Cool bit of trivia the older gentleman who tips his glass to Paddington and Paddington tips his hat back to him during the taxi ride that's Michael Bond, the author of the Paddington books.
London Is The Place For Me (the first song you heard) was written on the Windrush, which brought over the first major group of Caribbean immigrants in 1948, so is the perfect song for that scene.
Yesss i hope you do the second one! Its even more perfect. I'm 1st generation immigrant (moved to the u.s at 18 due to forced displacement) and these movies have such a special place in my heart
Diegetic music, also called source music, is music that is part of the fictional world and is thus knowingly performed and/or heard by the characters. I like it when that happens in movies too :)
If you haven't seen it, you must watch Paddington 2! It's even better than the 1st one. Also if you didn't know, even before this film came out Paddington was a national icon for us (British people) and these 2 films definitely didn't disappoint
You know what’s REALLY messed up about this villain (Montgomery Clyde’s daughter)? As a taxidermist, she’s just supposed to stuff animals that were already dead BEFORE being delivered to her. So, the fact that she was willing to kill a bunch of animals herself, and take some form of satisfaction out of it, shows just how disturbing of a person she really is.

Unfortunately he died an the last day of filming Paddington 2, it’s why the film is dedicated to “Our friend Michael Bond”.
