And I thing you enjoyed too this reaction. Like me enjoyed you reaction to Lovebites. Now I'm subscribe Hope you take a journey reaction to Lovebites. Because they have many fantastic song. Next reaction, try they new MV. The song is "Winds of Transylvania" Big thanks for you. And keep on lovebitten🤘
Love it! Great comment! I'm definitely pinning it! Winds of transylvania sounds like a great place to go next! Is there a live version yet or just studio?
@@HistoryBuff No live yet, but they just played 4 shows in Japan, recorded one in Tokyo (3rd year in a row) so expect a disk sometime around Miho's & Asami's birthdays in July. The version currently on the official channel is the "Vlad Love" Version which has lots of anime from the series this is the theme song for mixed with MV of the band. A DVD option with the March 10 "mini-album" CD release includes this MV without the anime, Glory to the World MV and the "Vlad Love" Winds of Transylvania video. The three audio only tracks, No Time To Hesitate, Paranoia and Dystopia Symphony are all excellent as well. All are available on the official LOVEBITES channel. Thanks for joining us... sub'd for more LOVEBITES!
@@HistoryBuff Facts about Lovebites you won't find in most sources: Miho (bassist, Mama Lovebites) has a massive Metal band t-shirt collection (about 500). She's also a beer fan. Haruna (drums) makes miniature resin copies of food. She also has a plush toy in the shape of a radish used to make Wasabi. She's quiet offstage, but comes alive behind her kit. Midori is the extrovert guitarist with blonde hair. She has a massive guitar collection. She studied to be a pharmacist, but dropped out to pursue music. Miyako is the reserved guitar nerd. She's a Star Wars fan, and has a dog called Wampa. She's a big fan of Gary Moore, as evidenced on "Epilogue". Asami lived and studied dance in the US for a time. As a result, she (along with Midori and Miho) is the most fluent in English.
The dark haired guitar goddess, her name is Miyako. She has studied & played piano from the time she was young & didn't start playing guitar until she was 18 yrs old. Gary Moore is an influence, her sound can be bluesy & soulful at times. Her look on stage is stoic but inside is an evil genius of Musicality. She writes the basic melody for a lot of there music & I'm an admirer. Hope you react to more of them😎 P.S. the all female rock / metal scene in Japan is just ridiculous as in ridiculously good, Peace.
Good Reaction❤️❤️❤️ Next songs Raise Some Hell, Hammer Of Wrath, Break The Wall, Scream For Me, watch their crazy solos'♪♪♪[Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]
you loved edge of the world. another masterpiece of this caliber, an often overlooked gem (because there´s no official video), my favourite song of them and a few others is "a frozen serenade". don´t miss. you´ll gonna love it.
I'm just smiling because it won't disappear from your face for a while. I've listened them almost six months now but can't get enough. They all are just phenomenal, comparison is just a waste of time, they just kick ass.
Miyako, dark hair is the technical introvert and uses DEAN guitars, Midori, the blonde, is the shred extrovert and uses ESP guitars, which makes for a glorious duality in the guitar section,. Miyako has been using her custom Dean she had made for her in their more recent videos. Such power, such majesty, a real metal head cannot help but tear up more than once watching them or listening to their albums. The music and lyrics hit so deep into a metal heart and soul. We, The Wolf Pack, are UINTIED under their command, and every song is a righteous WARCRY to our HOWLING WARRIOR BLOOD!
Loved the reaction! Guitar nerd here. Miyako's playing a Dean Icon on this one. But occasionally, she'll whip out her sweet Gibson Les Paul Reissue. I believe it's an R8, but it's hard to tell under stage lights. Midori is exclusively an ESP girl.
Great reaction. Here are some fun facts. Both guitarist Midori and Miyako started guitar at age 18. Vocalist Asami began singing R&B before singing metal. Drummer Haruna and Bassist Miho were in a band called Destrose before they started Lovebites (another video adventure you can explore). I'm sure the Wolfpack will give you more fun info as you check out more videos from these lovely ladies!
This band is out of the limits. The skills of the members are over the world class. The next I suggest "We The United" anthem of Ladies and WolfPack live Zepp divercity Tokyo. This song blows away everyone. Thanks for curious reaction. Stay safe Stay Lovebites.
One of my favourite current pastimes is watching fans of older style Rock and Metal music discovering Band-Maid and Lovebites for the first time, loved your reactions so far, so keep em coming !!!
Keep listening chap! Only 60+ tracks to listen to, every single song is a banger! Lovebites do not produce weak songs, people need to learn this band is unique and soooooo talented they need so much more exposure. I'm 65 yes of age and this is the best band I've ever seen/heard! Exceptional!!
