  • Ever wondered about starting your own business but then gave up the idea thinking it was too far-fetched? One of our speakers this year, an authority on start-ups in Hong Kong, will talk about why is it that we don't end up taking the initiative. Is it the culture? The resources? Or just the mindset?
Stephen Forte is the Chief Strategy Officer of the venture backed company, Telerik, a leading vendor of developer and team productivity tools. He is the co-founder and executive director of AcceleratorHK, Hong Kong's first start-up accelerator. Involved in several start-ups, he was the co-founder of Triton Works, which was acquired by UBM (London: UBM.L) in 2010 and was the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Corzen, Inc., which was acquired by Wanted Technologies (TXV: WAN) in 2007. Stephen has an MBA from the City University of New York. Stephen is also a board member of the Scrum Alliance. Stephen is not only deeply involved with new ventures in Hong Kong, but is also an avid mountain climber and leads a trek to Mount Everest every year! Come meet Stephen at this year's TEDx HKUST. You never know, he may just help you discover the entrepreneur in you!
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
