I've heard many fan, former baseball players, Deion Sanders, basketball HOFer Chris Mullin, etc. talk highly of Rickey. He is top 10 of all time. He is my GOAT. We miss you Rickey!
It really speaks to the character of the person when players us fans respect give Rickey such high praise on and off the field. Andre Dawson, Dave Stewart, and Don Mattingly have all had such wonderful things to say. Those players are as highly respected as it gets. Baseball hasn’t been the same since Rickey retired.
I’m just an ordinary guy collector from the 1980s and 90s. Andre Dawson is my favorite player of all time. Ricky Henderson is not too far down the list for me also. It’s just really sad and I didn’t know him as Andre did! I started collecting cards in 1989. And those guys that we collect as kids and grew up into adulthood you feel like you know them in a weird way. This was great on a very sad topic. Thanks for sharing.
Did u ever see annykin slayd video Remember ..kid cat and hawk And 94 fall And kid annykin slayd is expis forever guy Hawk def underated and in 70s 1980s he could hold his own with all thee real ballplayers
If ANDRE DAWSON WOULD OF PLAYED ON NATURAL GRASS HIS WHOLE CAREER. HE WOULD OF PUT UP WAY BETTER NUMBERS PLAYING IN THE COLD & ASTROTURF. KILLED AT LEAST 5-7 YEARS OFF OF PRODUCTION.
On my all time Major League Baseball Team my 1st team outfield is: LF Hank Aaron, CF Willie Mays, RF Reggie Jackson, my 2nd team outfield is: LF Ricky Henderson, CF Willie McGee, RF Andre Dawson
You get to make a team - who you starting with ? There are so many Great 3,4, and 5 hitters. Me - I'm gonna go with #1 - and he is Rickey !!! And right after that I'm taking Tony Gwynn at #2. The next 3 hitters, whoever they are ...
I agree. The rest of my lineup would be, Shohei Ohtani, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Johnny Bench, Ozzy Smith, Ryne Sandberg, and Derek Jeter. I used to put bonds in Shohei's spot, but 50/50 and a pitcher is hard not to start.
@@tcdahn7 3 is Ted Williams at 1st, (Rickey left Tony right), 4 is Mantle in Center, 5 is Schmidt at 3rd, 6 is Fisk since you took Bench, 7 is Robbie Alomar at 2nd, 8 is big game Ripken at short, and 9 is Bob Gibson pitching - it would be a Great game !
@@common_sense1512 I wanted Fisk but I felt like I was too stuck in my time for the infield. You did great for an after draft. Baseball is easy that way. It's truly timeless. I think Carlton Fisk and Bob Gibson are the most underrated Baseball Players of all time...Bob Gibson did benefit from a great infield, but he was the captain when he was on the mound...However, I think Rhino, the Wizard, and Captain Clutch can shut the Rickey Rally down... Then again Pudge used to be good at throwing Rickey out....

Yeah it's kinda sad, I grew up watching him and I feel like he's been overlooked the last 2 decades since he retired.
Wow, Andre "The Hawk" Dawson is a man's man, I've never seen him like this, this has surely hurt him deeply, my condolences to him...😢
Yup....a great player and seems like a great guy

We'll miss you Rickey 💚 Oakland A's Forever!!!
RIP Rickey. Hawk's signature is beautiful!
I remember wanting those green mizuno batting gloves he used in Oakland RIP #24
Those lime green Mizuno gloves were the sh*t even though I was and still am an Orioles fan. 💚
He was one of my favorites growing up, I wish he would have been on the Cubs with Hawk and Rhyno.
I watched some of Rickey play and Andre. I use to watch Cubs on tv some when Andre played, a good home run hitter. Rip, Rickey.
Andre Dawson best player I ever saw.
Did u ever see annykin slayd video

One of a kind. The world will miss Rickey. I know I will.
I remember what he did to Toronto in the playoffs.
It was pure torment.
The somber tone in The Hawks voice just made me weep. Great player and even better human being. Rest In Peace Man Of Steel! 💚
Rest In Peace Man Of Steel. Baseball needs more athletes, competitors and stylish entertainers like you. 💚
2024 lost two great #24's Mays and Rickey RIP
And the Hit King #14!
Rest In Paradise Rickey 🙏💚
2 of my all-time favorites.
"The Hawk" loved Rickey.
Also so did "The Goose", "The Ryno" and "The blue jays"
Top leadoff hitter of all-time and maybe Top twenty all around player of all time!
Top 20 is an insult.
He scored the most runs all time top 9
I would say easily top 10
MLB was so much better back then. Same with NFL hard to watch now

Run in peace Mr Henderson !
Was sooo happy billy got him to the Yankees….

I hope somebody up there will celebrate his 6th birthday with him 😢
RIP Ricky Henderson

Taking Rickey is adding a run to every game. Cant argue with that
