EASIEST WAY TO REPLACE U JOINTS *saves so much time*

- Easiest way to replace u-joints! This will save you so much time. I replace a u joint on my 2001 24 valve 5.9L cummins, using a ball joint press and an impact gun. It pushes a u joint out of your drive shaft so easily and effortlessly. Gone are the days of using a socket and a hammer (BFH) to pound the u-joints out of your driveshaft. The ball joint press goes on each side of the driveshaft and the cap of the u-joint will pop right out through the top of the ball joint press. You don't need to struggle removing u-joints anymore. If you dont have a ball joint press you can rent one from your local parts store and get a full refund of your money upon returning it to them! See you in the next video!

This is the kit I ended up buying to finish the rest of my u joints! For the price you can't go wrong, and you'll have it in the garage any time you need to pop a u joint out or change your ball joints! I also grabbed this adapter set too so that I had every option available for replacing ball joints!

I have to say you are my favorite UA-camr I bought a 2nd gen Cummins, and you have a video for everything I need
Thats awesome man! I'm glad my videos have been able to help you out, as that was my main reason for starting a channel. Film my experiences and what I learned with the truck as i worked on it and share it on here to hopefully save somebody else some time on their truck. Congrats on the truck!
@@purepanorama8484 Keep up the good work! I'm sure your future videos will help me. Thanks again!
That was the best advice you could be getting for money ball joint press you the Way to go
I had a stroke back in 2006, took all the strength outta my right arm n hand,, Sure made it hard to swing a hammer!! Just had to change the original u joints out of my 94 Ranger,, a ball joint press is the only way to go!!! Clean the hell outta the yolks, apply a thin layer of anti-seize!!
Lightning needs some work... other than that good video. Your lucky in that the rear shaft on that truck has clamps covering 2 sides of the joint. Wish the 03's were like that.
Is there a right or wrong way to install the clips.
Should they lay flat on cap
I have a new clip installed and the " tail" isn't sitting flat on cap...do I flip it?
Would of been nice to see the whole process since my caps blew out at well and can't seem to get them out
You need some lights Im watching and cant see anything you do...
change your u joints EVERY WEEK?
More u joint stuff coming soon!
Easiest way ma AZZ !!. Pull the driveshaft and replace on the BENCH !!. 10 MINUTES TOPS !!!.
Its longer than a 10 minute job no matter what way you do it, and of course pulling it put of the truck makes it easier to do than leaving it in the truck. None of that was what I referred to in the video so I guess you missed the main topic? 🤔
@@purepanorama8484 Funny, Post says EASIEST way to change a U Joint !!. And YES, changing the U JOINT is EASILY done in 10 Minutes !!. I do it WEEKLY !!. The driveshaft just slides out of the rear of the tranny !! Or 4 bolts on a 4x4 ! It's MUCH EASIER on ANY truck to remove the complete driveshaft than it is to fight shit for a hour !!. If you wanna learn, Just come by my shop and I'll teach you how to change a U JOINT in 10 MINUTES !. Some of you "Wanna Be" mechanics make me SO MAD because of how you tell people it ", Should Be Done" !!!! 5 years of School, 35 years of Turning Wrenches and a cool piece of paper that says I'm a MASTER ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC, Says I know what I'm talking about !!. Nobody should listen to you !!. By the time it took you to get all those extra tools together, I'd of had it done already !! And just so you know, I found your channel by ACCIDENT !. When I saw your EASIEST WAY , I was curious !! Now I'm laughing !!
Dan Ballard I'm so proud of your accomplishments for turning wrenches. How are you advancing in anger management class? I'm assuming not well with how easily you get set off and the fact that you STILL missed the point of what tool I used in the video to change my u joint that makes it easier to do for guys who have never changed one before. It still takes longer than 10 minutes to pull the driveshaft and the old u joint then press the new one in no matter what you do it or how "skilled" you are. Can't tell time or keep track of it either, I see. The only funny thing about this is the "know it all" master mechanics who think their way is better than anything else and they can outwork the next person. You're nothing special and your "cool" piece of paper doesnt mean you're too bright either considering that I agreed with you in my first comment about pulling the shaft and bringing it to a bench and you still couldn't comprehend my comment or my video lmao. If you havent noticed by now, your insecure display of anger issues doesn't mean a thing to me nor does your "knowledge" or "skill set". Sit down, nobody's impressed by you here. 😴 p.s. you should also learn how UA-cam works as far as titling videos to make people click and watch them right after you intentionally find your way off my channel. Just another lonely troll under his bridge feeling butthurt. Nothing new here folks, moving on.... thanks for view and video engagement though!👍
Did you only do the rear
Im a carpenter not a mechanic😂😂. I yell this at the top of my lungs every time i work on my 24v. My rear driveshaft U joints are perfect but my front driveshaft needs some new joints.
What’s the ball joint press part number so I can rent it bro. And where did you go rent it
amzn.to/2znzOrZ
That is the kit that I ended up buying to finish all of my u joints. For the price of that kit I figured you can't go wrong. It's cheaper than renting one (even though you get the money back when renting one), but you'll have this one in the garage for a low cost and be able to swap a u joint whenever!
amzn.to/2xLcH8G
I also ended up buying this adapter kit a few months later just to have every option available to me when I got into changing my ball joints! Just another thought and option.
pure panoRAMa awesome thanks bro i will order it. You can go wrong when you are prepared for battle haha. Thanks for the quick reply bro
@@drummerguy676 You got it man! I'm all about helping when I can! It really makes life easy popping those things out.
His ball joint press is a C Clamp
Damn.. I should do mine. I have done it before and i remember it being a pain in the ass.. and for some reason I thought we had to greese something with the grease gun when we were done. I could be wrong.
Crafty by Nature yes! I pump grease into them if they're greaseable joints after I get them on truck. I didn't show that. They are "greased" when you get them, but I always add my own to them after install! Ball joint press makes them easy as can be.
Wow I am an idiot, when you said replace every week, I had to rewind to see just kidding. Common sense isn't common
Probably would have been easier and faster to completely remove the driveshaft and work on a bench. Couldn't really see 2/3 of what you did. Too dark.
was thinking the same thing... also, replace all three at the same time and for get about it for another 100k miles lol.
It’s easiest to take the shaft off and use the vice
The driveshaft is balanced no need to mark shit up
@southmainauto in the opening roll through scene?
This is definitely NOT the easiest way to do this Lmao! Not that this is incorrect procedure or anything.
Lol dude pull it out and use a bench thats a 45 minute job
My bench was buried in a mess of shit for the longest time. I've had a few jobs that I've got into and had poor planning ahead of time, that could have saved me time and energy 😂
