Well said, your view is absolutely correct why do all that to only gain 2 hp while that KTM 690 in stock form is absolutely brilliant. Glad to know somebody knows what they’re talking about rock on.!!!!!
One thing about CC is that he’s cheap as heck and I appreciate how he’s stayed true to his roots. Fame hasn’t changed you, keep it real CC.
🤣 True that. I just hate blowing money because you never know what tomorrow will bring. However, sometimes you have to spend money to make money. If I saved every single dime and did nothing I would probably be broke. lol
I'm cheap as hell too, but sometimes you just want what you want. A few thousand on a bike not a big deal. 50grand on a car or truck hell no 😂.
I don't think I would call it cheap, I think I will call it being wise. Lol, my kids call me cheap but it's actually just being wise
I have basically everything you can add to the SMCR on mine! This is first bike I've ever done more than an exhaust too. I don't regret it one bit. I'm 100% confident it increased the power. None of these guys have got a Dyno done stock. We all know those numbers are at the crank that they give stock. So getting those numbers at the wheel is actually a big increase. But I also have ZERO interest in ever selling my KTM because I already know I won't get what I have on it. I don't buy bikes to sale them. I buy them to ride them and enjoy it so resale means Fck all to me.
It is worth it if you are happy with your bike. We all start out with the mindset that we'll never sell our bikes but we usually do and take a big hit on resale when we mod the heck out of them. I'm trying not to go down the money pit route with this bike but it is so easy to. lol It is a fantastic bike.

LETS GO FOR A RIDEEEEEEE
Best part!
YEAH!!
The sound alone is worth the upgrade. You add the power and a richer bike at low speeds and def worth it
Adding sound is a must!
Honestly the black and orange color scheme looks so much better. If you're keeping it for a short time just leave the performance mods alone. Why sink money into something you won't have long. If it'll replace the YZ450 as the permanent hooligan supermoto then I say go ape shit with mods since you're keeping it long-term. As for increased power, it's more about usable power in the low to mid-range of the rev range and not just on the top end.
True that, Some of the mods I get sent from companies or discounted but I also spend some of my own money too. However, I went crazy with that WR250R and spent way too much money on that bike, I never want to do that again. lol However, it was fun but I did not gain much performance.
Best sound upgrade. Rade intake. Wings slip on. Performance….fuel dongle is a must. The rest isn’t worth it.
I was going to do just this.
I just got a full Leo Vince Vince exhaust straight from Italy. I'm going to do all the mods.
It’s not about the horse power or torque, it’s about bragging rights.
🤣
I appreciate your build episodes and its part of your channel. It also helps showing savings on some options. Its cool to watch - Keep up the good work CC
Thanks for viewing! I appreciate it. I love doing the bike builds especially supermoto builds.
Exhaust, ecu flash and fender eliminator is all that I usually do on my bikes.
Yep! That is all you need.
My 24 390 Adventure with 3,500 miles now I’ve installed a Dominator full exhaust, a vinyl decal kit with matching rim stickers, Givi touring windshield, AuxBeam fog lights, LED neon lights, JBL extreme 3 speaker, passenger backrest and a bunch of minor AliExpress mods ✅
Nice!
@@CycleCruza yea I’m not trading this one in 3 weeks like the mt03, lol 👍🏻
Performance mods open up a whole different beast in this thing. It is batshit crazy with the performance mods.
Wings exhaust, Rottweiler intake and Rottweiler PC6 tune, emmissions delete. There are HUGE gains on this bike. The WR you modded before has tiny valves and low compression. You can't make much power with bolt ons. The 690 is a different animal. You can get close to a 15hp gain with these mods. Also the dynos are showing full throttle but not showing the huge 1/4 and 1/2 throttle gains which are very good on the 690. I was skeptical too. 2st time I rode mine with the mods I mentioned above I was like DAMN!!! Throttle wheelies in 4th gear is pretty wild.
