Love your tips mate , but just wondering if there is a way to get Siri to turn off the screen without shutting down ?
I have tried it sometime in the past and got the response “ I can’t do that “ from Siri .
I know the iPhone will turn off on its own in X amount of time , but if you turn your iPhone on and off a lot , it’s handy to save some battery by turning the screen off immediately with a voice command if you are busy.
      Cheers.

Siri tips are my favorite set of videos that you do. As a woman of advanced years, I use Siri a lot, and I have always wished that Apple would put out a continuingly updated set of functions that they have given to Siri, or, as is frequently the case, that they have taken away from Siri. I spent several days searching Apple-centric forums, trying to find out if Apple had actually taken away the feature where Siri could search photos by objects or dates, etc. I finally found somewhere that said that that feature was taken away. After I had spent quite a while looking, because it was a feature that I used very frequently with my over 10,000 photos. Please keep the Siri updates going whenever they come out which admittedly is not often enough. Thanks a lot! 0:06

I think this Siri-only restart method is pretty cool, but also potentially dangerous. Imagine someone else forcing your phone to restart at opportunistic times. It could stop you from calling for help or otherwise. Could be combined with other techniques/exploits/social engineering to aid in crimes. I love it as a feature, but there needs to be an option to turn it off considering it could potentially be a security issue for people.

Like most people, I regularly turn my phone to silent if I am in a meeting/show, etc. However, I frequently forget to un-silence it after the event, and end up missing calls/messages. Is there anyway - using Siri or other - to silence the phone for a period of time? Or maybe because this is a physical button (iPhone 11) this is not possible.

I'm not disagreeing with you btw, genuinely interested as to why you'd prefer numbers to be read out as a sequence.

You can only have one timer. However, If you use the term alarm… Check out below:
Set my lasagna alarm for 50 minutes
Set my garlic bread alarm for 15 minutes
It will create named alarms that will expire that far in the future.
Helpful if you are making a large meal. The only downside is that it creates each of these is a named alarm and they can stack up. But you can ask Siri to delete alarms.

The problem with taking a photo and the “say cheese” command is it doesn’t work if the camera app is opened and if that is the case, how does one adjust the photo beforehand? I want to be able to adjust the photo composition, then step into the location and speak to words “hey Siri say cheese”

The "hey siri restart my iphone, yes" is a little scary, like you could mess someone up by doing it to theirs. Reminds me of a kid from the 70s who used to love pushing the reset button on other kids' digital watches. LOL

I just learned you can have Siri adjust the brightness on your phone by saying turn up the brightness or turn down the brightness. I like to use Siri to scan through my music when it's a really long song. I say Siri, scan forward one minute.

I tried restarting my iPhone with a Siri Command. It worked but required me to confirm by tapping. I tried it once by invoking Siri with the side button and once by saying 'Hey, Siri" ... the result was the same. Saying "Yes" did not complete the process in either case. FYI

How do you get Siri to stop yapping after completing commands? When I say “lights out” and then the lights go out, I don’t want to hear “Okay, the scene is set” every time. Too much backtalk.

I used Siri to make a contact my sister. Her name is Eileen, but Siri can’t recognize me saying that so I entered Ilene in the phonetically section, but now Siri recognizes it correctly but moves it’s location in my contact list from e to I. Is there a way to stop that?

There are some apps that use passes in the wallet and the passes raise the screen brightness, but sometimes there is glitch after you close the app where the screen goes 100% black and your stuck there tapping your screen trying to raise the brightness. People forget that you can just have Siri raise it. Siri sucked for so long and still pretty much does so many people never ever use it cause the one time they tried it sucked so they said forget this.
That is one barrier Apple has to overcome, not to other barrier of not having Siri suck so much.
