Mack's Canyon Camping

- Join us on an overnight camping trip up to one of favorite local, and COOL-down spots in Southern Nevada: Mack’s Canyon, Mt. Charleston. To escape the heat of Southern Nevada, the local head … UP! Up to higher elevation, and that remedy is Mt. Charleston. Mt. Charleston has many campgrounds, but Mack’s Canyon is a hidden gem. A dispersed camping area, with plenty of isolation and nature to unwind and de-stress. This is one of our favorite places in our “backyard”.

Looks like a beautiful camping spot… dinner looked great as well. I also love brussel sprouts! Hope you feel better soon.
It’s really beautiful up there. I’m on the mend, and I’m on my way to another adventure today!
This is my summer weekend getaway! So many cool spots to camp.
Great video as always. Thank you for sharing with us. Oh, and I too love Brussel Sprouts.
Thank you for watching! So happy I didn’t offend you with the brussels sprouts! 😊
Great video Nix! I enjoy tagging along with you two on your outdoor adventures. Planning on taking the family to one of your recommended spots very soon.
That makes me happy to read! Love that my videos have inspired you to have some adventures to where I’ve been!
like the commentary and video style in beginning.....You recommend 2WD only 1 mile in...but is it doable all the way to where you were? PS: if you want to be sick less, lose the Apple Watch. might enjoy a book called THE INVISIBLE RAINBOW. A video on Odysee - covid vaccines: saviour or death, might be your cup of tea as well.
I would definitely NOT recommend taking a 2 wheel drive all the way to the end of Mack's Canyon where we camped. The road gets A LOT rougher, uneven, loose rocks, and some clearance is definitely needed. It wasn't the Apple Watch that made me sick, my husband gave me Covid, which is why I was ill and raspy on the voice over part. But if you are concerned, I rarely wear my iWatch. It's annoying.
I held my breath when you met the truck on your way in. It looked like you were so close to the edge and that there wasn't enough space for you both.
I love brussel sprouts as long as they are swimming in butter 😂😂
Great video, I look forward to your next one!
Oh man! Yeah! When the Forest Service truck passed me I was nervous! Yup, the side of the road had a bit of a drop off, and I stayed as far from the edge as I could! I think the Ranger could see my anxiety. But if anyone knows how to pass you on that road, the Forest Service certainly does.
@@NixAdventrex That's true. I had to be taken off a mountain once and the rangers were driving on what was basically trails. I almost wished they had left me and my broken ankle up there lol But they got me down, safe and sound.
so you wouldnt say taken a car up there?
Absolutely not to where we camped - Mack's Canyon, if you drive to where we camped, is about 4 miles in and you NEED 4x4 capability. Also, this past winter saw record snow so I wouldn't be surprised if there is still some some on the trail in some spots. If you want to take a car / 2wd vehicle, I would say only to go about .25 of mile up the road, then it starts to get more steep, winding, and depending on the snow from this year, and the water melting off, it may be rutted out making it even more impassable for a regular 2wd vehicle. But there is plenty of camping right at the beginning of Macks Canyon road off of NV 156 / Lee Canyon Road.