@@ChrisPage68 Yeah, but we can kinda guess what she is saying. She is most likely thanking Pearl drums for 75 years of making great gear. She is an official Pearl artist. Pearl is SO lucky to have her! I just love seeing her, and hearing her talk. I don't have to understand all the words. Kinda motivates me to learn a little Japanese. One day, I want to visit Japan.
LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and for one forevermore What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war ----- lyrics: LOVEBITES music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
The term "the White Wolves" comes from the band's adoption of the wolf as their symbol. Since they always dress in white to perform, the Japanese media and fans dubbed them "The White Wolves".
Lovebites are unique. 5 musical prodigies without egos. While you’re on your LoveBites odyssey I guarantee you that you won’t be able to remove that smile with a jackhammer let alone a chisel. The ladies are a musical breath of fresh air, and the fact that they have such a comparatively small following is criminal. That’s why I refresh “Lovebites reaction” as a search topic every morning on UA-cam, sort by “upload date” and dutifully listen to each one. I’ve watched people such as yourself follow the exact same path as me and fall completely in love with them as an entity and as individuals. There isn’t a bad word to be said. They re exceptionally talented, supremely confident and yet the sweetest, most humble people I’ve ever seen in this genre of music. On stage they have fun with a capital F and they make the viewer feel good, which again is a first for heavy metal. No black, no gloom, no growling, just uplifting lyrics, melodies and playing. As has been said before me, you’ve only scratched the surface. This is the New Wave of Japanese Heavy Metal, and it’s already washing over you. My favourite.... Epilogue: check it out... ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html
you can choose any track with your eyes closed, all of them are extraordinary, be it live, in studio or on video. If I have to sum up Lovebites in three words I would say, beauty, power, and grace, both visually and musically. They bring the light different from what we usually know in this musical sphere. To my ear, no other band comes close to them in these areas combined.
Another great reaction! The two videos you reacted to are from their "Five of a Kind" (DVD) concert from Zepp DiverCity which was one of their last concerts before the pandemic hit. It's a masterpiece concert full of masterpiece songs, so you won't be disappointed picking any other songs/videos from that same concert for your future reactions. Also the video clips from the 2019 "Daughters of the Dawn" concert is also another excellent source. My recommendations for future reactions are "Break the Wall", "Swan Song", "Scream for Me", "Hammer of Wrath", "Shadowmaker"...and that's just for starters 😀 Thank you!
Love Lovebites. Lovebites is with Band Maid, Nemophila, and Nightwish, consuming my listening. Try their songs : Swan song, Hammer of wrath, Shadowmaker, Break the wall, Scream for me - studio live. Scream for me back and forth solos. Miyako dark hair guitarist, is s concert pianist also, she does all their piano, keyboard, backing tracks. Their song on YT, Burden of time, a favorite song of mine, Miyako plays hammer on power chords on her Dean guitar with left hand, while playing the piano with her right, same time, just incredible. It's Burden of time - live studio. In October they re recorded their first album songs in studio. Midori, the blond guitarist, was at NAMM trade show in Anaheim, California, in Jan 2020. She played guitar in the Kemper amplifiers area, as she uses their Profiler. She is so down to earth, humble, so nice and pleasant.
You don't have to apologize for pausing often to discuss the song/ video bud. This is your reaction right? Anyway, you take it back a few seconds when you resume, so nothing is missed. You're doing a great job!!
You still haven't heard anything yet more to come if you stick to your Lovebites journey, Edge of the World is a masterpiece and it gave you what you will expect to hear on the rest of their songs. Many claim that they are only a power metal band but I am here to tell you not so. They are very diversified and versatile in many styles and genres and you will eventually begin to realize just how amazing these ladies are. For being on your second song it appears that you been bitten just the rest of us that are true to Lovebites, I hope I am right about it so welcome to The Wolfpack, I also hope for your complete pleasure it doesn't end here. They have a total of 47 originals songs and one cover song of Helloween "Eagle fly free" which is so much better than the original. These are the styles and genres they play hard rock, prog-rock, heavy metal, power metal, thrash metal, a bit of grunge metal, and some amazing power ballads. Now lets go check out some very heavy stuff they play Thrash metal Break the Wall and Hammer of Wrath Break the Wall ua-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/v-deo.html Hammer of Wrath ua-cam.com/video/kxuhKdw7BzM/v-deo.html
Yeah, Lovebites is (for me) the best band i discovered maybe in the last 5-6 years Before that it were Ancient Bards, especially their song "In my arms", and Vandroya (Why should we say goodbye). The bass player of Ancient Bard also does some tapping here at around 2:30 btw ANCIENT BARDS - Impious Dystopia (Official Video) ua-cam.com/video/Ujq1bBi7sYU/v-deo.html very underrated italian band
Yes, it's the Halestorm song, not the Def Leppard song. Asami (singer) was a blues and soul singer before, and was not confident with metal when she started, but you can see her power exploding now. Haruna (D) has been a mainstay of Japanese metal for at least a decade now--she looks like a kid, stand 4'9" but as you see, packs a wallop. She also smiles and kids around while doing all that. Miho (B) is the mother hen, founder of the band, and the true metalhead of the bunch. She lost her father recently and has poured the emotion of that into the band's music. I commented on the personalities of the two guitarists in my first post. Hope this is helpful!
