@@HistoryBuff At least 50% of the music video is clips from the show. So he might like it. Here is how Lovebites got involved with the creation of the theme song for it: "Vladlove" is a new, original work from Oshii, the world-famous animation director behind "Ghost In The Shell" and "Patlabor", and Nishimura of "Ranma 1/2" and "You're Under Arrest" fame. The pair created a huge impression on Japanese pop culture when they worked on the iconic anime Urusei Yatsura together in the 1980s, leaving fans to anticipate their return for the decades that followed. This new project sees the directors return to work on a comedy series filled with interesting and unique characters, centering around a blood donation enthusiast and a vampire from a prestigious bloodline. LOVEBITES was chosen by the anime's production team who were seeking a band that could capture the concept and fierce vampiric nature of the series' main character, Mai Vlad Transilvania. Oshii comments: "When I happened to see a LOVEBITES music video, I could immediately see parallels between the five members and the main character of 'Vladlove'. They are like a heretic of heavy metal, wearing bright white outfits while playing intense music, they are the perfect choice to take charge of a theme song to an anime not bound by convention or common sense. what's more powerful than a pocket nuke? 5 of them coming in from 5 different directions for the ultimate Metal Endgame...all glory to LOVEBITES and The Wolf Pack everywhere.
Haruna in the Sgt Pepper straight jacket still manages to pound those drums into total submission, they all ditched the straight jackets after this song and really cut loose. This show is well worth doing a streaming show even before you get to 5K (hopefully sooner) perhaps at 3K , the Daughters of the Dawn 2019 concert is also wicked good so anything from either one will blow you away. The Anime Theme they did for VLADLOVE, Winds of Transylvania (ua-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/v-deo.html) will blow your head off especially the guitar work by Midori and Miyako's solos are mind numbing. If you want a studio song then their cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free (ua-cam.com/video/To21HILZvYE/v-deo.html) is also great and they sound great in Studio (..duh...of course they do..). Haruna gets a solo even if it is only 10 seconds some Shine Time for her and Miho (bobble-head doll head banging away) are so rare and yet never bothers them as the band and the song is all that is important. BTW Miho and Miyako do a lot of backing vocals for the band. Asami does a lot of the lyrics with help from all the members, and Miyako does a lot of the composing and arranging again with help from the members, and Miho (founder) is the head mama who works on all aspects of the band., and is the metal head child devoted to 80's metal!!!!
If you pay close attention, you'll notice that this show is mixed with Midori's guitar slightly left and Miyako's slightly right, just as they stand on stage from the audience pov. Makes it easy to hear who's playing what part.
AHHHH that's why I heard Midori's guitar growl so predominantly in my left ear! Super cool attention to detail! Is that how they do it in the studio too?
Great reaction to the absolute magic of LOVEBITES, I subscribed. I suggest, if you want to do more LIVE from Zepp DiverCity (which is from a DVD called Daughters of the Dawn") I suggest Break The Wall & Raise Some Hell. You should also really check out their great production videos like Shadowmaker, Glory To The World and you'll LOVE Winds of Transylvania.
Thanks for the sub!! I think I'm checking out the "Dove" one (forget the exact name) next for a little something different. Then Winds of T. The name alone has me intrigued!
I recommend this Blu Ray for anybody who likes Lovebites. It's a bit pricey at $120 Canadian, but worth every cent!! I love watching it with my Bose cans over my ears! These girls are the best thing I have ever heard from the rock/metal genre!! P.S. Daughters of The Dawn is an amazing Blu Ray as well. I think it was $100 Canadian. (One of the concerts cost $120, and the other was $100).
