Yes I learned something. I know enough to do a down and dirty dent removal. Before it was 2x4 and a hammer. I'll save the expert work for the experts like you. Enjoyed the video, so now I subscribed. More Slick, more Puddin...
Well Charlie you’re definitely looking more comfortable on camera and thanks for sharing your friends vehicle collection with us, I always look forward to seeing slick 50 teach us more about metal working I’ve always been interested in metal work but just afraid to try it worried that I would cause more damage than repair but I am pulling one of my great grandfathers cars out of the ditch on my family’s property this winter and we’ll see what happens. God bless y’all and your families
The Lincoln that you looked at in Plainview TX was the property of Dr Glenn Cosby of Miami Oklahoma at one time. He was the proprietor of 45 Ranch Enterprises.
Slick I just want to say you are a talented young man. You are teaching this old man new things. I have a channel up. Back a year ago or so when you had some tornado damage I donated to you. Puddin said on his channel that you had a lot of donations and that a couple of fans donated a grand. I was one of those two people. I really enjoy watching you do your thing.. I'm currently a full time trucker and really don't think my channel will go far but who knows.. Keep up the Great work.. Maybe one day I will get to meet you.
That's absolutely ironic if you ask me because I use to see a canary yellow etching primer 67 Pontiac lemans convertible with new replacement gto quarters and tailight valance panel it had mostly red doors, blue fenders just bolted on it mocked up, and light blue hood and it was a hood someone reworked the cowl vent from a 65 gto into the 67 lemans...
Slick, thanks for showing your technique on how to work metal. It's really cool to see how you can take a heap that's been beat on for 90 years and make it look brand new again. I'm 41 and just got my first hammer and dolly set to try my hand at it.
Halibrand aluminum magnesium slot wheels western cyclone and cyclone 2 turbine type wheels,, torq thrust and cragar ss and rocket screamers, and Chevy truck rally and Camaro third gen 15 inch aluminum z28 wheels are definitely some of my favorite wheels
Good evening from Cape Cod ⛵Wow, your buddy has quite an impressive collection Charlie, thanks for bringing us along 👍 Slick, the work that you do is really impressive, it's as if the damage never existed. Thanks for another awesome video guys ✌️🇺🇲
Would it be easier or better to just cut out that area and put a new piece of metal? I would think the metal would get thin with all the hammering. Like the metal work, it’s interesting.
Replacing metal is always an option! In this situation we want to keep as much of the OG metal as possible. The hammer and dolly method shown here is manipulating the metal back to the original shape.
I've known many of a hoarder that passed away clinging desperately to every piece of junk. This guy is smart enough to reap some of his investments and spare his family the honors of indiscriminately hauling it to the dump.
I'm willing to bet he doesn't sell much of anything. He just wanted someone to video so he could show off his hoard. That is what these guys thrive, it is a mental sickness and the majority of that will still be there on his last day on this lump of rock.
There's lots that I saw that I've like to buy... Except I'm about 5 years away from having a good work area/shop space... Only because I'm planning to move in less than 5 years to a place with more land.
My dad had a 78 anniversary trans am it had hurst t top glass and my 81 t top Oldsmobile cutlass supreme calis was supposed to have hurst t top glass in it but I never checked it
Hit the subscribe button! Always loved seeing Slick on Puddins channel. I remember seeing Charlie on the Austin trip. Hilarious. Hope the best for y’all on your UA-cam journey.
Really enjoy watching Slick do his magic! Does any body shop fix dents like this, or do they all just put filler over it? Slick makes it look so easy, but I'm sure there's a lot of technique to it. I'm still trying to figure out how the dolly pushes the low spots up when the hammer strikes.
Think of it as the dolly guiding the metal back to its original shape and the hammer is the force that pushes it. This is why the sweep gauge was used to determine the curve of the panel and the dolly was chosen that matched that curve.
My younger brother used to have a burnt orange 74 chevy custom 10 long bed 350 2bbl th350 automatic transmission and non power brakes or steering it was a rough truck someone had grey primer the entire truck, motor, grille body panels headlight bezels taillights bumpers wheels and tires..
That kind of bodywork is an art I never was good at it. The Cambodians out of Fresno were the best but dammm slick 50 for your age your pretty slick. lol. 😂😂
alrite slick im from the uk names steve, slick its good to see you showing the other side of doing cars the love and attention that goes into body work i wish you would have convinced pudding to sort that merc out even if he ratted it and bagged ls swap that wouldve been the dogs bollocks, good luck to you and your pal hope the channel goes well for you
That yellow ram charger just does it for me! I would love it if I had the $ and ability to get that thing going again! I'm disabled & on fixed income but a guy can dream! Lol... super glad yall started your channel! ✌️from Ohio!
Dave sure got all the projects 🤩 love watching a good rummage through quality stuff followed up with technical expertise from slick hammering out dints ❤love this content 💯👌🍀
Charlie good video thank you for sharing. Listen to older guys talk about their car stuff makes my day. My olny request would be to move the camera slower.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. I was in sensory overload! I will work on that! Truth be told I wanted to ditch the camera and just enjoy seeing David's collection while visiting with him but we were short on content this week. Thank you for watching!
This was great 👍 thanks y’all an slick can you show where to put the dolly n where you hit at I think I no but not to sure but a how too close up would be helpful an just got me a 49 shoebox with a 4 inch chop an slanted Bpilers it’s a little rough in floors but the panels are straight thanks again yall for all yall do for the hot rod community 😎🤙🏼

Cool visit Charlie, maybe consider a more directional mic to cut out some of the ambient noise. Slick, I'm really learning more at 64 to be a better metal guy and not rely on filler as much.
Hey Slick, I missed my calling. Raised around roofing and sheet metal trades. My brother and I would pound on metal in the shop until it drove my dad Crazy. Then we'd have to stop or our backsides got pounded with a belt!!!! LOL
Excellent content, and you guys are spot on. So happy to have your channel jump up and start running! Keep em comin….
Appreciate the support Vincent!
David if you read this, Thank you for allowing us to see all the cool stuff you've managed to put together.
I hope he does watch!!

Cool tour. Great instruction. Consider defining body work terms, like wiping and hammer on, for those of us that don't understand. 🤔
When he mentioned wiping he was referring to a skim coat of body filler.
Love what you do with the metal...M M M ( master metal manipulator ) !!