Yeah, Halestorm actually posted their whole Download 2019 show on their official UA-cam. So you can watch it, if you want. This song (Love bites (so do I) )starts at 58:15 ;)
@@HistoryBuff The song Journey To The Otherside is written by Miho for her Dad. If you can find a live version, you will see something that is really heartbreaking, but shows Miho's dedication, and also the spirit of sisterhood in the band.
Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece, man! btw, pausing the video are okay, but never pausing in the middle of the guitar solo😅 that's what I know.. Have a great day!
For the next stop... I recommended Thunder Vengeance.. see how they start their show... Like Miho ( the bassist and the founder/boss of the band ) tapping on the bass? Try they cover one of the Helloween masterpiece - Eagle Fly Free... So... great reaction my friend... you already beaten and welcome to the wolf pack!!
Dark haired guitarist, Miyako, is playing a Dean, she is a classically trained pianist been playing since she was three, hardly ever smiles on stage but off stage she never stops, here's one that starts with a little Chopin called Swan Song, ua-cam.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/v-deo.html
Wow i think it's the first time i ever saw someone notice the change from the off beat, Haruna is a beast on the drums! I love it when people catch these little things about her drumming! I especially really admire her cymbal and accent work! Haruna's favorite band is Helloween, and they have a cover of Eagle fly Free if you want to check it out! Miho the bassist, is a huge iron Maiden fan and Steve Harris is her hero so she moves and plays like him, with the finger picking style. Miyako the guitarist on the right playing a Dean Icon, has more soul and is more melodic feeling in her playing but can also shred like a god. As you saw in Edge of the World she also plays the piano and is a big fan of classical music, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Dvorak are some of the composers she draws inspiration from and there are quite a few references to their work in Lovebites songs, she is also a big fan of Metallica and Pantera. Midori the blonde guitarist has more of a shredder type of style, fast going up and down the scales, more technical, even on stage while Miyako is more shy and reserved Midori is all about being flashy and engaging the crowd, it is what she likes! Asami the singer comes from a R&B and Soul background with this being her first time in a metal band, she is also a trained ballet dancer from a young age, you can notice that by the way she gracefully moves on stage. Please feel free to go back and listen to your favorite parts again, i don't think anyone would mind it! 😀 More songs - Raise Some Hell, Break the Wall, Swan song, We the united, Rising, Epilogue all LIVE! Thank you and please more LOVEBITES!
Awesome reaction! I knew you would love this band, just as I did. I heard my first song from them and was blown away. Then I listened to a second and a third and by the end of the day I was buying ALL of their albums. They are now in my top 6 favorite bands of all time along with Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Helloween and Queensryche. Everyone compares them to DragonForce because of their speed but I like Lovebites more because they have better songs and they are a lot nicer to look at. ;)
If you want to spice it up a little with other bands, Japan has plenty of these ;) Band-Maid (more hard rock with some punk influenes, but currently one of the best live performers out there) ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Unlucky Morpheaus - Neo classical power metal, every member just insanely talented: ua-cam.com/video/5oHPCQucm3U/v-deo.html
Great reaction to this Amazing (Power Thrash Heavy) Metalband Lovebites again ! I really enjoy It .Perhaps you'll check out " Thunder Vengeance" live in Tokio 2020! It's their Showopener 👍2nd Song is Holy War! Thank's and stay save
There was an article but I forget where it was. So she quit Destrose because she going to get married. But not long after that, she wrote on her social media she want to do music again since she quit being married.