Did you do the canister deleter and fuel dongle as well? if you order the PC6 from Rottweiller does it come with the tune on it? Have you had any reliability issues? I'm concerned that if I overly mod it I will void the warranty.
@@CycleCruza I did the canister delete first thing. The Rottweiler PC6 includes the fuel dongle and tune based on your mods. Mine runs perfect. No issues. I'm in NE Ohio (Chardon) if you want to check anything out.
It definitely depends on the bike. Some bikes yiu can get a lot more performance out of others you'll gain nothing and possibly damage the remaining stock components
Common misconception is that removing the emissions crap adds power. It's a few pounds off the bike and reducing failure points, not adding power.
I'd recommend taking a look at the Rade Garage storage box which gives you a new intake (not so much for power, but it makes changing the filter easier) and it's not overpriced like the Rottweiler. Most popular 'power' mod for these bikes is a slip-on exhaust. The stock pipe is a boat anchor and it's when not if you burn yourself from it. You don't need a Power Commander for those, but Rottweiler does have a $40 fueling dongle which can get the fueling a little better.
Haven’t been getting any notifications for your posts even though I’m subbed and have notifications on
Say what? That's weird. However, I release videos religiously ever Sun, Tues and Thurs at 11:30 A.M. (EST)
Super cool stock. Then is it worth warranty issues?
I have a 2018 Yamaha XSR900 bone stock. All I did was adjust the suspension and delete the rear foot pegs. The bike is fast and fun as is. I tend to get a new bike every 6 years or so. No need to spend money on mods when all that money can go towards the purchase of a new bike. At this point your bike looks graeat! Just add the slip on exhaust and call it quits.
Recommedation: Get the EVO 1 airbox lid from older 690 (2008-2017). Fits the newer bikes with a small modification. Cheap, sounds great and very easy to install/remove. It replaces the snorkel on the airbox.
Why not get the Rottwiler airbox?
Spending thousands to increase the performance, you might as well just get a bigger bike.
Yep. With this bike it is already powerful in stock form. However, I've seen riders spend thousands modding a Kawasaki H2. For some riders they will always try to get more power no matter how fast a bike already is.
@@CycleCruzathe goal with mods on this bike isn't necessarily to make crazy power, but make it run better and get rid of the emissions related restrictions. It's a different bike with exhaust and proper tuning.
the sound is the best mod you can do, gotta let that single scream (thump)
👍
I absolutely think you should keep going with it. Isn't there value in the views of the added content alone? Im seriously considering one of these bikes and will absolutely be watching if you go further with the build. Anyway, everyone seems to be pretty happy with all the RP upgrades. The value is in the lower and mid range, not necessarily peak power.
I get more out of the way the bike makes me feel, then the performance, it gives me.
Cycle Cruza all you really need is justa less restrictive Airbox lid, slip on exhaust and a Custom Dyno tune. And its all so much more cheaper than the rotty intake and power commander combo.
Guys who have gone to their local dyno tuners have said multiple times the Power commander is a total waste of money. You get more out of the custom tune cuz Air fuel ratios aren't 100% optimized off the showroom floor. :)
There are guys who work all week at the factory, then pick up extra work on the weekend. Just so they can mod their baby. People watch you as an escape. You are driving all those guys nuts when you act so cheap! Do it for the people who can’t afford it, who live vicariously through you!
But if you’ve already spent that much money on a dual sport/super Moto, why not just go for the Ducati hyper Motard because either way with the Ducati or the KTM you’re not gonna offload it like you were doing with your 250 and 450 or am I wrong? I understand every bike has a specific purpose, but I feel like the Ducati hyper Motard, with the right tires could serve as the best all around. The only downside I would say the Ducati has is the maintenance. I have an 848 Evo and it is a pain in the ass to work on and expensive to get parts.
Engines are just big air pumps. That's it.. more air that goes in the more that comes out and the more power it makes. U want alotta air moving quickly thru the engine. Performance is simple.
