Being self aware of being the main character of a cartoon is probably the most OP super power, because then you have to worry about pretty much nothing, at least until the series’s ending.
Imagine, though: going through a lifetime (or however long it is between the main character realizing who they are and the end of the series) of being completely carefree, reckless, and then suddenly, you're in the last episode, and you realize, you actually have to be careful now.
He doesn’t not care about his mom dying, he’s just excited to see his new power level because “personal tragedy makes me more powerful” is a common trope.
He couldn't pull the trigger. The villain. He just couldn't. That was the moment he realized, that the hero was not the only one with plot-armor. He couldn't end it, the prophecy was set in stone. He couldn't die, not until THEY, allowed him to. You can gain plot armor if you see in the future when you will die. Because that way you will become immortal until the day that you have seen that you will die. So you gain plot armor
The main character realizing that the writers gave up on him when he realized he had plot armor, feeling shame and regret for he did out arrogance, knowing now he can't use the seal. Being forced to watch as villain fights several afterlife gods, as show continues following the villain. Knowing one day he'll meet the same fate he thought the villain, fighting desperately to gain any powers he can hoping he can regain the spot of the main character, but deep down knowing that it's all pointless:
Funny thing is, I’ve actually written a fanfiction with this concept. A major character becomes fully aware of the fact that he has plot armor and is jokingly treated as a god by the narrator, which results in said major character developing a god complex and getting himself involved in dangerous stuff that would normally kill him. I’m pretty sure there’s more than one example of him getting shot and being perfectly fine.
"That would normally kill him" Like, yeah, I suppose... but isn't not dying to those situations kind of the point? Sort of like One Punch Man? The main character knows he's going to live, and he does. He knows he will win, and he does. You might've meant to phrase that as "stuff that would kill a normal person" instead lol. If he's unkillable, then there is no possible situation in which he would normally be killed!
