He cared about them so much, done so much for them, all with an excuse "I'm paying back a dept". What a dept babie? He's honestly such an sweetheart. Did you ever see him complain about his life? Yes he did complain when he was a kid, but did you see him say anything about how he has it hard when he was an adult? He never mentioned it in front of people, never once complained. And there is Do san who cried every now and then about how his life Is hard when in reality he had everything. Partners? He had them. Friends? He had them. A shelter? He never once had to worry where he's going to sleep. Had food, enough money. Everything a person could wish for, and yet he asked Ji Pyeong : "I only have that one thing, and you're taking it away from me?" ?!?!? I'M SO MAD At first do san wanted Dal mi just because his parents were always saying he wouldn't get a girl lmao. That's way he held onto her at the beginning. And then there is Ji Pyeong who genuinely cared since the beginning.
lets not villainise do-san like that cmon you should know that do-san was kind of at his lowest in the beginning, and when a person is unhappy, they really cant see much other than the one thing/ person they want sure his character did feel a little more shallow compared to ji-pyeong's but he was never as bad a guy as you make him out to be

The worry, the concern, the love they have for each other is palpable in every hug, every smile they share. Both are such tremendous actors - they breathe life into this relationship. To me, the drama was all about Halmoni and her Ji Pyeong ah. SeonHo ssi has such beautiful smile- full of mischief and life, that its hard to see him cry. More so cuz Ji Pyeong fights his tears and hides his hurts from the world with everything he has. My heart rejoiced at the scenes of JiPyeong at DalMi's home where they were all preparing the festival food together. Then later Ji Pyeong falls asleep on their couch and the three ladies are talking in hushed voices lest he wake up. I mean Han Ji Pyeong has never had such simple gifts of life before. Having a family care for you, make fun of you, laugh at you, laugh with you - and Do San takes his family for granted. He doesn't even realize what a blessing it is to have parents to nag and yell at him. I think Halmonis are Seon Ho ssi's lucky charms - Start Up Halmoni is numero uno, then I also loved Halmoni from Hometown Cha Cha Cha, and finally, the Halmoni from Strongest Delivery man (even though their scene was short, it was momentous cuz it changed Oh Jin Gyu radically )
I thought i moved on from this show, but you reeled me back in. Yet again, i'm reminded on how HJP DESERVED MUCH MORE! He was so selfless throughout, ran to everyones aid when needed and what did he get in return?? a damn plant?? Still not over it.
whaah...that was a heavy one..it's like i haven't cried enough the last two eps for me to cry even more now HJP deserved the world and more, he deserved happniess, peace and mutual love but nevertheless he had Grandma to ease his worries and pain everytime.. he had a real family for an orphan who experienced hardships since he was very young.. and i'm glad.. i'm at peace knowing grandma will be always by his side
Now I watched this, this just remind me how angry I was to what the writer did to HJP 😭 the ending is still unsatisfying. Kim seonho, suzy, nam joo hyuk is all excellent actors, no doubt in that. I don’t blame them, it is just the way HJP written in this whole series, he is just a stepping stone for seo dalmi and nam dosan after all.

Seonho makes this drama as his. I never got stuck on any drama carachter even it is Goblin. Seonho made me stuck on him, not just jipyeong. He raised the standart for a drama carachter . It is hard to move on. It took me a long time to move on from Goblin but this time i dont think i'll move on because i got stuck on seonho. I'll just follow whatever drama he will play, because he himself is a great emotion projector actor
I honestly find Ji-Pyeong n grandma's chemistry unique.....like yeah he didn't get the girl but he didn't lose the friendship he had with Grandma.....like yeah he liked Dal-mi but he cared far more for Grandma, to Ji-Pyeong she means more since she filled up his world even with a lil bit of warmth.... It was something he could never forget or repay .....

