch as I could, but I always find something useful on your channel. I even managed to sign up for the PDF guide you announced with -get this- the scan QR code in the iPhone camera! You rock! Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA
Hiya Tom, another Kentonian here and proper Geek 😂 I just wanted to say that I really love watching your videos on iPhone capabilities… I always think to myself “Oh he’ll be repeating himself here…” and then I watch it and every time I’m blown away by what my phone can do ( iPhone 15 Pro here 📱). I love it when you show me stuff that’s just pure genius, like sending a webpage as a clean PDF or have your phone answer a call by itself… Genius 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for taking the time to find this stuff for us and then explaining it perfectly for us in your videos 🙏🏼 I’ve never been one for subscriptions, patreon or buy me a coffee, but you deserve it 🤙🏼 Would love to meet for a real coffee as I’m only in Brompton Barracks 😉☕️
Great video! I often use the “hold space bar” to correct mistakes etc. but I never knew you could tap to go to “highlight mode” I thought Apple got rid of the feature as previously you could force press the space bar to highlight!
Thank you! Amazingly, there were at least four tips that I was not aware of, mostly relating to the text and space bar. Others I had heard you mention before, but I forget them if I don't use them.
OMG the easy way to send a reader friendly pdf of a web article I wish I new years ago. Brilliant thank you! 🙏 Will your new portal with iPhone tips and tricks require a subscription?
If you are anything like me, you might protect the number of channels you subscribe to...I know I sure do. This channel is one that I have been keeping my eye on in my feed as I have watched a few. Over the past week or two each and every video I watched was interesting and I had at least one 'take-away.' This video cemented it for me and I have "smashed" the Subscribe button. Absolutely worth following!
Excellent. Thank you for doing all this research and sharing with us. It really makes a difference. You do such a good job of sharing just enough for me to absorb. I love the background noise feature.
On thing that’s often forgotten is that “tap and hold the spacebar” doesn’t turn just the KEYBOARD area into a trackpad, it turns the ENTIRE SCREEN into a trackpad. (Works the same for iPad of course.)
Open the camera app on your phone and point it at the QR code. After a second you should see a link appear on the camera app to take you to the website. 👍
@@bjsloane I have now re-read it as requested and I feel I answered it, where do you feel I went wrong? I am happy to hear if.I have missed something. EDIT: Oh! I find that burst photo is always set on my iPhone 13 and find it quite annoying. Is there an easy way to turn it off, can't find it in settings. Thanks for a great video with lots of great tips.
As always, excellent tips! I’m grateful for your videos. I pause the screen and follow along so I can replicate. I see the options button when I selected part of a Safari page. I like to understand my choices, so I won’t change it until I know if there are ramifications, but here is the answer: “If you're seeing only "PDF View" under the options in Safari's PDF reader and not a separate "Reader View" option, it likely means your Safari settings are configured to use the native PDF viewer, which might not have a dedicated "Reader View" feature; you might need to check your browser settings to enable a plugin like Adobe Reader to access a more robust "Reader View" option.”😳
Thank you for several useful tips. I tip number 6 sharing web content as PDF, i do not have the option of send as Reader PDF. Do anyone have an idea on how to get that option?
Just wanted to comment in general, not specifically to this video. Thank you!!! Your videos are very informative and have helped me in many different ways. Very good tips, I was unaware of most of them. Question though. Is there an easy way to Clear History and Website Data in Safari? With this new iOS, they’ve actually added a step. Now, I have to go to Settings, scroll down to Apps, scroll down alphabetically to Safari, then scroll down to Clear History and Website Data, then select All History and Close All Tabs, then select the red Clear History button. Ugh ! There’s got to be an easier way.

The auto-answer feature would be great but if only for people in your contacts.
That’s where silence unknown callers comes in. When turned on anyone who isn’t a contact just gets sent to voicemail