Get the Kev Mod fuel dongle. It really helps smooth the bottom end and installs in 5 minutes. It is the only thing I did to mine. Runs cooler in the city too. No need for an aftermarket pipe.
Exactly!
What do you mean by smooth the bottom end? To me, this new bike is smooth in stock form. It just needs a boost at the bottom which can be rectified with a sprocket change.
I used to tune engines for a living. The bike has a very lean condition to meet emissions targets below 5000 rpm. The fuel dongle from Kev actually intercepts the o2 signal and has a soft learning feature to richen the fuel mixture below 5k (closed loop).
The reason a sprocket change also helps is it keeps the bike out of that rpm range more and moves you through it quicker. Putting you in open loop where the fueling is richer.
Two different ways to accomplish the same thing. The bike does have a bit of hesitation at low rpm, but it ain’t bad stock. It’s a minor improvement, enough that I would recommend it though. But not enough of a change I’d spend money on a power commander, the fueling is great up top.
Side benefit is the cat in the stock exhaust doesn’t heat up as bad in the city. Which is a valid criticism of the bike. Little more fuel cools it down.
Now if you ride like a hooligan you’ll never notice. 😊
Thanks for the info, I only have 600 miles on my 23 but noticed how quickly it was heating up in mild traffic. Made me nervous for hotter summer days. It seems like it gets so hot the chain lube was running down the side of engine block and made me think I was leaking oil. Fun bike, but never this nervous about my R6’s reliability.
just do the suspension and get it set up and call it quits :) and a slip on you gotta have that :D
have a shop ECU tune it for you !! couple hundred !! CRISP running!
Forget about peak numbers, my 690 gained 6 peak HP in the dyno but gained 12+ in all the midrange. Thats where most of the power mods help on these thumpers. Midrange is where you spend most of the time and its where you will most enjoy it. Add a fuel dongle, exhaust, Rottweiller intake, get rid of the SAS/EVAP and put on a Power Commander 6. Its another bike and will actually run cooler and safer.
How will it run cooler? by adding more gas?
@@gokarter707 more fuel, lower exhaust gas temps
Did the same mods on mine. Holy crap its so much stronger in the midrange!! Feels like an extra 100cc 😎
Why buy fuel dongle if you have power commander? What is SAS?
@@connor3288 Power commander from Rottweiler comes with a fuel dongle. It eliminates the O2 sensor so it can run in the non emmissions range at all throttle and RPM.
completely agree! i put an arrow slip on with kat (street legal) on mine and a 44 inch sprocket and thats it to have fun with this bike. no need for other mods performance wise.. im just waiting for a fuel dongle to give it a try but i can confirm u just need a slip on and ur done! frisends of mine did a remap air filter change and told me its not worth the money :D
5 hp improvement on your bike huge - light weight bike - ECU flash gott to do it
690 aint that light weight
Is it possible to soften suspension for SMC R if you want to put proper dirt wheels on to “enduro-fy” the SMC R? I was thinking the enduro version has easy suspension adjustments and was curious about the SMC R. Also, I LOVE that black fender theme on the 690, btw.
Look good feel good. If you don’t like how it looks you ain’t gone drive it!
The pricey air intake options are nice but honestly it isn’t that necessary to drop a bunch of money on them since they don’t really outperform cheaper options. I used an old factory KTM EVO 1 lid for an older 690 on my buddy’s new 701. All I had to do was trim down a little plastic ridge/ splash guard thing at the front a little and it bolted right up. There’s pretty much no way around the power commander though to get the tune right. Wings muffler isn’t too bad on price if you order direct from them.
Leo Vince just sent me a full exhaust straight from Italy, it is a thing of beauty. Ordering all of the rest of the performance mods.
5:10 WOOP DEE DOO!! HAHA
🤣
hasn't run thru the gears with the quickshifter and can ... sublime
Did Leo Vince full exhaust, Rottweiler intake, PC6 with Rottweiler map. Completely different bike. Sounds epic ,runs so much better. Well worth the money. Stock just doesn't cut it these days when the bikes are so corked up because of emissions.
