That will probably won’t apply to them. Since some of them like to abuse their own power to get out of any criminal situation they are in. I think that children should be taught at an early age about what molestation is, this should be taught by parents or in schools. Most of the time, the child is too young to comprehend that they have been abused.
A lot of them are taught now, but a determined predator will use guilt, shame, & scare tactics, &/or try to convince a victim think it's some natural occurrence during grooming. When it comes down to it...victims don't get to make the choice of abuse, & it's extremely difficult if one does have enough bravery to try to get help.

It will be a voluntary punishment though. They will have the option to choose whether they prefer a lighter sentence with castration or aka the full sentence and full trial. Think about it as a plea deal. Keep in mind wrongful convictions only make around 2% or 10% of the prison and jail population. 70% of those are misdemeanors. Also be open to the fact that many of those cases were from around the 1980s those cases were back when the start of DNA evidence was coming to use. Although a small percentage were from around the early 2000s False accusations still happen yet they are harder to prosecute. A whopping 70% of sexual abuse claims never lead to convictions. Not that those 70% are false rather as modern technology comes the more harder it is to make accusations without evidence being the most important key. As impartial approaches are no longer accepted as mucha s they were years ago. We're also seeing an increase in soft on crime policies. A few comments; 1- If the death penalty does not stop criminal activity why would this? 2- If the offender know fears the punishment enough he will go that one step more & murder their victim to remove a witness. 3- As commented elsewhere in these comments, How do you restore justice to the wrongfully convicted, police are more concerned about making an arrest than ensuring they have the right person, they hide information that will prove a person innocent & often make up false evidence/lie to get convictions. 1,000's of innocent people lay in graves for crimes they didn't commit & 10,000's of people have lost most of their lives sitting in prisons having broken no laws before it is discovered they are actually innocent.
Exactly
You sound like you’re protecting pre*ators…wonder why that would be
I don’t like this idea at all. Too easy for something to go wrong. Also, the constitution guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This would definitely fall under the life category, in my opinion
In case anyone was wondering, we live in Germany right as Hitler was thrown into prison.

All the people worried about an innocent person having this happen…you do realize Louisiana has the death penalty too, right?

I'm optimistic that this will fail- we are humans, not dogs in some third-world country.
Don't be so sure. These are the same "christians" who think forcing a nine year old rape victim to birth the rapists baby is "God's will."
I've been saying this all along as a survivor of rape and attempted murder I'm all on board with this decision
Are you a sexhaver though?
So Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Bill Gates, Wienstien, etc will be included right
It will apply to those who flew to Island right?

louisiana has the highest wrongful convictions rate in the country 😂 so louisiana about to be a choir!
They need to meet certain criteria of evidence.
Agreed. Undeniable proof of guilt then 100%.
That almost Never Happens. Which is why this is dumb. There are prosecutors who will literally make stuff up and get people convicted, largely because they can lie and can't be prosecuted.
Like what?
Most times there is no proof , perpetrators commit the crime when there is only the victim around.
But you need no more witnesses to the crime, the perpetrator and the vict are enough

Sorry but that sounds as barbaric as the muslim cutting hands off thieves. BARBARIC.
I don't think so. Considering the crimes involved and how prevalent it is, if nothing else, it may deter some people from pursuing it for fear of getting caught. When the punishment is strict....people get scared.

Throwing an insane penalty at an insane crime doesn't make a sane outcome...

Why not just never let them out of prison? Life without parole seems fair.
It’s because they want to release them it cost money to house them.

So, someone who gets accused, and convicted, of a sex crime and then is later vindicated somehow gets their testicles back? It happens all the time!
Is this going to be applied to priests and preachers too or will their religious orgs still be allowed to transfer them out of jurisdiction?
When your state is drowning in problems of infant mortality, lack of quality healthcare, unequal access to education, worst rates of race based discrimination, crumbing economies, shattered neighborhoods all you can think about is ripping peoples nuts off. Louisiana needs help. And it’s lawmakers really are not helping.

I disagree with “way too many”. It’s only a few that have been wrongly convicted. Lots of s-x offenders have had little to no convictions. And they’ve been free to repeat their offenses. However I agree this punishment will create more problems.
