When Greg took a sip of the energized drink, and said it was delicious, but better not get too much energy at once, he was probably really saying that it tasted terrible, and that was why he gave the rest of it to Jann.
Beaver Cleaver also got to talk to Don Drysdale on the phone long distance. Don Drysdale was the only celebrity to appear as himself in Leave it to Beaver.
If I remember right, the call cost $9.35. Back then, it was about 8 hours of work at minimum wage. Today that's the equivalent of about $100, or 14 hours of minimum wage work.
This was one episode that didn't age very well with Don Drysdale bemoaning the tough life of an MLB player. I believe the MLB minimum salary is now seven figures.
@@gretchennelson7056 I'm a big sports fan--and I agree. We've gotten our priorities all messed up when medical researchers are just scraping by and guys who play games get nine figures. I prefer attending amateur sports events nowadays.
When Drysdale told Greg about travelling to away games in broken down busses, did he mean that back in those days that they travelled to away games in busses, even across the country to away games on the East Coast? Back then it probably cost far less to fly across the country than it would to take a bus across the country today, making stops in every state and what not.
Overconfidence?? Homeless people are all lacking confidence. CEO's, Michael Jordan, Warren Buffett are always max'd in confidence. Your problem is you're offended by it.
Im surprised they knew about the value of a ballplayers autograph back then, i didnt think that was around until the late 80's... or maybe it was tingue in cheek and that was the joke
Are you kidding? Autographs have always been valued even from baseball players like Babe Ruth in the early 1900s. Signatures, letters etc from notable people always become valuable over time due to rarity/historical significance. You’re acting like the Brady bunch was the dinosaur age
It's amazing cause this is Greg Brady's real life story.. Only he did it in acting. That was one of the reasons why they shut down the show. All the kids had all these demands mainly because the kids all thought they were huge stars.
A little bit unrealistic in that no little league coach would have allowed 12 runs to be scored in the first inning off the same pitcher, and this was BEFORE the so-called "mercy rule". And, seriously, would virtually ANY pitcher, even in little league, allow 12 runs in one inning without getting a single batter out? Something like four or five runs would have been more realistic, with Greg getting at least one batter to fly out.
Carol says you should come to the ballet with us once in a while. I’m Alice come to the ballet on a Saturday who the hell is going to clean the toilets you lol
Ballet students don't wear tutus to class. They wear leotards. Some schools don't even want you to show up in leotards but instead to change when you get there.
@@VinMar-m6w Wasn't like that back then either. Also, their long hair would need to be tied back. I'm guessing Sherwood didn't have any kids in ballet or he didn't pay attention.
Your dedication to detail is quite remarkable, almost as if you’re part of the show’s continuity team. While it’s fun to spot and discuss these historical quirks, perhaps there’s also charm in embracing the show as a product of its time-flaws included. After all, it’s the imperfections in the vintage tapestry of ‘The Brady Bunch’ that add to its enduring appeal. It’s a gentle reminder that seeking perfection, in old TV shows or in our daily interactions, might not always lead to joy. Sometimes the pursuit of happiness lies in appreciating the whimsy of imperfection.
Arguably, the girls weren't AT practice yet, so they could have tied their hair back when they got there. And the tutus could have been them just being excited to try on their costumes for the upcoming recital. Regardless, the choice to put the actresses in fairy princess tuts and long hair for this scene was definitely a "prettier" option than tucking their hair away and having them in street clothes over leotards, and this was television after all.
In a later episode, the girls are actually in black leotards, pink tights, NO skirts/tutus, and their hair up in a bun when they’re at ballet class (Try, Try, Again-Season 5).
I love Marcia's reaction when Greg gives Cindy his Autograph
Her facial expression was GREAT!
“Then the coach gave Greg the hook”😂😂😂
Greg Brady do you want a boyfriend🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
If I was the coach and my pitcher let the opposing team score 12 runs in the first inning, I'd give him the hook too! LOL
@@retroguy9494That was the best and funniest line in this episode🤣

Peter and Bobby make a great tag team😂😂
Mike and Carol enjoying a plate of chocolate chip cookies and giant gum drops with their morning coffee.
When Mike kicks Peter in his rear end when they're leaving at 2:25 Lol 😂!
With that drink, Greg gonna be in the bathroom and not on the pitcher's mound
Oh, there will be a mound, all right!

mike's blue sweater is beautiful. and peter is my favorite brady kid.
The kids were SO Young!!!!
Happy 54th anniversary to a TV treasure:)
I love how Mike literally kicks his son in the ass for making fun of his brother
Unless his foot is his hand all he gave was a little tap on the butt.
To his credit, that autograph probably is worth something.
Not much. But THAT particular one that he handed to Cindy...might be good money if it still exists.
Bwahahaha! Mike kicked Peter in the butt.
Peter is lucky that Mike's foot was the only thing that went up there.
The coach waited until Greg gave up 12 runs before pulling him? Brutal.
I loved this show!!! I watched it growing up... ❤❤❤😊😊😊...
I always identified with Peter. We actually looked a lot alike back then too.
Arthur?

12 runs in the 1st inning !! Lol 😆

Without an out.
He wouldn't listen to the coach
Mike's velour shirt. 😮
I had to rewatch. My mom bought me and my brother matching mustard velour short sleeve shirts. 1979ish.
"He meant the guys who weren't good enough" 😆😆
Mom always said you shouldn't play ball in the house 😂
Greg Brady "They'd be lucky if they get a foul tip off of me today," Well Greg, you'd be lucky if they swung and missed at one of your pitches.
99% of what I know about Don Drysdale comes from this episode.
All you need to know about him is this: if you dug in against Drysdale, the next pitch was headed for your ear.
This was one episode that didn't age very well with Don Drysdale bemoaning the tough life of an MLB player. I believe the MLB minimum salary is now seven figures.
How about that new phenom that the Dodgers got…a 700 million dollar contract. That is just obscene.

This video is incomplete. Another line before it got cut off. I remember my childhood days. LoL. Why so quick to end it. LoL
Greg's coach should not have kept him in the game after 12 runs in the 1st inning. Minimum 5 or 6 and that should have been it for him.
Unless he was so cocky that he'd blame everyone else for the first 5 runs.

Minor league teams still do. When this episode aired, all the MLB teams were travelling by airplane or train.
... and then he REALLY got his lunch!
Carol's dress is so cute.
Every time we anger the gods with overconfidence, they're sure to knock us off our pedestal. Pride goeth before a fall is something Greg had to learn.

I agree about the part about the cold arm. That would be a VERY small price to pay for all that money🙃😎
lol. Greg got shelled.
“Turnip tops, beet bottoms, wheat germ and cod liver oil”🤮🤮🤮🤮
Imagine Carol and Alice seeing those items on the grocery list.
You know Greg didn't like it that's why he turned to smoking 🚬 weed 🌿 later on
