The thing is that what we have is only the beginning and it will improve. Sure the cartoon look of image playground is not for everyone but it’s fun and a certain demographic will love it. There is always illustrator mode which is more true to life, but few reviewers cover it preferring to mock the cartoon option. Genmoji is very useful, again for a certain demographic. Access to chatGPT and apple intelligence is already very useful and getting better with each update be it an apple update or an openAI update. The AI writing tools are also very useful and the photo editing is very good even compared to other smart phone offerings especially as it’s all done on device
ChatGPT integration is fantastic. I think Genmoji is fun and will get better as well. I think you’re being too harsh on the feature. Image Playground requires time to get better, and there is certainly much room for improvement. Remember, anything that is copyrighted will not be created. Even though it’s Apple, the “iPhone” is a copyright and Apple didn’t want to make an exception for themselves. The illustration and image one feature are quite good. Maybe something to look into in the future video. Love your videos!
This is outrageous! Firstly, Apple Intelligence was originally promised with the introduction of iOS 18 with no mention of iPhone 15 & 16 exclusivity. Secondly, integrating Siri with ChatGPT can be done on ANY iPhone running iOS 18. I integrated Siri with ChatGPT, via a shortcut, to run on my iPhone SE 2022 running iOS 17! All I say is "Siri, I have a question" and ChatGPT is activated. This integration should come as a standard feature to all newer iPhone users.
I think you missed that if you switch off “confirm chat got requests” in the settings, you don’t need to keep hitting the ‘ask chat gpt’ button or typing your shortcut?
Settings - apple intelligence and Siri - scroll down to extensions and click chatGPT - scroll down and toggle the option to confirm Chat GPT requests OFF. Use Siri as normal, it will identify if the request is too complex and ask chatGPT automatically.
I have iOS 18.2 on my iPhone 15 pro Max I live in the UK but often when I ask ChatGPT a question it says “please try later” sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t very unreliable, I just wondered if you had the same issue or anyone else ?
I found running my vpn (Surfshark) was an issue for ChatGPT through Apple Intelligence. I turned this off and it works fine but not ideal if you want vpn on all of the time. I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro.
I have been surprised about the amount of time other UA-camrs have devoted to trivial stuff like drawings. I agree with you. The update was uninspiring.

When I go into Apple Intelligence and Siri, there is no option to enable Apple Intelligence. While I wish I lived in Ireland, Germany, Slovakia, or Greece sadly I am in fact in the UK. So I don't understand why I am not given the option. I just have the same old Siri as always. Fully up to date too.
@@Bill-YellowDogWelding It's available in more places now. I just figured out the issue. US English not required. It was that I had Irish English set up somewhere on my iPhone and that was the main issue. I've managed to resolve that but I can still keep my proper Siri voices in lovely Irish accents. 😄
In fact, in "impostazioni" (= settings), under Siri, etc., it is stated that here (Italy) the system doesn't yet support AI (this on a 15 max pro). (Sigh)!
Image playground is just like using regular emojis or GIF. Is just something that’s there for fun not a ground breaking feature. I don’t understand the negativity or focus on it from UA-camrs. Do you cry about having the option to use GIF to express how you feel sometimes? No you don’t so if you wanna use it cool if not then that’s ok too 😂 but is better to have things then not. Kids and teens are huge for phone sales and my daughter loves it even though I’ll never use it.
I’m giving up on Playground. I managed to make a couple of caricatures. They were very silly and so immature. I’m obviously not the correct demographic.
@ being able to use it as many times as you’d like in a day with no daily limit without having to pay $30 a month. Pay maximum amount to get everything chat gbt has to offer. There should be an in between.
Excellent video as always thank you. It also reminded me again how bad apple has become and I’m an Apple fanboy. Zero innovation and a company now led by misleading marketing strategy that pushes devices aimed to just use up backlogs of old parts and hold back things for next years model. Time for Timmy and his cronies to pass the baton to new leaders
You might think it obvious but it would be interesting to know how “American” chat GPT is. Some of your examples used the dreadful American term “reaching out”. Does it know biscuits are not cookies and what pants are. If this is an example of how it works I for one won’t be using it.
Apple is really behind on this, and why they partnered with OpenAI in the meantime. The hope is that an improved Siri version is coming next year. But it will take years before it can catch up

Simply put, an excellent video, with easy to follow narration. Was it made with Chat GPT? Just joking. Thkx for this. Well done.
You can also say “Ask GPT”, (ie don’t bother with the word “chat”) to make the request shorter.
You are the best at explaining all this stuff - - thank you very much

great video
And here we are in Australia without the ChatGPT extension yet.
Image playground is a waste of time and space and kinda makes apple look like a Disney tech company rather than premium tech
17:11 replace iPhone with smartphone and it should work, and it will show an iPhone. Same with MacBook/iMac etc.
Played with image playground ... and it's not very versatile - and it's 'conversion' of images to characters is not all that representative.

Region doesn't matter... Only selecting US English language works for accessing AI!
You can’t use specific brands like iPhone or Corvette with Apple Intelligence, instead you’d have to say cell phone or sports car.
Playground doesn’t support brand names. If you had asked for an image of a young man messaging on an smart phone you would have got a result

Yes but to use chat gbt to the full extent you need to pay $29.99 a month. There should be an in between free and $30 a month.
Define “full extent”? Because like I explained in the video, the free GPT is absolutely perfect for almost all situations.

Image playground is one of the dumbest things Apple has done. I deleted it on day 1 and never looked back.
I can’t get it to work either. Not very intuitive at all for Apple.
Works for me and I have used it several times. If you weren’t creative before the app, you won’t be after.