i love lovebites one of my favorite japanese bands if you want to check them out my top 5 are Lovebites Band-Maid Unlucky Morpheus Galneryus Maximum the hormone but a new band thats caught my ear was Nemophila thats band is great as well
The dark haired guitarist, you guessed right. She is bluesy, and she loves Gary Moore....no wonder. The singer, yes, she is a ballerina. If you try Swan Song in the same album, you can tell her arm and body movement of ballet. And also that dark haired guitarist, her name is Miyako, composes about half of their pieces, and she actually is a concert pianist who also can play guitar, or she plays piano on her right hand and guitar on her left hand in the same time. Yes, they have classic music as the base of their music. Try Swan Song together with the preceding truck Shopin Revolutionary Etude. Those 2 pieces are one set, a suite. You'll see their classic aspect of Dovolzark, Tchaikovsky, and Shopin in it. Your Odyssey of the wonder world of Lovebites has just begun. It'll be a long and great journey. Enjoy!
Great reaction. My favorite band. They’re amazing. Five beautiful women playing heavy metal. Have at least to watch them ones every day. The blackhaired guitarist, miyako, is the more emotional player. The other one midori more the technical player. They are all great. Don’t apologize for the pausing and talking. We are here for the reaction. If we want the video without reacting we would not come here. Thank you for this reaction.
Lol, thank you for that. I think I did respond by saying "in case you weren't aware, there is a version of this video where you can watch it without interruption"
As a retired history professor, I dig your handle. I also enjoyed your reaction very much. Keep on roilling them out. I've been following Japanese rock since 2015 when I got my first taste of Band-Maid. Lovebites is a relatively new band formed about 3 or 4 years ago. Miyako actually is signed as an artist with Dean which she was playing there. She does play a beautiful Gibson Les Paul Goldtop on their song "Raise Some Hell," a song, which I highly recommend you check out. Midori and Miho (bass) play ESPs. I also recommend "When Destinies Align." There is a live version from this concert or an awesome 4k music video. You were asking about their different personalities and you are correct about the guitarists. Midori is a classic shredder always pulling guitar faces and playing fast. Miyako, who is a classically trained pianist, is more of a serious and technical artist type. They are both amazing and fun to watch. Some other bands you might want to investigate are BAND-MAID, Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Doll$Boxx and Fate Gear. That will get you in so deep, you will not be looking outside of Japan for music for a while. haha
Thanks for the info! Retired history prof eh!? Where and whats your area of study? I definitely feel like I got in over my head with the handle, especially since a good part of my viewers are not American, hence WAY more knowledgeable than me in a lot of ways. I'm not a professor. In fact, I've been a paramedic and an EMS educator for 25 years so THAT'S my true area of expertise. History is just a huge passion of mine so I got a bachelors in History and in English literature, so a lot of research and a few publications. Still. Not enough to stack me up well against European Sabaton fans. I'm thinking of making a channel disclaimer moving forward. Either way, thanks for watching!
@@HistoryBuff Early US national period for my BA, Native American history for my MA and Southeast Asian history for my Ph.D. I appreciate your work as a first responder and trainer of first responders. Thanks a lot. The only European history I really got was colonial era stuff and the world wars. They can keep the rest of their drama. I have been working in private security since I quit teaching. I got into that because it was easier to use my army experience to get a job than my history degrees. haha I hope that you enjoy getting sucked down this rabbit hole of Japanese rock. I really suggest you look at BAND-Maid next. They are less metal and more hard rock, but are another group of highly talented young ladies. Try "Domination" (live) for an introduction to them.
