As an A's fan, it's my duty to remind you how he DESTROYED the Jays in 1989. He may have been traded to the Jays, but his HEART was in OAKLAND. RIP RICKEY.💚💛💚💛💚💛💚
I get the distinct impression that Rickey could be super cool and funny.....and not be aware of it at all. And that may have been a big part of his secret sauce. That maybe he had enough detachment from others that he could nurture that inner space and keep it balanced. I think that's what helped his longevity and ability to perform for multiple teams.
R.I.P. Rickey Henderson
I hope Joel tells this story on his podcast.
Who's here after he passed away! R.I.P legend.🙏🏻😇😢

Ricky Henderson is a real-life person but he seems fictional
He and Bo Jackson have a ora about them.
His stories are legendary. He's his generation's Yogi Berra
The most amazing thing I ever saw was Rickey HOF induction. Never spoke about himself. Thanked everyone. A very proud man.

Love Rickey Henderson. Went to many games during the bash brothers years. Bleacher seats were $1.

Oakland As #35 & #24 Always!
Ricky contributed to the Toronto Blue Jays and it's World Series win playing leadoff hitter.
He also singlehandedly DESTROYED the Jays in 1989. He went BACK to Oakland as soon as he could. That's where his HEART was. RIP RICKEY. 💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚
Nobody does the toe tapping anymore. Ricky, Jimmy Connors and Aaron Krickstein are athletes I remember doing it.
Ricky was a beauty!

The story would have been better without them laughing through it

He wanted to see pitches so he could time his jump on the steal, once he gets on 2nd then swing away with runner in scoring position