Comfortability, looks, sound as i have gotten older that's all I spend my money on
Would you do a video on the differences between this and the Husky 701 and the Gas Gas, and why you went with the KTM? I can't tell which ones have quick shifters, the clutches are different, the ECU's are different.. I think.
Yeah I did a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/30jhcuunPJg/v-deo.html
@@CycleCruza thank you.
I agree with EVERYTHING you said in this video... very well done, man!
I’ve done all of my mods to my bike just for my aesthetics. I don’t care what others think about it.
Man all have on mine is a leo vince slip on and a fuel dongle so it wouldn't try to cut out in 1st going slow as bad. It's such a fun back road ripper. If it isn't windy it's even fun on the highway. Too windy it's scary af.
Wind never bothered me and I ride my 266 lb YZ450FX supermoto on the highway or the KTM 690 SMC R.
@CycleCruza the wind is crazy in kansas man. Just nothing to block it. If you do the TAT come through on i70 and experience it lol
You’re correct a simple slip on just to get some sound. Gearing is what will be a change. One down in the front? Or two up in the back? Those will be dramatic changes that you can feel on the road and in the throttle versus all the other, BS
I have a 2023 same as you i added a leo vince exhaust, dna air filter and open lid and had it remapped to suit the low down fuelling is much better and midrange is strong but the top end is slower than stock and the intake noise just gets too much after a few hours of riding tbh in some ways I wish I had left it stock so I see where you are coming from cruza, maybe just add a leo vince end can and leave the baffle in and leave the rest stock.
I agree spending a bunch of money is dumb. But in the case of my 690 Duke the fuel controller was and incredibly good purchase. I left the rest stock performance wise. Being a European bike with all the restrictions you can really throw a lot more fuel at it and will help the torque CURVE. Power came on so much more smoothly and at a lower rpm.
Nice! I guess I need to go ahead with the performance mods. Full exhaust is coming this week, don't know if I should go the PC6 route or Rottweiler route...
All I did is the wings and change the gearing, 16/43. Your EUC will adjust for the slip-on and minor mods. Any mods past that will require a PC6 and all of that isn't worth 5-7hp at best. Oh and the PC only works on the high end curve it will not address the low bottom response. This is what I did for my bottom issues. KTM 690 SMC-R kev mod Version VB. Good luck Bro!@@CycleCruza
Check out the Wings exhaust. I think it will sound a bit better than the Leo Vince and its what im about to buy for mine.
He looks so much better then when u got it in standard orange white!! Good job💪. And yes you need sound. Makes riding so much more fun. Get a good slip on get rid of the db killer and go! Also I did tuned my bike and you get used to it very fast ! Not worth the 💰
Night ride video with the new ktm head night ?
Cc. I had a 701sm husky. I slapped a slip on on her for the same reason you said and it didn’t run right. Stalled on my all the time for no reason. Had to get a power commander
i just got a 17 husky 701 it came with a power commander, wings exhaust, and rot intake it def seems like it has more power than yours i can power up in 2nd and 3rd
I kinda like being quite in the morning an in town on my ktm duke. Yeah it would be nice to pop off sometime i guess
Have you considered building a bike from the frame up? Every bike you buy, you modify. Do a series of you choosing the frame, engine, etc…
1st off, we know you have the cash for the mods! Haha
2nd, you should do the fuel dongle at the least if you do a slip-on (as you are already running lean from the factory)
3rd, if you do a twin air, or Rottweiler air-filter, and a slip on, you can do a custom ecu flash (like I did from BHP-UK) and you don’t have to run all the wires and crap from a power commander and you can gain up to 12hp.
it’s obviously up to you.. but that’s what I did and I’m happy with the performance, bike runs smoother, and it didn’t break the bank. (I have a 701 btw)
The bike is good enough to just leave alone, but I would add a performance muffler and that's all.