Nope, sorry, Haruna is my favorite, that little dynamo would wear the energizer bunny out! She is just pure energy and Kawaii! Love this band and thank you for reacting to this video!
You have just glimpsed what happens when Miyako sits down at the piano. If you want a life-changing experience, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html, Note: You'll get a lot of suggestions for "Swan Song", but if this link is still working when you get to it, this is the one.
The funny thing is, she said she never really got used to that white piano since it is not an accoustic but an digital piano and has not the same feeling. And she is a Star Wars fan 😄 ua-cam.com/video/hXzFdWXFGwo/v-deo.html
Miho's singing the song because it's one of her compositions. Miyako has written the most for the band, as other commenters have mentioned already. Midori isn't as prolific a songwriter, but she did write Glory To The World, which is a masterpiece. I think she took the inspiration for the outro of that song (the "Woah oh oh ooooah" bit) from one of their earliest songs, Under The Red Sky (from the Battle Against Damnation debut EP), which has a similar ending, and was written by their collaborator Mao.
Hey back off Jack, she's MY girl! Lol Miyako is my all-time favorite guitarist. She becomes one with her instrument, and that's what great musicians do. I love her and her bandmates so damn much!!
Thanks for staying up late and doing this 😀 Miyako is Midori's counterpart, and she has composed a majority of the band's existing songs, but Miho (bassist) is the one that actually composed this one (with the help of Mao, a keyboardist from another band called Light Bringer, who has helped a lot with composing and arranging most of their songs with all of the members). You now kind of get an idea of how versatile this band is, their main focus being power and thrash metal, but they can play ANYTHING. For power metal, I recommend Glory To The World (their latest), Swan Song and Shadowmaker, for thrash: Winds of Transylvania (also new), Break The Wall and Hammer of Wrath. For something else to really knock your socks off: Epilogue, Scream For Me, Empty Daydream.
@@HistoryBuff For Swan song you need to first listen Etude. That is an intro for that song, and Miyako plays a Chopins etude. ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html
The Awake Again disk from 10/25/2020 is already out-of-print and the videos vulnerable to take-down, but I am not aware of reactions being blocked. They are a rare opportunity often 'hidden' periodically to facilitate future access.
No one person in the band writes all the songs. Early on it was mostly Miho (bass) and Miyako (piano/guitar) with the help of Mao (former keyboardist of Light Bringer), but the whole band contributes, especially more recently. For example, on the new EP the song Glory to the World was composed by Midori (lighter haired guitarist) with the help of Mao while the lyrics were written by Asami (vocals). Most lyrics are written by Asami actually. While Miyako has composed a decent majority of the music, it would be unfair not to acknowledge the rest of the band's contributions :D A lot of this info I take directly from interviews with the band, and also the lyric books for each album which credit the appropriate parties.
They lose the jackets after this song--even for them, playing two hours in those jackets would be too much. But they keep this pace up for an entire concert. They may look petite and be wearing party dresses, but they are apparently made of steel.
@@HistoryBuff - You should check out Babymetal. They're awesome. I don't know if you were familiar or not. They are usually the first Japanese female metal band for people to find. If you aren't familiar and you want to react start with 'Gimme Chocolate' just so everybody can tell you how it's not a good representation of Babymetal. Which it is. It's a cute song. Maybe not their best but it's good.

