4:43 Marisa Inda is confirmed to be human, and not a flesh-wearing powerlifting robot as is widely reported. Thanks for another great video with excellent information and humor.
1:07 is insane going from this „tiny“ woman with perfect technique lifting a great lift for her weightclass to arguably one of the greatest strongman towering over a close to 1000lb deadlift...
Thomas B are you actually comparing 1000lbs to less than 400lb? You're insane thats like comparing a lightweight lifter with a superheavyweight using wilks
@@dessertlimbo did you not watch the video? They showed the two lifts consecutively to show the difference between a small female world class lifter and a openweight world class lifter. They literally showed the comparison, it's a crazy difference, and just because youve just learned about the difference between relative and absolute strength doesn't mean everyone else has as smooth a brain as you. Grow up lol
At 8:27 are we meant to ‘protect the armpits’ by rotating the left arm anti-clockwise and right arm clockwise while pushing the chest through the ‘window’?
I've learned a lot from you guys, I wouldn't have injured myself if I had coaches like you. Setting the shoulders is whats tough for me since extension in the back causes sciatica in both my legs and flexion scares me about the the 2 l4l5 l5s1 disc bulges I have. If possible please do a video on seated hammer curls, seated over head triceps extension and incline chest press form if someone has the last 2 disc bulges and a bit of si joint dysfunction Will really appreciate your help Thank you
if i end up with bruised and bleeding sheens means that i'm using a good deadlift technique but with a bad "off the floor" or my form is simply bad? i'm the only one who gets bullied by the bar? lol
Chad, thank you for the videos. I have a genuine question for you and am not "trolling". In Pillar #1 you suggest that, while not necessary, vertical shins are ideal. Now, in pillar #2 you state that pushing your shins through the "window" is a good cue. This appears to me to be a contradiction. Am I misunderstanding #1, #2 or is there something more subtle going on here? Thank you.
individual differences in build make the position that the knees take in the deadlift a relative factor. In general, the knee position should be enough forward that it allows you to utilize your quads but not so forward that it begins to resemble a squat off of the floor and takes your hips out of their strongest position for deadlifting. For some people this will be totally vertical shins. for others, it might look like the kneecap starts a little over the bar.
My question is more about optimal cuing than the resulting position of anatomy after cuing has occurred. The purpose of cuing is to remove a direct mental decision from body positioning so that positioning occurs optimally as a by product. While I appreciate you taking the time, your answer is about the result of cuing rather than the cuing itself. Where as, my question is about the cuing. Thank you again but lets let Chad give his two cents, since he is the recognized expert in the field and in this chat room.
Daniel Kanewske Just watched the video and this is my take on it. I think what he means is more the position of your knees relative to your arms (grip) rather than literally putting your knees through the 'window' since if you don't put your knees in this window you would end up with your knees directly behind the arms which pushes the bar away from you. That's just how i interpreted it though, good luck
question! what do we do with our scapula? do we need to engage other muscle groups or is it truly safe to just focus on tightening the triceps to our armpits to engage the lats??
Fuck.. THANK YOU FOR THIS VID... it keeps popping the damn "how to fix pain" than searching the tips .. i hated the search list for youtube its absolutely bs
Randy Gentry its normal. Most people don't deadlift more than once a week. It creates a lot of axial loading, which, while nessecary for being strong. Is the single biggest factor in your ability to recover. Axial loading is basically how much hell are you putting your spine through. Another big factor is grip. Grip fatigue tends to mimic full body fatigue. Both of these are CNS related. Your CNS isn't going to let you go full force when your spine or hands are recovering. It also uses a ton of muscle mass. And requires maximum force production from a dead stop. Put this all together and you have an exercise that takes far more recovery than anything else.
I agree with everything you said....I’m still intermediate just hit a clean five plate dead in December..as far as grip it’s my strongest asset I still double overhand no hookgrip my deads at this point...working man hands I close the 350# gripers holding a card....comment was really how ironic they are called deadlifts
Yeah, go ahead with hook grip. But don't expect to pull all your deadlift reps with hook, if you're going to be doing multiple sets of five you're probably better off putting on the straps. Otherwise your skin is gonna have a bad time. Most hook grip pullers use straps in training along with hook work.
Philipp Christmann I disagree. It's called humour. Sounds like you need some in your life. This is a channel for lifting iron up and down. Go and be a white knight somewhere else. Out.
Can't believe how much quality information there is in this series. Thank you so much! Going to be re watching this a lot. Subscribed
Thank you