That's why I like my drz400sm, exhaust and jet kit,300bucks drz400sm is a really good looking bike,Just do the slip on ,don't make a money pit
Put on a pipe, silencer and tuner. All about the smiles per miles!!
10bhp where you need it.
Buy a second hand PC5, add ur pipe, install K&N filter and the cheap open airbox lid.
I don’t have the rotti filter, way too expensive. Didn’t remove sas and all that either. Things a monster. Makes stock feel DEAD below 6krpm
The Rottweiler intake is pricey, but damn it adds a nice growl to the soundtrack.
I generally don't mod my bikes until I have a reason, and normally it is just accessories.
If you are not going to keep the bike very long, no way.
I also enjoy places like Cades Cove loop to see animals, so I won't even put an exhaust on.
Add a few safety features like dual function rear turn signals, a wind screen, maybe frame sliders or engine guards.
Put on a comfort seat for those longer rides, if needed.
C Cruzza, I agree with you. Slip on exhaust for some throaty sound, but leave the rest stock. You will never get back the money you invest in those HP Mods. AND, you don't mess with the warranty. Remember, it is a KTM!
I bought a KTM 890 Duke R and loving it.
Nice bike! I appreciate KTM more after owning one. They make sick bikes, only time will tell how reliable it will be tho.
@CycleCruza it's the first ktm for me. The quality is really good. It's a light weight bike.
Cycle Cruiser you're coming to your senses got to have the pipe though
They are sending the pipe, actually a full exhaust. I have to have sound, just not as fun without sound.
I made that mistake before when I was young when I was into cars. I had a 2011 Toyota Solara. I started with an official brand TRD exhaust. I spent a pretty penny because it was Toyota brand and I still didn't like it. So, I went aftermarket that was louder and looked like a beast. Since meow I got the noise I wanted performance. I bought suspension kit that lowered the car and had better track drive which I never took to the track but mostly street race at night. Since I got beat pretty much I put in TRD Eaton supercharger and swapped out the pully gears with smaller diameter ones so I can gain a little more boost than the stock. Out of all that mess playing around with mods. I spent $15k for just thirty more horse Power on and oof. Meaning when was running right it was a thrill to have, but than every year the knick sensor would burn out, costing me additional money pain cus it would dropped back to stock again. I gave upon moddung cars. I see right meow. Why bother modding cars when you can just buy a car that have everything in it. Also motorsickles are better! You can just buy a Superbike stock and it's better than all the modded cars. I like motorsickles.
Yeah modding cars and trucks can be the biggest money put ever, Back when I was into cars I couldn't afford to do mods besides cheap K-Mart mods. lol As far as bikes, the saying is true, there is no replacement for displacement. However, I've come to realize that middleweight bikes are supreme on the streets because riding a fast bike slow gets lame, more fun riding a slow bike fast and less chance of getting a felony. 😂
You already know what I'm gonna say lol. We all make impulse purchases and regret it later. It's ok man. Have some fun with it for a while and move on. Keep that 450 supermoto, get yourself a screamer fun bike. Half the fun is the sound.
I'm happy I got the 690, it really is a fun bike. However, we'll see how the reliability is to see how long I'll keep it. I will tell you I jumped on a my YZ450FX, which sadly, hadn't been ridden in over a year and I almost shit my pants. lol That bike is violent and rowdy as hell, torque monster. I was doing so much content on the MT-07 and now the KTM that I had neglected my YZ, that and not wanting to do another oil change. lol Video is coming to show I dusted it off and see if it starts and rides. lol
@@CycleCruza Looking fwd to that video and all the hilarious sounds you make while riding it.
Not everything is about peak power it’s about the power gains throughout the whole rpm’s and torque
I’ll let you try my 700. I’m on my way down to the dragon in June. You’ll be modding that thing the next day.
I will have to try to remember to grab the other channel. I didn't see link.