When you speak of the guitar tones, you noticed the difference between Miyako's guitars. In Edge of the World she is in fact using a Les Paul. Now, I am assuming in this video the tones you are referring to are coming from Miyako's Dean USA Icon as it has a very unique signature sound. It's a custom job with Fishman Fluence pickups. They are a bit unique in the world of guitar parts. I wish I had a guitar with them just because of the sounds you can rip from them like Miyako does. The rest of the main setup is an Orange cabinet and I think Peavey head. BTW, speaking of bass tapping, if you liked what Miho did you must watch something that I am sure 50 bazillion others have suggested at some point. Jinjer-Pisces. A good portion of the song's bass lines are taps/hammer on's. Not to mention Tatiana, the lead singer is, well, you have to just see. =)
The name "LOVEBITES" is nothing more than a reference to "Love Bites (And So Do I)" by the band Halestorm. The band played that song during rehearsals and thought it fit. Asami, LOVEBITES' vocalist, has performed that song with Halestorm, and it's an amusing sight watching 4' 11" Asami sing next to 5' 8" Lzzy Hale. Regarding their instruments, Midori, the blonde guitarist, and Miho, the bass guitarist, both play ESP. Midori sometimes plays a custom ESP Arrow, but I'm unsure which ESP model she's playing in the "Five of a Kind" concert. Miho's pick guard isn't bedazzled or covered in decals; they're actually made with the dots in it. She has a few bass guitars with differently-colored dots, but I believe this ESP is her most used model. Her handle on Twitter is @miho_dotdotdot, so she digs her dots. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, is playing a Dean Icon here and for most of the concert. She does switch to a Gibson Les Paul for a few songs in this show. In some music videos and other shows, Miyako plays a Dean ML. Most recently, she got her own Dean custom model, a dark red flying v. She loves visible wood grain in her guitars which makes me want to invite her over to take a look at my Atari 2600. Asami does have a ballet background, but I'm not sure how long she was in it or at what age. She was a backup singer for various Japanese rock bands and has a background in R&B and Soul. Midori and Miyako used to differentiate between who plays which style of solo. It used to be that Midori played the faster solos while Miyako played the more classical solos, but that attitude didn't last. Miho describes her style as more flashy than technical, but there are a few songs where she shines and shows off some skill. Their cover of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is a prime example of that. Regarding her doing bass tapping, that seems to be a bigger thing in Japan than in North American and Europe. MISA from BAND-MAID does it, especially in live versions of their song "Clang," and BOH from Babymetal's Kami Band does it a lot. It makes me want to do it more, especially with my old DOD Bass Flanger pedal on. Fans sometimes call the band the white wolves because they always wear white on stage and because of the wolf motif on their albums covers and band artwork. They wear white both to be more visible on stage due to their diminutive nature and because they're going against the trend of metal bands wearing all black or other dark colors. Some people hate it when reactors pause, but it doesn't bother me. If I want to hear the song, I know where the original video is. What bothers is is when reactors pause, sit there doing nothing for a few seconds, say something generic like "Oh wow" or "I bet they'd be good live!", and then go back into the song. I feel like if you're going to hit K to pause, have it be for words of substance. Your words are at least interesting, as are Chase's, so the pauses don't bother me.
Some factoids - You are correct, the name LOVEBITES comes from the Halestorm song "Love Bites (So Do I)". They released a live cover version on their third album "Electric Pentagram" (ltd edition). They wear white partly to defy convention (as "metal" is stereotypically all-black everything), and partly in order to make themselves stand out since they're all quite petite humans, ranging in height from 4'9" to 5'2". "Wolf Pack/Wolfpack" is an unofficial term some fans came up with to call themselves, and it comes from the fact that LOVEBITES adopted wolves as their mascot, featuring them on most of their art, branding etc. They chose wolves because they're women in a predominately male genre, and because they play the now non-mainstream metal genre, so lone wolves. Except there are five of them. And except for the fact that there have been dozens of Japanese all-female heavy metal bands over the last 40 years and there are more now than ever, so being an all-female Japanese metal band isn't particularly unusual, but whatever....they went with wolves. They've been referred to as "white wolves" by some Japanese media. The band was formed in 2016 by Miho (bass) after her former band DESTROSE split up. DESTROSE (formed in 2005) were also an all-female metal band, one of the first of the current "boom" of all-female Japanese hard rock and heavy metal bands which began in the mid-2000's. Their contemporaries included exist†trace (2003), G∀LMET (2007) , Aldious (2008), Mary's Blood (2008 - 4/5 of DESTROSE original lineup who quit and formed their own band) and others. Miho recruited former bandmate and rhythm section partner Haruna (drums) who had already left DESTROSE before the split. Miho's primary interests are NWOBHM, 80s European Power Metal, and 80s Thrash Metal, and she wanted to form a new band that reflected those influences, hence LOVEBITES. Think Maiden, Helloween, Slayer, etc. They recruited two of the best guitarists they could find with contrasting styles (Midori's a fast, clean, accurate master shredder speed demon, and Miyako's a dirty, bluesy, classically trained Gary Moore fan who can also shred, and whose first instrument is the piano). Miyako was a temporary "support" player at first. They also found Asami, who was an r&b and Gospel singer with no background in heavy metal. She offered to sing in a more "metal" style, and they told her to keep singing the way she always did, which is actually not so far removed from classic vocal stylings of people like Bruce Dickinson. They decided to present all their songs in English (except one, and old unrecorded DESTROSE song Haruna brought with her, which was later re-recorded in English) as they wanted the vocals to be reflective of their previously mentioned influences. They work with a Japanese-born, American-raised singer named Nana Hatori who helps to translate their lyrics (usually written by Asami) into English. They also have a "sixth LOVEBITES member", Lightbringer keyboardist Mao, who composes a great deal of their music and/or co-composes with Miho, Asami, Midori, and Haruna, while Miyako is the primary composer. I guess that's long enough.
