For sure. The only reason it wasn't a trend before is people didn't know how easy it could be. That was certainly my case. I could only do face framing on the sides, but couldn't do much with the back.

Hey, I have really thick, curly hair and was thinking of doing this as my hair is always in my face. Its driving me insane! 😭 Would this be an ideal cut for someone with my hair?

It's what we used to call a Gypsy Shag cut. Been my style all this time. XO
Yes-a pony straight up, and cut straight across gave the perfect shag in those days, short or long.
I sure wish I had known that in the early 70’s when a classmate in the dorm decided she knew how to cut a “shag”!

I'm curious about the variation in the front/back parting. In the hidden ponytail cut, the parting lands just behind the ears. In the regular, two ponytail wolf cut, it's landing just in front of the ears. Can you tell us what that difference means for how the hair falls and the sections transition? Thanks!

Ok, I watch a few of these chosen the 3 minute wolf cut. The front turned out really nice. The back not so much. Think I had the ponytail in the wrong spot. But it is still better then the broken split ends from b 4. Thank you subscribing.

Hi Coco I wouldn't cut in ponytails in salon, I section out the same, but have more precise smaller sections to achieve a better look.
Can you do one of a wolf cut but with microbangs...I really want those bangs but don't know how to cut em properly. 😔

Two things: how does this end up looking with thin and fine hair? How do you adapt the process for a side part? Sorry, but a lifetime of hair parted in the center for the cut followed by lopsided layers has left me questioning the skills/knowledge of “professionals”. I am past 70 now, and in my entire life there has been ONE stylist who made adaptations based on my hair type and growth patterns
( straight down left side, up and to the side on the right). A little sweat, a little humidity, a lot of end-of-day oiliness: really wonky hairline with some interesting cowlick bits.
Great cut! I agree with your comments, and I will add to that. This cut is a very sexy and carefree cut, and since we always put a little bit of ourselves into the cuts that we make, I say, “Sexy is as sexy does”!! LOL. Til next time, chow baby! 🤗💞

I'm going to admit that I'm an old hair stylist, 80s and 90s! However, I don't understand the newest trend of having all the heavy hair pushed forward and bunched up around the eyes? The eyes are the mirror to the soul.... Also, on most people, eyes tend to be the most interesting and beautiful element of the face. Not to mention that eyes are so important when communicating. We receive so much information when looking into someone's eyes. Why are we hiding the eyes? No disrespect intended, a stylist is simply creating a design requested by the client. Thank you if (anyone) can respond. 🙃

It's framing the eyes, not covering them. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and saw this cut a lot back then. A lot. It's just a variation on a shag and the Farrah cut.
@@FF-pn7fx it's a great cut. I'm 52 and have had it like this for a while now. It was huge when I was a kid and I saw it a lot as a teenager as well. It's not new, but to me it's eternally cool.
i was following Jake Thompson and now my hair is a disaster, feel like just shaving it all off. The only reason I did my own hair was because got no friends or family to ask for help and got no money to go somewhere.