My bugoutmoto channel? www.UA-cam.com/bugoutmoto
Unfortunately, with most bikes, a slip on does not change the sound of the motorcycle. The catalytic converter is still there most bikes you can take the muffler off and the sound will not change at all.
Cat is inside the muffler on the SMC R.
Agreed mods can be a waste of cash for the minimal gains.
I just need a proper exhaust and hot grips as the UK is always cold and I ride all seasons
Terrible take. You've never modded a bike properly if u believe this.
I’m with you about spending all the money but I have done it. I think when you get older you realize that all that power never seems to matter.
With the money that you invest in your bike is investing in yourself. Think of it, you’re an artist and that bike is your canvas. You might see another KTM 698, but it’s not “yours”
What about an ECU flash…??
Any bike made in the past 2-3 years definitely needs mods.
They all run lean due to government regulations, and running lean damages the engine.
Also, I think you need to learn the difference between crank horsepower and wheel horsepower 😂😂😂
Uhm. I think EJK might be a good alternative if you decide to only adjust air/fuel ratio. Probably ±50% cheaper than PC6 and even cheaper than a Rapid Bike Evo.
Agreed, don't devalue your supermoto by trying to be a Supersport. There is a reason most of us have phased out of the Supersport phase. Only mods I'd do is comfort and weight. That bike has all the power you need.
the most bang you gonna get from you bucks would be new set of tire i reckon
I understand the draw to modify for more power, it’s fun and one aspect of bike ownership that appeals to some.
I say forget about mods for more power, get a more powerful bike. Guys are spending $,$$$ to gain minimal increases in power.
Save your $, buy gear, suspension mods, brake mods if you want to dump $ into an already fun bike.
Will that additional 4 hp create more enjoyment? Nope, you can’t tell the difference except many enjoy the idea, the “bragging rights, that their bike is better than stock.
Exhaust only is going to run to lean at least get the fuel dongle for 39 bucks. That’s the greatest bang for your buck.
Slip on exhaust is all you need CC. I wouldn't buy a full exhaust. Doesn't sound much different. Aftermarket ECU's. Nah. If it it right from the factory, i ain't buying it. Plastics and graphics makes it yours. That's cool.
@CycleCruza put a slip on and change your gearing.. it's probably already stupid fast top end. Make it stupid fast low end with the enhanced sound. You really think at 12.5k bike isn't made to almost perfection??? Make your gearing so you can only go 80 or 85mph then get back to me..
What gearing ratio do you recommend? Change the rear sprocket or the front sprocket? or both? On my YZ450FX, 13/44 is perfection and it still goes to heck to 104 mph and bottom end is so strong it wheelies with just the crank of the throttle.
@@CycleCruza Alot of the Euro guys go with a 15T front and love it.. I would start there. Always easier to change the front considering the chain length. Buy a quality steel sprocket and no ebay/amazon junk. I think you might even be able to get a sprocket from KTM and it won't void your warranty. You'll have to look into that.
My question is: Are you going to do track days and participate of this kinda of events? No? So skip the performance rabbit hole.
Just do a slip-on. All you want is to hear it. Don’t waste your money. Spend it on fuel and ride.
You've done it all before so you know what to do and what not to do, plus the bike has already got performance, so just make it sing now 🙏🏽
💯 Yeah a full exhaust coming this week, finally! I can't stand how quiet it is.
Only usable gains . Aftermarket parts for tanks for range . I like only usable h.p. torque is more fun . Like the BMW 900GS It has over 100 h.p. you're not using all that power in the Northeast, then you have to add the heavier weight factor . Ok, you have fun as I'll have mine . Peace ✌️
Imo, I look at ADV bikes as great cruisers/touring bikes with all of the comforts, I've never looked at them as dual sports. I don't like how they market ADV bikes as dual sports because it makes noob learn the hard way,.
I have a 2021 enduro with just an akra exhaust....i did spend money on a better skid plate but there is no need to rush into moding your bike unless you're making content like you are
Butt dyno is more important than an actual dyno. I don't sit on the bike with my dyno charts
I aint takin off my plate thingy or the stock exhaust. Only mod I might do is some for comfort. Levers pegs stickers that kind of cheap and harmless stuff. Call me a lame but I don't care!