I think it was her defence mechanism because he tickled her off switch
6:40 I was not ready man
That bicep tear at 6:32 is hard to watch
yes it was! Although I watched 3 more times. Just making sure I saw what I saw
Ugh. Yeah I needed a warning there I can't watch those haha
how the hell was he able to finish the lift??
I'm still gritting my teeth 2 minutes after seeing it
askingforafriend pure adrenaline haha
I love these pillars of strength series. Suuuuuper helpful for people that have no access to coaching.
Seriously the best UA-cam channel for lifting information. Thanks so much!
Thanks
was not ready for that biceps tear!
Wow!! The armpit tickles technique is phenomenal!!!
Awesome quality content as always guys, this channel is a gold mine. Heres hoping you all keep it up for a long time!
That Window cue is brilliant! Will use it right after the Video!
This has been so helpful. I’ve fixed at least 3 things and I’m halfway through the vid.
Got deads tonight, always great to refresh.
ditto
this channel is fantastic
Thank you for your videos they've helped me so much over my years of training. Tips so great, tickling people into the masters level. XD
I tried the "protecting your armpit" cue and found it really hard to accomplish while executing the DL.
Has Max ever considered creating the pillars to a great snatch or clean and jerk in a similar format to these videos?
You guys are awesome! Always comprehensive with the info and well edited visually🤘🖖💪💪 you guys have fun and it shows!

Thanks for these series. Keep them coming please!
1:35 is Chad just floating at this point? It looks like he's sitting on a stool but there's nothing there.
He's a jedi now
There was a stool, but I've never seen wooden legs move so fast when Chad started to sit.
I have a question about over- under grip. What about different activation of the lats ( left and right side) ?
Up

explained very nicely ,i'll be trying this at my next deadlift

JUGGERNAUT SQUAAAAAAAAD!
His brothers tickle attacked him... my brother wrapped my neck in duct tape 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow great video thanks!!!
can you explain more about the window
Hook grip it is!
3:08 I cant believe Chad is being a hypocrite. Just look at his stance.
i could add german subtitels to your Videos if you enable the community contribution Option for it.
I‘m a german myself and I think that there is english is very dialect free so most germans should‘t have a problem understanding them
great video
6:18 wow after leaving POG Vince G finally made his dream come true
They Live We See that guy could actually lift, so obviously that’s not Vince G
Another great video 💯👍💪

dood.....y did u have to show that guys bicep tear?? omg
Anyone know what shoes she's wearing?
I see the next TicTok trend: tickle a world record holder
So, I'm thinking of asking random people in the gym to mount a tickle attack on me before I deadlift so that I can be sure that my lats are engaged 😁
So refreshing
I find it impossible to squeeze the armpits with a belt on. Do I need a thinner belt?
When using hook, should the bar be placed as low in the hand (like over under) or high in the hand?
Michael Lewis High in the hand.
Today I learnt wheat a window looks like
Breathing technique for this please. Thanks 👏

Thank you so much 🌟😀👏
Do you squeeze triceps a little or all your strength?
If I squeeze 100% my elbows gets some discomfort

What she said boizzz
"Thanks"... from now on I cant dare to do the over/under hand grip anymore! 😔🙈
is this the same for SUMO deadlift?
he said in another video that he'll make a sumo deads series after he finishes this one
I seen Chad squat in those shoes I need to get a pair of those increases strength by 20%😂😂😂
Who's the guy at 1:53 ?
abraxis20 Brandon Allen. Another athlete Chad coaches 821# deadlift

Deadlift ...I always feel dead after doing them so draining

Tickle armpit attacks😂😘
We now know CWS' ultimate weakness; tickles
I'm sure she'll get that record back.
Brian shaw out here sumo deadlifting with a snatch grip
Can you make more Marisa tickling videos?
Bicep tears and Grindr bears #itsALifestyle
Genuinely thought those plates had "wank" on them for a moment
I need those loafers.
the ole armpit attack
How to lear to engage the lat? I can't do it even if my lat are big...
aaaand I'm scarred.
Need help with grip strength
ua-cam.com/video/-febRoO0gG0/v-deo.html at 8:40 is a great way to work on grip strength.
What about straps?
In context to what?
Juggernaut Training Systems like whats your opinion on using straps for deadlifting if the person is not planning to compete?
Strength MM seems fine. Better for bicep health, worse for general hand strength and any general life benefits that may give.
Juggernaut Training Systems ok. Then i guess i will go with hook grip.
Yeah, go ahead with hook grip. But don't expect to pull all your deadlift reps with hook, if you're going to be doing multiple sets of five you're probably better off putting on the straps. more tickle videos
Bro...you had to show the bicep tear!? The simple explanation would have sufficed. lol. Now I don’t want to dl anymore
