i say do whatever you want!! trust me I have some sketchbooks that have like... tiny unfinished pen doodles and white space on every page, there's no wrong way to fill one or to create :) I say do whatever you want but don't try to pressure yourself into any set goal either! create for you and how you best create. for some people that's clean sketchbooks, some people it's messy, some in between, and for me its always changing :-) but no way of making art is boring art!! best of luck with your stuff and thanks for watching 🦌💗

This is my comfort video, seriously. Whenever I feel uninspired or like my art/sketchbook is messy and doesn't look how it should, I rewatch this video because it's a reminder that art can be messy and that's what makes it beautiful. If you try too hard, it won't end up being, as you said, "a time capsule," because it isn't the real you and your real experiences. I feel the same way ! This video is so comforting, I love watching it when I doubt.. I stopped drawing a while ago and really wanted to go back, I bought a sketchbook but I was so afraid. Still am actually. I'm afraid It won't look good, afraid to be disappointed of myself, like I lose what my hands could do before...but this video.. It's just wonderful. This sketchbook bursts of creativity and love and that's what I always wanted to make. Sealdeer is an inspiration for me and she reminds me why I love drawing in the first place, the fact that you could enjoy yourself by creating something, giving it life.. I'm always trying to find excuses like "The sketchbook is too this, or not enough that, I won't feel confortable drawing in it" etc etc, but in reality the only thing stopping me is myself. I'm my own fear.. But this has to stop, because I'm not happy. So this week, I will draw !!! ( sorry for the long comment, kinda have a retrospective while writing this 😂 Have a lovely day !)

Sometimes I look at perfect sketchbooks and feel bad that mine has stickers, mixed media (nail polish, gosh I love using nail polish) and pressed flowers everywhere. Yours looks incredible and it shows me that it doesn't need to be perfect to be beautiful!

I know you don't give a damn about my opinion and that you surely heard it everywhere, but here it goes; I personally don't believe in "perfect" sketchbooks. Sometimes you just have to have an idea and expand it on paper with how many markers, stickers or magazine pages you want, forgetting what other artists do. It's not creative to always want to imitate them. I recently started my first sketchbook and it feels so much better to take the freedom of being yourself. You can even find your own aesthetic there 😉😉

i have amazing news for you they absolutley can look however you want!! there's no rules!! just go wild, glue stuff in, write things, just throw urself and ur ideas on the page and don't worry too much about what you might be tempted to write off as "bad art" :D I'm sure your stuff is great ! thanks for commenting, it means a lot :")

i think collage-sketchbooks are extra ASMR-like, they have all the extra crinkley paper attached to them so every time you turn a page its Very Audible

As a hobbyist artist and science student, it's always been difficult for me to just draw what I wanted. I felt like everything should have looked nice and clean, and my sketchbooks looked so plain... I actually think it's a good thing that you go pen first without a sketch. I've heard many experienced artists say that if you don't sketch and go in with a pen first, it helps make more confident line work. Also I really love how colorful your art is🥺💕

I love these sketchbooks so much like, we get to see the unfinished characters and sketches, the thinking process, what’s going in the artists mind, storyboards and there’s not so perfect unfinished illustration. It looks real like yes everyone makes mistake and no one is perfect. Watching such sketchbook tours is therapeutic for small and beginners artist in general so they can forget the idea of being perfect and just let loose 💜💜💜

When the music went crescendo it felt kinda like when a movie character realizes they're in love with the person that is talking to them. They are just so mesmerized they end up not really paying attention to what the person is saying, but then, slowly, they are brought back to reality. That was really great, I loved everything, thank you for sharing!
honestly I came back to this video after awhile, and I wanna say how much this inspired me, art can be messy and fun, and I've found myself drawing over other drawings and throwing anything and everything I can find in it, and it's made art more fun and liberating

i have amazing news for you they absolutley can look however you want!! there's no rules!! just go wild, glue stuff in, write things, just throw urself and ur ideas on the page and don't worry too much about what you might be tempted to write off as "bad art" :D I'm sure your stuff is great ! thanks for commenting, it means a lot :")

i think collage-sketchbooks are extra ASMR-like, they have all the extra crinkley paper attached to them so every time you turn a page its Very Audible

As a hobbyist artist and science student, it's always been difficult for me to just draw what I wanted. I felt like everything should have looked nice and clean, and my sketchbooks looked so plain... And THIS VIDEO helped me to finally start expressing myself throught art!

Like art and "study" dor Hobbies felt like I was always like I was doing something wrong ( still kinda feel) , I was kinda ashamed to show what I draw.
This video and other is helping me to let go of this type of thoughts.
Drawing is fun for me and helps with my struggles.

I actually think it's a good thing that you go pen first without a sketch. I've heard many experienced artists say that if you don't sketch and go in with a pen first, it helps make more confident line work. Also I really love how colorful your art is🥺💕

I love these sketchbooks so much like, we get to see the unfinished characters and sketches, the thinking process, what’s going in the artists mind, storyboards and there’s not so perfect unfinished illustration. It looks real like yes everyone makes mistake and no one is perfect. Watching such sketchbook tours is therapeutic for small and beginners artist in general so they can forget the idea of being perfect and just let loose 💜💜💜

this is probably the closest to reality sketchbook video i have ever seen... I love how "messy" it looks the "imperfections" and oh lord that scribble page is wonderful (bc she kept it instead of tearing and throwing it away) and all in all it looks wonderful 😍😭

i love this video so much,, i struggle with anxiety around drawing (and in general lol) but this video helps remind me that i can make rough collage-like bright sketchy mixed media pages full of personality, and that i should just make things that make me happy :)

I love this!! Sketckbooks are for having fun and practicing, most sketchbook tours I 've seen show neat and perfect sketchbooks, which makes some people insecure about their art, but this video was amazing, thankyou for this! Its full of creativity and I love that its messy!
I loke the feeling that you don't limit yourself and don't care what it turns out. It feels like you're just pouring every emotions in each work. The messiness adds to the Aesthetics. The authenticity shows.

When the music went crescendo it felt kinda like when a movie character realizes they're in love with the person that is talking to them. They are just so mesmerized they end up not really paying attention to what the person is saying, but then, slowly, they are brought back to reality. That was really great, I loved everything, thank you for sharing!