I think if you're seriously thinking of some globe trotting, the Gasgas ES500, Husqvarna FE501S, or KTM 500 EXC-F is where it's at. Street legal dirt monsters. From what I've heard, the engines are smooth, powerful, the bikes capable of doing serious miles, and with some customization could really make things work out. Guy over at Mototrek built an EXC500 Six Days for globe trotting.
Anyway. ALL BIKES RESPOND DIFFERENTLY TO POWER MODS. Some are extremely choked up. Some are not. Research is the only way to find out.
Cracks me up how you’ll find a bike in the used market with every single mod done, tons of $$ dropped into it and it’s got like 2000 miles on it and wider chicken strips than wear patch! All that and they barely even rode it!!! Some riders are more into modding than they are into riding.
And something else to consider; the marketing teams for these aftermarket parts companies 💯% hang out in these comment sections acting like regular listeners pushing FOMO hard. Careful who you take seriously. Focus on developing skill, not squeezing every last bit of performance out of your bike 👍
You gotta get the brap braps
💯 Coming this week!
I say do the mods but I think it depends on the bike man some bikes can double the hp (drz470 big bore stroker, cam, carb, exhaust, will basically double the stock whp from 32to 50-60 but will cost you about 3-5k depending on what parts you get) mines still stock besides full yoshi and carb rejet swiss cheese airbox Other bikes you could do all that and only gain 10hp I won't do those mods unless something Happens to the stock engine but I do plan on keeping this bike permanent in the collection if I wanted to go faster I would get a liter bike cbr or Gixxer I have ridden a few and I think dual sport/sm are just more fun
Yeah I know the DRZ400 can gain serious performance with mods but really you are probably just better off getting a 690 SMC R. I was a fool for dropping 5k in that WR250R. With a supermoto or dual sport you really don't need a ton of power. That is why it is great to have multiple bikes, when you feel like going fast jump on the supersport/superbike, when you feel like chilling, jump on the cruise, etc, etc.
@@CycleCruza yea I agree get the 690 if you want the power out of the box ready to rip I like to tinker on stuff so that's part of the fun to squeeze power out of engine I would like to get a liter bike just because they are so fast but I also want to try something like a vstrom or Africa twin (large ADV is the only type I have yet to ride) anyway man looking forward to seeing the next set of mods on your bike it's looking good 😎👍
Has a deer ever popped out on you? just curious..
I agree with you Cycle Cruz’s. The slip on is all you need. If you got it like that then spend the money. If your racing every little bit counts. If your just in the streets it really doesn’t. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah when you are racing you need everything you can get out of the bike but for just street cruising it makes no sense at all. lol
I always spend my money on suspension and brakes if needed when I get a new bike. Unless there are relatively cheap mods that add performance or it's something that adds value in multiple areas like an exhaust (performance, looks and sound). Why buy a bike with 70hp if you need something faster?
Really, all I want is some sound on this bike but then I hear commenters telling me I need to do all of these other mods. lol I did want to change the looks, the bright orange was a bit irritating. I like the matte black orange accents much better,
@Cyclecruza..... If you cannot get the bike stock with what you want on it, the mods are worth making the bike what you want it to be. I know dudes with Harleys that sank 10+ thousand on performance mods for a 15% performance gain and sound. Just because they refused to buy a sport(touring) bike that has the performance built in. Worse? Get mad because the performance upgrades did not increase the trade in value of the bike.
In the end, it is all about what YOU want. This channel is one of your businesses. Consider the mods as an investment for better content. Keep the receipts!!!....LOL Like the new bike!!!!
Yeah that is true. For this business you have to spend money to make money. If I kept the same bike and did no mods when I started this channel I would not be doing videos 13 years later. It has been a fun journey but I went too far with mods on that WR250R. lol