This is correct. Based on their current (at the time of this post) discography of 51 songs: Miyako = 23, Miho = 16, Asami = 4, Haruna = 2, Midori = 2 These numbers include co-writing credits since several of their songs have been composed by two or more members.
Speaking of newer 5 member bands. Have you ever listened to the 5 member siblings, ranging in age from 13 to 22 called Liliac (Lily-yak) which means 'bat' in Romanian. Samuel 22 - lead guitarist and back up vocals, Abigail 21 - drummer, Melody 18 - lead vocals and guitar, Ethan 14 - Bass guitar and Justin 13 - keyboards. They just finished a tour of the U.S. and parts of Canada before this covid stuff. They were born and raised in California and just moved to Georgia recently. They are managed by their dad who is a music producer, and they have 2 albums of original music. Two of my favorites are "Mars" ua-cam.com/video/CRrqHZNMUko/v-deo.html and "Sail Away", ua-cam.com/video/l5r2aUl1nvU/v-deo.html and their covers of "Enter Sandman" (3 years ago) ua-cam.com/video/INouvLl1JiQ/v-deo.html and Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart" are awesome. ua-cam.com/video/nz-EuUMD338/v-deo.html

If you want to see a real Miyako showcase, check out the live version of Swan Song at this link: ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html. Be quick though, it's usually removed quickly! Or, if you'd like to see her shining on piano AND see the song with the best Lovebites backing vocals at the same time, check out Empty Daydream from their 2019 show: ua-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/v-deo.html. Both are amazing, so you can't go wrong.
Five foot tall pocket nuke???? I think you might be exaggerating a little there! Drummer Haruna measures in at just four feet nine inches in her bare feet and the singer Asami tops her by only a single inch. The tallest lass in the band (Miyako) barely makes five foot two inches. Great things come in little packages.
Whaat!? The TALLEST is 5'2"!? I thought Midori and the bassist looked pretty tall! They need to take a pic with Floor Jansen from Nightwish. That would look incredible!
@@HistoryBuff There is a lovely photograph of singer Asami from when she joined the band Halestorm for a performance of the song "Love Bites (and so do I)" at the Download festival in 2019. The song,of course, is the one from which Lovebites took their name so Halestorm invited Asami to come up on stage and sing it with them. Afterwards Asami posed for a photo with Lizzy Hale from Halestrorm. Lizzy is a tall girl who towers over the diminutive Asami. The photo is endearingly cute: i.pinimg.com/originals/31/61/84/3161845c7d612e6f9a96745aaabddd53.png
It's hard to say for sure, but the song seems to be predominately 16/16 with a few bars of 12/16 (might have been some others occasionally, but always even I think) thrown in during certain sections and transitions. What makes it particularly difficult with this is that the subdivisions within those meters are shifting often as well, and sometimes it even seems like different instruments are using different subdivisions. Also, emphasizing every second sixteenth note in a pair (mostly the drum part) certainly doesn't help with metric clarity. Who needs downbeats, anyway? lol I really tried to pin it down though :) It was easiest to track through the vocal lines since those had less rhythmic activity to get confused by, but the sections between were tricky to navigate: lots of counting and then going back to check at what point it veered off.

LOVEBITES - Thunder Vengeance lyrics:
Gods of vengeance
Standing in the nightmare
The peal of thunder broke me and more
When losing my eye
The days will pass before me
A faded memory of what used to be
Death by oblivion (Do it)
Deadly criterion (Do it)
Flames of despair burning
My blood is boiling inside me
Death by oblivion (Do it)
Deadly criterion (Do it)
Inner enraged demon is becoming me
Here come days of revenge
Until the day the light can reach into my blind eye
Lost in the rage
These scars are here to tell me that I’m still alive
Into the blackness
Don’t reveal weakness
Hiding my curses, pay off an old grudge
Forgotten feelings, other than resentment
Don’t even mind giving others pain
Damn the redemption (Do it)
Drowning confusion (Do it)
Doom filled with righteous indignation
Where’s my salvation?
Damn the redemption (Do it)
Drowning confusion (Do it)
Does my life have meaning?
Am I a speck of dust?
I’ve got blood on my hands
I want to claw and tear you, rip apart your name
Die in the sands
Your sins will never be erased or washed away
Beaten down but the hatred’s growing
Rotten pain that is never healing
Only I can end my suffering
I won’t kneel down because of yesterday
Gods of vengeance
Standing in the nightmare
The peal of thunder broke me and more
When losing my eye
The days will pass before me
A faded memory of what used to be
Death by oblivion (Do it)
Deadly criterion (Do it)
Flames of despair burning