And I did change the title of the video. I think the reason I put "first time" is because I actually have a few reactions on my channel to songs I have heard before. I know that sounds weird but Nightwish fans are quite insistent that I do so even though they are aware I am familiar.
@@HistoryBuff I didn't mean to suggest that you were intentionally engaging in clickbaiting. Lots of reactors are though and people are starting to notice.
Well welcome to the rabbit-hole with no bottom. If you want to jump in to J/Metal, J/Rock there is so much talent, especially female musicians you will never be able to hear it all. I have been in this hole since Show-Ya (1990) and I am still here finding new bands and new musicians to appreciate. You are now truly bitten and a member of the Wolf-Pack, wander away but you will always return for this epic band. Miho/bass (founder) is a wicked metal-head who lives for 80's metal and man does she slap that ESP Jazz bass. Haruna the 4' 9" beast on drums put the EverReady rabbit to shame (If she drives the way she plays the drums no one is safe on the road). Asami is an ex-ballerina student thus the graceful-flow on stage but she is stage master that controls the band and the crowd at each and every LIVE performance, her R & B/Jazz/Soul background really shines with this band. Midori/Blond Flash/Shred extrovert could melt an iceberg with that smile and she loves to interact with the crowd. Miyako/Black is the concert pianist (started at age 3) who as an introvert lets her music (as she was trained) do the talking. The perfect duo that riff, battle and harmonize like few other dual lead guitarist anywhere. Now try: Scream for Me LIVE (ua-cam.com/video/acwkphgzNg8/v-deo.html) The guitar clinic is in session!!! Empty Daydream LIVE (ua-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/v-deo.html) More Miyako piano before the hammer drops and you get backing vocals by the ladies. Raise Some Hell LIVE (ua-cam.com/video/yJw3xMY37Os/v-deo.html) The bands theme song to pump up them and the crowd.
Since you are new to power metal ( you said )..... you must pay your respects to: LOST HORIZON. ( Sweden ) 20 years ago... they gave us 2 albums that raised the bar and defined the genre. Then they split-up. No live footage, but all their songs are here on UA-cam. They are legends.
This is your channel, so pause and comment as much as you like. There are many 'head nod', say nothing for the entire video reaction channel's for people to watch, if they don't like pauses. For a different style from Lovebites, have a look at Break The Wall: ua-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/v-deo.html
I highly recommend LOVEBITES scream for me live 2019 ua-cam.com/video/acwkphgzNg8/v-deo.html this song has an epic guitar battle and the bassist rocks as well as the drummer holds the beat.... oh and Miyako the dark hair guitarist uses dean guitars while the blonde Midori uses ESP the bassist Miho also uses ESP Bass and the drummer Haruna uses pearl drums
This is a reaction so if you don't react this channel is pointless :-P If we want the song without comments I'm sure you've provided the original link somewhere. We're here for your comments, whether they're ramblings or to the point :-)) Keep being you, the people who like you will stay, the others will complain and eventually leave. You still can never out-pause Chase.... Btw, just to show how versatile these ladies are, try something like Break the Wall or Raise some Hell for some more thrashy stuff.
Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so; now having seen this and "Edge", you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. If you want to see a studio-produced MV, I strongly suggest either "Shadowmaker" ua-cam.com/video/k3wyUbfl6TY/v-deo.html or "When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html, which are the two most people see first. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best in general to take suggestions with actual links, so you know you are getting the high-quality versions. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Awesome info!! I definitely heard it and agree about the very distinct sounds and styles of the 2 guitarists! Like with UTA. It's hard to tell who's playing as their guitars bend and weave together. I imagine, when one has been a fan long enough, there's no doubt who is who!
@@HistoryBuff It's interesting to play their albums and listen for the tones of the two guitars, but it's actually not hard. I'm not a guitarist or an expert on gear, but apparently a lot of it is in their choices of amplifiers--Miyako uses Orange, Midori uses Marshall.
Bro, you luv the sound of bass, next check out BANDMAID Hardrock Band all female Japanese live at Shibuya songs Freedom, Domination, Play, On Set(Instrumental with bass solo), Take Me Higher and their latest MV Warning, After Life, Manners... :)
MISA will kill his ears if he loves the bass. The Assassin is tall, beautiful, plays bare footed, smiles and drinks beer while playing a wicked bass (My bass playing friend calls her the perfect woman). Freedom is a good start as he gets even Akane's great drum work as a treat (ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html).
