- Ethiopia failed to make a 33 million U.S. dollars coupon payment on its international government bond. The default, which was widely expected, places Ethiopia alongside Zambia and Ghana, in a full-scale "common framework" restructuring plan under the G20.

Im glad Somalia is debt free now
A country without a government can not take on debt. imf doesn't even recognize it as a credited country.
Somalia 7 billion dollar gdp
Ethiopia 156 billion dollar gdp 😂😂😂😂
@@user-me5jq4dv4i what's so funny? when the saudis killed 100 ethiopians for fun or when you are being sold in libya for 400 dollars or when ethiopian maids are thrown off balconies i never seen a single somali laugh. What's wrong with you raw meat eating anjero lovers?

Ethiopian 100+ million = more people more gdp
There is more poverty in ethiopia than somalia😅 so laugh on you
If standing your ground was a person! Congrats Ethiopia 🇪🇹! Y’all understood the assignment!!!
We don’t have any money. Give us 50 years break
HeII is coming to Ethiopia
We lead by nensese
They have been digging negative images about ethiopia, at the end of the day we're gifted by nature..
Thank-you our leaders 💜
Why would they not pay on purpose??? This makes no sense to me at all. And 33 million, really?? That less than $1 a person in Ethiopia. Wth is going on in Ethiopia
ethiopia will pay all its debt
Ethiopia is poor country the debt they took is huge
Because they are developing with the money 🤦🏽♂️
@@user-me5jq4dv4i you mean going to war and threatening more war.
Better than your country
Do you know debt of the USA?
But better then ur country so be it . There is no poor country in Gambia for ur information ok.
I am sure Ethiopia will pay it
When is the Question 😅😅
@@TAN-ni6ll you will see
Ethiopian government made a deliberate decision to prioritize political power consolidation over fighting covid and/or continuation of economic development.
Catastrophic miscalculation of the highest order 🤷🏽♂️
I don't believe that's true. I have seen so much being done in Ethiopia and that includes growth as an outsider keeping up. We will see...I can understand what they are doing. The west always has expensive debt traps...Africa can only borrow if they pay back at a higher percentage than the other countries of the west.
It is not a fare lane but they use it...the debt trap will be more manageable to clear with China because of payback rates.
why not let the street reporter translate for the finance minister. I couldn't understand anything
No one asks you to understand 😅
God bless 🙌 🙏 ethiopia 🇪🇹
We don't understand too😂😂
@@hanaeshete9388 wedi sharmuta 🤣
Me either. Or they could have added subtitles for translation. 😂😂😂😂😂
$33 million euros is nothing for Ethiopia who has a GDP of $315 billion and that's American not birr. I trust nothing Abiy says but him saying they didn't pay on purpose seems consistent.