This show is well worth doing a streaming show even before you get to 5K (hopefully sooner) perhaps at 3K , the Daughters of the Dawn 2019 concert is also wicked good so anything from either one will blow you away. The Anime Theme they did for VLADLOVE, Winds of Transylvania (ua-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/v-deo.html) will blow your head off especially the guitar work by Midori and Miyako's solos are mind numbing. If you want a studio song then their cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free
(ua-cam.com/video/To21HILZvYE/v-deo.html) is also great and they sound great in Studio (..duh...of course they do..).
@@HistoryBuff It varies, some tracks have the guitars mixed dead center, others more separated like on the show.
Just WOW.. LOVE this.
Thanks for the support Roxie. I've seen your name plenty of times in the comments!
@@HistoryBuff Oh your safe.. I stalk everyone.... LOL. love your reactions.
Yeah, princess Haruna is the cutest drummer in the world!
You have just glimpsed what happens when Miyako sits down at the piano. If you want a life-changing experience, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html, Note: You'll get a lot of suggestions for "Swan Song", but if this link is still working when you get to it, this is the one.
thanks Hiawatha G., I would suggest "swan song" with the "piano etude" pelude too. they are so much more than "just" a powermetal/thrashmetalband.
The funny thing is, she said she never really got used to that white piano since it is not an accoustic but an digital piano and has not the same feeling. And she is a Star Wars fan 😄

@@CaffeineNightOwl this is the link with the Chopin Etude.
@@hiawatha.g thank you. 🖐🤘
Yup, this is definitely the next one! If I do a different one, I'm officially giving you permission to yell at me.
Think this song is the end of the show LOVEBITES - We The United - Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020
Lovebites,Band Maid and Sabaton are on my concert bucket list.
Should give Aldious a listen. We Are is a excellent start.
Hey back off Jack, she's MY girl! Lol
Miyako is my all-time favorite guitarist. She becomes one with her instrument, and that's what great musicians do.
I love her and her bandmates so damn much!!
Hey, no worries. I've already claimed brittney slayes from unleash the archers!
You have a long way to go, so don't box yourself in, they'll surprise you. LOL
Dark haired guitarist/pianist is Miyako singer is Asami Bassist is Miho
I think my next 2 will be Swan/dove song (cant remember exactly) then Winds of T, possibly with my 20 year old son.
Great choices! The Wolfpack will be looking out for them :-)
@@HistoryBuff For Swan song you need to first listen Etude.
Nice! Thanks for all the info!
They may look petite and be wearing party dresses, but they are apparently made of steel.
i think they are made of the same metal as the terminator in T-2
Lol, adamantium or vibranium?
@@HistoryBuff the way he oozed through those prison bars i'd say meltium. i know they melt me.

Every single one of them has composed songs for the band, but I think Miyako (guitarist on the right) did the most, not 100% sure on that.
This is correct. Based on their current (at the time of this post) discography of 51 songs:
Miyako = 23, Miho = 16, Asami = 4, Haruna = 2, Midori = 2
These numbers include co-writing credits since several of their songs have been composed by two or more members.
@@Gideon_the_Seeker I always forget how good a songwriter Miho is :-)
The guitarist, Miyako, has her own UA-cam channel and it has lots of information on her music.
Yea, I really need to check that out!
Yep, finally checked them out. I see your comment was from 2 weeks ago, so check it out if you have not yet.
Haruna is 4'9 Midori, Miho, and Asami are all 5'0 and Miyako is 5'2 "Dynamite comes in small packages"
If you look close at the two lead guitars microphones you will see a row of guitar picks
Yep. I think I mentioned that in my first reaction "Edge of the World" That's when you know they shred!
Only Japan has this genre called "Jo-Metal". Talking about historical background, this was established by "Show-YA" early 80s.

You think you've seen Miyako play the piano, but you really haven't seen Miyako play the piano.
Hello. could you react to "Cimafunk: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert"? thanks and best regards
lol, "Tiny desk concert"? sounds interesting...
Why I listened to an 18 min Tiny Desk session in a language i don't know, i don't get it!, music is truly a universal language! Calienta!
I also wondered about the colors. But ... I have not heard anything like that.
Those Sgt Pepper coats came off early in this concert.
For another Lovebites reaction, please do "Signs of Deliverance" live ua-cam.com/video/ZFNrk19fKgg/v-deo.html
@@HistoryBuff They could shelter from the rain under her mighty armpits. ☔💪
Lol, love it!
The photo is endearingly cute:

Lol, what you said!
slayer female \m/
I like to recommend new hot band right now: Nemophila Raitei official vid 🙏