New sub here! You've never seen bass tapping? Try the following videos: Baby Metal - Rondo of Nightmare (God's of Mischief Intro) Unlucky Morpheus - Knight of the Sword Those are the first 2 videos I can think of right off the top of my head. Keep on rocking 🤘😊🤘
Once your done geeking out to tis excellent band.....check out the equally talented hard rockers Band-Maid. Freedom live is a good one to start with featuring a drum solo that is just pure joy.
Yea, unfortunately I am very familiar with band-maid. In fact, I binged on them for a few months and listened to barely anything else. I think there is some newer stuff I have not heard.
No - she is not really tapping on the bass. Or - of course she is tapping. We saw it. But, all three string players are tapping in unison. I do not think you hear much of the bass.
@@CaffeineNightOwl It's a legit beef. There wouldn't be a second or third time reacting to a song, would there? "First time" implies newbie to the band, and people like to see first time reactions, so they include it in the search. More and more reactors have figured this out, so in order to get views, they put "first time reacting to" in their description even when they already know the band.
Hell yeah, Lovebites again😍
I'm glad you back again, get bites from Lovebites!
Like I said, this band can bites you so hard!😁
Great reaction again dude. Don't apologize for something you enjoy it. And I thing you enjoyed too this reaction. Like me enjoyed you reaction to Lovebites. Now I'm subscribe

Because they have many fantastic song.
Next reaction, try they new MV.
The song is "Winds of Transylvania"
Big thanks for you. And keep on lovebitten🤘
Love it! Great comment! I'm definitely pinning it! Winds of transylvania sounds like a great place to go next! Is there a live version yet or just studio?
@@HistoryBuff great. Thank you. Anyway "Winds of Transylvania" is new song from them. So now they just have Music video or studio version.
Facts about Lovebites you won't find in most sources:
Miho (bassist, Mama Lovebites) has a massive Metal band t-shirt collection (about 500).
Ehmmm, wonder if the Lovebites version of WOT is safe to be reacted to?
Love the band!!
Good Reaction❤️❤️❤️ Next songs Raise Some Hell, Hammer Of Wrath, Break The Wall, Scream For Me, watch their crazy solos'♪♪♪[Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]
my favourite band and proably the best metal band of the planet at the moment. they are something else.
you loved edge of the world. another masterpiece of this caliber, an often overlooked gem (because there´s no official video), my favourite song of them and a few others is "a frozen serenade". don´t miss. you´ll gonna love it.
Love it!!!
@@HistoryBuff When Asami says "Raise your hands!!!", the correct response is "How high, Your Majesty?" 👑 🐺🤘
@@ChrisPage68 Like an other reactor said; she's a stage general commanding the troops.
Yes! Lovebites is fantastic live!!!
Great reaction! Waiting for the next!
Yeah... LOVEBITES is #1. Wolfpack is here. Global domination is coming! There is no stopping it! Power to the princesses from Japan!
One of my favourite current pastimes is watching fans of older style Rock and Metal music discovering Band-Maid and Lovebites for the first time, loved your reactions so far, so keep em coming !!!
That I am. It speaks to my 1980s childhood soul!
HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!!
Did you see her short video for the 75th anniversary of Pearl drums? I think it got posted yesterday.
@@TheCyberMantis Sadly no subtitles.
@@TheCyberMantis Yeah, that would be a dream come true for me. Who knows, maybe one day.
LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war

lyrics: LOVEBITES
music: Mao
arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
Full disclosure. I can't stand it when anyone growls, especially female artists. Must be the boomer in me.
you can choose any track with your eyes closed, all of them are extraordinary, be it live, in studio or on video. If I have to sum up Lovebites in three words I would say, beauty, power, and grace, both visually and musically. They bring the light different from what we usually know in this musical sphere. To my ear, no other band comes close to them in these areas combined.
They do some agressive thrash songs too. Thanks for another reaction of Lovebites, we will love if you keep going with them.
Oh, I will.
Hello Friend , yes , Lovebites is amazing , the best guitars solos and dual riff , other level of musicians , greetings from Chile , God bless You .

The next I suggest the anthem of Ladies and WolfPack "We The United" live Zepp divercity Tokyo 2020. This song blows away everyone. Great review.
Awesome!! Thanks for the info!
Just to das: Miyako also was at NAMM 2020. And their long time collaborator Mao plays keyboards on some tracks, too.
Asterism, Bridear,Doll$Boxx,Band Maid,Brats.so on so.All top talent bands.
You don't have to apologize for pausing often to discuss the song/ video bud. This is your reaction right?