Omg I’m sorry but when do San said that he only has one thing I rolled my eyes 🙄 seriously he grew up in a warm loving home with a mom, and dad. He had a roof over his head even when he was an adult. He didn’t have to worry about food or worry about what would happen to him. He’s had so much stuff that hjp didn’t but he thinks that hjp is supposed to give it to him.
The killer sentence is “you are taking away from me?”, as we know HJP has many dear things taken away from him (his parents, a shelter at the orphanage) so he isn’t going to take away anything from another person. He is asked to sign on as mentor to help his mentees win each competition, he gives 400 advice and more along the way, let one of his mentee airs his grievances with the fists, all the way until they can stand on their own two feet.
@@user-sk7ux1tf3t i absolutely agree. i'm a fairly big fan of nam joohyuk's and his previous works (esp. the light in your eyes was a gem of a drama), but the writer REALLY did him dirty with this character. whenever i see scenes of dosan crying about how bad he has it or how little he has in his life, i seriously get a freaking gag reflex b/c of how much of a joke it is. here's dosan claiming he has nothing when he has loving parents who eternally support him no matter what he chooses to do, close friends who are always with him and joined his start-up even when they wouldn't receive any wages, and dalmi whom he essentially wooed with deceit, jealousy, and selfishness. nam dosan has to be one of the WORST written kdrama male leads i've ever seen, and nam joohyuk really shouldn't have chosen this role b/c he deserves a much, much, much better character than dOsAn.

Maybe he didn’t know how awful of a character NDS is gonna be and that’s why he decided to accept the role. Because I actually liked NDS in the first few episodes and his character had sooo much potential to grow. That’s just sad. I don’t know what the writer thought she was doing. I’m still confused. Did she really think audience will love NDS? From what I’ve seen, it’s mostly diehard teenage NJH fans who were rooting for NDS. Honestly I don’t see any other reason for their love for NDS other than the fact that it’s NJH who portrays the character.

Yeah HJP deserved so much more.... he was literally kind of Sandbox or the safety net to DalMi in a way.... writer who created it wants to be cruel to her own creation... Quite sad...... Don't do this man.. I'm on my way to office and I usually drive down. Today I decided to hail a cab n now am just watching start-up VMs on YT. This video has me sitting in the backseat, crying like a fool and my driver confused as hell as to what can he do to salvage the situation 😅 This video is heartbreaking, raw, open, bare-faced and an accurate accumulation of all the pain and the emotions Han Ji Pyeong went though his entire life.. Eu achei incrível o desenvolvimento do Ji Pyeong durante o drama, e principalmente o relacionamento dele com a vó da Dal Mi. Pra mim esse foi um dos melhores pontos do drama! A conexão entre eles, e as cenas dos dois foram muito bem pensadas (daquele jeito pra quebrar nosso coração em mil pedaços haha). Minhas cenas favoritas foram quando ele vai atrás dela chorando depois de descobrir que ela estava perdendo a visão e a cena final dos dois, que ela diz pra ele não ficar sozinho. It shows how ungrateful and spoiled he is as a person, he's basically saying that his parents and friends, the house over his head he's had his whole life, they're all nothing to him. Unbelievable. And he's saying this to Han Jipyeong of all people, a person who really knows what it means to have nothing.

