Hey slick! Just want you guys to be aware of something. I subscribed and it seems like there is a problem with being unsubscribed automatically for some reason. Make sure you let your subscribers know to keep an eye on it. Happens all the time. Keep up the great work you guys are killing it grow grow grow!
Same with me. I read your post so I checked my subscription and I was "unsubscribed". Same thing happened on Puddin's channel a couple years ago. "DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS FOLKS"!
RIGHT ON SLICK YOUR DOING GREAT YOUR ACTUALLY A NATURAL BROTHER 💯AND THE WORK YOU DID ON THAT LOWER FENDER DEAL YOU GOT THAT TO MATCH UP PERFECTLY NOW THAT WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSIVE YOU GO SLICK 50
A OK! Nice work Slick! I'm trying to pick up a few of your tips. You really need to concentrate when you're trying to do such detailed work and it'd be frustrating if people kept walking in the shop all day!
Jonathan W cut out those slopes on his 35. Double curves of the metal obviously are hard to shape. He built like 6 inch pieces at a time from the bottom of body to the passenger compartment. Good work Slick.
WOW that "golden fleece" sign with 550 miles on it is old very old and extremely rare he in Australia ! Australia changed to kilometers in 1947 WW2 SO that sign is older than that . I cant believe someone gave that away congratulations
Just a suggestion on your dies... try waxing instead of oiling them (my old man always used tree wax, a hard carnuba wax to keep machines in the shop from rusting) We would steel wool and wax them once a year.
FYI look into industrial strength Velcro you nearly need plyers to pull it apart. same goes for duct tape and i guess a lot of other products, the stuff we get in the local hardware stores etc is domestic rubbish. think industrial when you need strength. 💪🤘
I put the wide painters tape around my English wheel until I use it again and it keeps the rust off of it. I depends on the moisture in the area you keep it in as well.
Slick it amazes me that UA-camrs have to mention that people shouldn't just stop by it bewilders me that people think they have the right to trespass on private property when you know damn well they'd be pissed off if someone trespasses on their property
We do love our supporters, and we get it. The main point is the unscheduled part is difficult to handle and we don't want to be rude telling people that "now isn't a good time". You know? For the most part I think our people like you understand without it being said, but there is the ones that don't. Thank you for watching
Possibly you could try a leather mitt fitted over the die on aluminium? Like rawhide so it doesn't hammer through the mitt. IIRC it can be wetted and shaped , held in shape until dried & it holds its shape, Like shoes do. Those marks are galling between steel and the softer aluminium as it moves after being smacked yeah!? The sheetmetal tradesmen of times now gone, had a leather faced hammer and a leather maul in the tool box.
@@OKspeedandcustom I grow up small town called Tonasket in Washington with a population less than 1000. And even though we had quite a few rich cattle ranchers and orchardist kids in there, we maybe had two people that built hot rods when I went to school.
Hey slick! Love the videos man! Keep it up been learning a lot from you. Hey quick tip on that English wheel. Get you a couple shop rags soaked in the oil you like and wrap them around your wheel strap it with a bungee cord or something should keep the rust off the surface.
Slick 50, you are an artist with sheet metal! Gonna enjoy watching the channel grow! Been watching PFS for years and always love watching what you all do.
Congratulations on the 25k! I can tell your a perfectionist when it comes to your metal and body work, you get done and it looks better then what old Henry did new👍! I'm the same way with detailing and putting vinyl decals on cars I'll spend half a day to sand and paint one part lol. Maybe try a dehumidifier in the shop if ya don't have one already they help alot in my garage.
@OKspeedandcustom I do lol it takes alot of time that's why it's difficult to work for shops they want everything rushed, truly exceptional work takes time wich is deff what you do ya earned that 25k! Tell Charlie I hear him I feel like I never sit down some days lol.
So happy to see you with your own channel love you collabs with puddin but this really teaching new skills and showing just how good your are. Hope there are a bunch of 18 year olds watching and picking up these skills
Slick Fitty - PUddin does not give you enough credit - you are a true metal craftsman. Keep on Keepin ON! the memories at the old guys' shop - astounding. And Wild BILL!!
I mean it slick I’ve seen a lot of metal work and you pay attention to detail more than anyone else. You can’t even tell you did anything, it’s just that good.
This fellas, is the difference between real body work and cover up work! Most people would not have removed that panel and not deal with the rust behind it. They would have just Bondoed it and said good enough. I will bet half the cars on Barret Jackson and all of the famous tv shows are rusted behind the fender just like this and nobody knows until it rusts back out in a couple of years. Thank you, Mr. 50, for showing the right way to do this!