Anyway, you take it back a few seconds when you resume, so nothing is missed.
You're doing a great job!!
I had no doubt that you would like this video, because LOVEBITES are great live.
oh it's far from over - you still have about 40 songs to go. all just as good and better.
Now lets go check out some very heavy stuff they play Thrash metal Break the Wall and Hammer of Wrath
Break the Wall ua-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/v-deo.html
Hammer of Wrath ua-cam.com/video/kxuhKdw7BzM/v-deo.html

very underrated italian band
Wow! Great info! That's terrible about her dad!
@@HistoryBuff best things come in small packages. here´s asami performing "love bites" with halestorm: ua-cam.com/video/MMsOHLOPJxM/v-deo.html
Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece, man!
btw, pausing the video are okay, but never pausing in the middle of the guitar solo😅
that's what I know..

LOVEBITES - ''M.D.O.'' LIVE 2020 with lyrics
More songs - Raise Some Hell, Break the Wall, Swan song, We the united, Rising, Epilogue all LIVE!
Everyone compares them to DragonForce because of their speed but I like Lovebites more because they have better songs and they are a lot nicer to look at. ;)

Enjoy!
Ok, you sold it
That's my next stop!
Band Maid a must band listen.

That will get you in so deep, you will not be looking outside of Japan for music for a while. haha
for me it looks like a honeyburst LP. 😁
I got into that because it was easier to use my army experience to get a job than my history degrees. haha
I hope that you enjoy getting sucked down this rabbit hole of Japanese rock.
Wow! Excellent info! Thanks a ton!
Now try:
Scream for Me LIVE (ua-cam.com/video/acwkphgzNg8/v-deo.html) The guitar clinic is in session!!!
Nice!!!
Since you are new to power metal ( you said )..... you must pay your respects to: LOST HORIZON. ( Sweden )
20 years ago... they gave us 2 albums that raised the bar and defined the genre.
Miho Miho Miho!
Sure the Guitars have to go for therapy after every concert
I highly recommend LOVEBITES scream for me live 2019 ua-cam.com/video/acwkphgzNg8/v-deo.html this song has an epic guitar battle and the bassist rocks as well as the drummer holds the beat.... oh and Miyako the dark hair guitarist uses dean guitars while the blonde Midori uses ESP the bassist Miho also uses ESP Bass and the drummer Haruna uses pearl drums
Miho miho miho
I deeply suggest you to take a look at the Lyrics, they're deep, uplifting and very neccesary at this times! next Shadowmaker???
Maaaaaybe....
Their nickname in Japan is "wolves in white dresses" meaning their appearance is deceiving.
Ahhh. Makes more sense now!
Lol, the guy who's logo is literally a pause button!?
Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity.
Some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
🤘😊🤘
Try thunder vengeance
I'm very familiar with them! I haven't heard their new stuff though
For something slightly different try Asterism also from Japan but they have no vocalist they so good with their instruments they don't need one.
@ Steven Rider
Yes, i know Asterism too. Great musicians, especially Haruka on guitar is incredible.
New sub here! You've never seen bass tapping? Try the following videos:
Baby Metal - Rondo of Nightmare (God's of Mischief Intro)
Unlucky Morpheus - Knight of the Sword
Those are the first 2 videos I can think of right off the top of my head. Keep on rocking 🤘😊🤘
Thanks for the sub!!!
@@HistoryBuff just thought of another video where the bassist taps:
Jinjer - Pisces
🤘😁🤘
Once your done geeking out to tis excellent band.....check out the equally talented hard rockers Band-Maid. Freedom live is a good one to start with featuring a drum solo that is just pure joy.
Yea, unfortunately I am very familiar with band-maid. In fact, I binged on them for a few months and listened to barely anything else. I think there is some newer stuff I have not heard.
Tapping on a bass? Oh Man .......You should react to Astersim / Rising Moon and Babymetal / Rondo of nightmare with mischief of gods intro
Asterism is the right name of that group...
No - she is not really tapping on the bass. Or - of course she is tapping. We saw it. But, all three string players are tapping in unison. I do not think you hear much of the bass.
there is such a thing as too many stops but i dont care for people who constanly talk over the video, id rather have you pause instead
Can't please everyone
This is not a first time reaction, you already ear this band. Stop clickbaiting.
🤬👎
First time for the *song*. Stop being rude to channel owners.
it says explicitly in the video title "first time reacting to holy war live". so what´s your point, dude?
Always got to be one or 2. Rule of averages i guess
Ok, seriously didn't know that. I'll change that