His scenes are all so powerful and emotional 😭 I cannot help crying everytime i watch gosh. How can the writer made him suffer so much. Omg I’m sorry but when do San said that he only has one thing I rolled my eyes 🙄 seriously he grew up in a warm loving home with a mom, and dad. He had a roof over his head even when he was an adult. He didn’t have to worry about food or worry about what would happen to him. He’s had so much stuff that hjp didn’t but he thinks that hjp is supposed to give it to him.
The only thing Nam Dosan didn’t have was character development, peridot
The killer sentence is “you are taking away from me?”, as we know HJP has many dear things taken away from him (his parents, a shelter at the orphanage) so he isn’t going to take away anything from another person. He is asked to sign on as mentor to help his mentees win each competition, he gives 400 advice and more along the way, let one of his mentee airs his grievances with the fists, all the way until they can stand on their own two feet.
I hate NDS so much. Worst male lead in the history of Korean dramas.
@@user-sk7ux1tf3t i absolutely agree. i'm a fairly big fan of nam joohyuk's and his previous works (esp. the light in your eyes was a gem of a drama), but the writer REALLY did him dirty with this character. whenever i see scenes of dosan crying about how bad he has it or how little he has in his life, i seriously get a freaking gag reflex b/c of how much of a joke it is. here's dosan claiming he has nothing when he has loving parents who eternally support him no matter what he chooses to do, close friends who are always with him and joined his start-up even when they wouldn't receive any wages, and dalmi whom he essentially wooed with deceit, jealousy, and selfishness. nam dosan has to be one of the WORST written kdrama male leads i've ever seen, and nam joohyuk really shouldn't have chosen this role b/c he deserves a much, much, much better character than dOsAn.
@@enoki1316 true. I feel bad for NJH. I’ve heard that Korean actors only receive the script of the first few episodes and decide to choose. Maybe he didn’t know how awful of a character NDS is gonna be and that’s why he decided to accept the role. Because I actually liked NDS in the first few episodes and his character had sooo much potential to grow. That’s just sad.
I don’t know what the writer thought she was doing. I’m still confused. Did she really think audience will love NDS? From what I’ve seen, it’s mostly diehard teenage NJH fans who were rooting for NDS. Honestly I don’t see any other reason for their love for NDS other than the fact that it’s NJH who portrays the character.
My heart is even more broken now that it was before. Such a beutiful tribute, i'm out of words. Your choice of voiceovers and the scene selection it's so on point... god! here I am crying again.
I came right after finishing the show, i'm not gonna lie I mostly finished it for him. He deserved so much better. aaaahhhh I love this video so much! I know I'm gonna go back to it everytime I miss him or everytime I need a good cry, love it! :')

Yeah HJP deserved so much more.... he was literally kind of Sandbox or the safety net to DalMi in a way.... writer who created it wants to be cruel to her own creation... Quite sad...... Anyways HJP will be remembered forever... No matter how many Kdramas come in future, not sure whether will be invested in a character like this.. :)

This video makes me sad and even angry all over again. Why...why does the writer throw away such a perfect character? It literally goes to waste. Han Jipyeong deserves much happiness... No, I don't think he even deserves Dalmi. He deserves someone better than her. Only Haelmoni understand and love him. It's just not fair how the story went. We got forced to accept the ending and it makes us feel even frustated. But at least, I get to know Kim Seon Ho and he got his fame because of this part. Jokes on them haha... Biggest downfall of Start Up was not giving this character what he deserved. It ended already but I am still so disappointed in this drama. Without his character, this drama would have been nothing. I hope to see Kim Seon Ho as the main lead in another drama! Secretly hoping he does a drama with IU LOL

Mas sério, eu AMEI esse video!!! Eu achei incrível o desenvolvimento do Ji Pyeong durante o drama, e principalmente o relacionamento dele com a vó da Dal Mi. Pra mim esse foi um dos melhores pontos do drama! A conexão entre eles, e as cenas dos dois foram muito bem pensadas (daquele jeito pra quebrar nosso coração em mil pedaços haha).
Minhas cenas favoritas foram quando ele vai atrás dela chorando depois de descobrir que ela estava perdendo a visão e a cena final dos dois, que ela diz pra ele não ficar sozinho. Foi perfeito porque mostrou o lado frágil do personagem, e o Seonho fez um trabalho MARAVILHOSO na atuação!
Pra mim foi realmente uma pena a forma como esse drama acabou virando fanwar de ships, quando na verdade tem tanta coisa incrível que merece mais foco...
E mais uma vez: VIDEO MARAVILHOSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Simmmm a relação dele com a vovó foi o melhor pra mim. E sim, por mais que eu tenha meu ship eu preferia que tivessem deixado esse triangulo logo no começo e tivessem focado mais na história individual dele. Isso teria sido bem melhor....

1:16 even more than the violence and childish recklessness, this moment right here is made me dislike Dosan the most. Dosan with his normal parents and loyal friends. It shows how ungrateful and spoiled he is as a person, he's basically saying that his parents and friends, the house over his head he's had his whole life, they're all nothing to him. Unbelievable. And he's saying this to Han Jipyeong of all people, a person who really knows what it means to have nothing.
That's exactly the reason why 90% of the people that watch this drama connected with han hi pyeong instead of dosa a selfish person who had everything.
