Best review ever, love your humor I bet it's a blast to work with you. Just ordered mine! Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
I also wear glasses and these Half Face Respirators are the only thing that helps preventing my glasses from fogging...
I literally JUST got this today :D i bought it cause Im really sensative to secondhand cigarette smoke and once i got this thing, all my fears went away
I appreciated your video. I also switched over to the 3M half face respirators with P100s which are more dependable over time, comfortable to wear and breathe, form a better seal, and provide greater protection than the N95 paper-polypropylene types.
Thanks Dr. J. I hope it works great for you. :-)
Great review, the best I have seen. In use with specs, headlight and eye protection AND telling us what size of mask was in use. Top man. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for visiting :-)
I'm a manufacturing technician for a very small company. I drill fiberglass almost weekly. Lots of dust. I've been using N95 paper masks, but I'm finding them lacking.
Looking into ordering one of these right now. As in I've got approval and I'm figuring out how the next model of this same mask works. Mostly making sure I'm getting the correct filtration for that fine fiberglass dust.
So thanks for confirming my assumptions and putting me at ease that I'm setting this thing up right and ordering the right stuff.
You're welcome :-)
Really sold me on the mask! Also love your energy so I subbed! God bless and stay safe 🤙
Thanks for the sub!
35$!! Inflation to these things up to 65-70$ now I'll still buy one though
I bought this for resin and i was so confused by assembly and didn’t know if i needed the extra filter. This helped! I’ll just use the basic one without extra cover for epoxy
Hi Royce, glad I could help. Cheers!
Great video! Love your personality!
Thank you so much!!
Thanks, great video.
You're welcome!
Awesome video! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Great video, pal, and funny too, thanks a lot for sharing, it helped me a lot.
So glad you enjoyed it :-)
Been in the paint shop a couple times using primer and had no coughs really or anything but when I got to paint - WOW. Regular COOF mask helped with coughing but it fogged my glasses out big time and eventually coughed again. Yeah, I like my 6000. I want my lungs working in 30 years for sure!
We can take people to Mars but still have no solution for fogging up glasses. :-)
Very helpful , now I know what mask to buy !
Glad I could help!
cheers mate you sold me!
Awesome :-)
Great video thanks
You're very welcome
Always used one since the covid outbreak, long-term cost is lower than disposable masks.
Hahahaha COVID outbreak
Yeah I have it and is good
60 year old nonsmoker living in apt above Trap City, so hoping this will help. My first ever respirator mask & it just came in today, so needed to see how to fit it & put it on. I have nothing to compare it to, but it does feel heavy. Good seal!
Good luck! Keep us posted ;-)
the 6001CN filter attached in the video is used for chemicals. i suggest getting the 5N11CN N95 pre filter and attach it to your 6001CN chemical filter attached in your respirator too so it will both act to filter both chemicals and particulates. in case you didn’t know, the round pink 2097 P100 (US standard) / P3 (Euro standard) particulate filter is being used by medical frontliners for protection against covid because P100 particulate filters attached to half or full face respirators are better than N95 respirators.
Thanks you, yes I have the pre-filters and the pink ones as well. Ordered them all together.
Agreed! Better protection provides less risk for getting sick. Especially crucial for those with pre-existing vulnerabilities to serious medical complications. Stay informed, stay prepared, and stay safe.
@@dr.j6747 what are your recommendations for elastomeric and p100 filters? I want to buy my first elastomeric :)
60926 filters are for everything all at once - the one filter to rule them all.
For your safety, please review the detailed instructions for this unit which state, "Do not use
with beards or other facial hair that prevent direct contact between the face and the edge of the respirator." This is typical for any type of full or half mask respirator.
Yes I have read the safety details for this mask and researched many others before purchasing. I appreciate your concern but it's been working great for me. Much better that using a cloth mask as long as I keep my beard short and shave my neck. A very noticeable improvement in my breathing and no smell whatsoever.
You are so funny I enjoy your videos! I have COPD and thanks to you I will get that mask and be able to breathe.
Thanks Linda and welcome aboard! :-) Always happy to help someone breathe...
Hi sir, this video realy help me,tnx a lot.
Glad to hear that
I bought this mask for my Dad because I wanted him to have a better one than the 3M 6200. I actually like it and am thinking if getting one for myself.
I just got a second one myself. It's a great mask.
@@mydreamboatproject Cool! I bought the rest of my family the 7500s but they don’t have the latch.
AHOY, CAPT. Rainy!
Hi Carvin, thanks for popping in :-)
it was really nice video sorry but i have to say this your so cute keep this up
Ok thanks!
Thank you for showing the QL feature. Can you get replacement straps?
no idea...
I was wondering about model differences but apparently 6501 is small size, 6502 is medium, 6503 is large. I don’t know why 3M doesn’t make that clearer.
Who knows... Write to them and ask. :-)
Sound like James Earl Jone aka DV :)
great ,video ,so this could be used for timber sanding just change the different filter? thanks
Yes, absolutely
"TELEMARKETER AAHHH!"
You’re very funny
Thank you ;-)
@@mydreamboatproject Also, one of the only speech samples I could find of how much the respirator impedes speech
I'm having a really hard time trying to chose between this one and the 7500
Don't know anything about the 7500 but I really love this one... Good luck with your search.
Is the 6502 mask with the quick latch just as comfortable as the 7502? Do they both use silicone for the mouth piece?
I don't know. I only have the one.
hey Rainy, thanks for the video. I need to know if you think someone could do extreme exercise with this mask on? Wilf fire smoke kills me, dust kills me. Its so dry and smoky on the west coast in Canada, that I need a mask to wear at work, and mountain biking. I've worn the black 3m respirator for work before and its super uncomfortable. What do you think?
I have no idea as I only use it with fiberglass and epoxy. You may want to contact the manufactures at 3m and ask them. Good luck.
Does the mask release unfiltered breath? Because that was some of the problems we were having with certain masks having the wrong ventilation system?
You'll have to ask that to the company. I only know that it works great for me.
What's the best eye protection to use with this mask? I like goggles because they keep the dust out of my eyes. Does this mean I need a full face mask?
I just wear my glasses because googles don't fit over them well.
@@mydreamboatproject Thanks for the reply.
Do you like the 3M Safety Glasses Solus 1000 Series ANSI Z87?
i have the 3m p100 and its really hard to breath in. if im just in one spot i think itll be ok. but moving back and forth and walking i cant see how this wont suffocate me lol. its giving me anxiety. ive read soldiers in the war died from suffocation from using gas masks wrong
I find both this one and the military ones both ease to breathe in personally. I'd try another mask if you have problems or get someone else to do it for you. Boat building should be enjoyable. :-)
Is the 3m 7500 series also have a quick latch?
No idea. it was a while since I purchased this. It will say quick-latch in the ad if it has it.
Hi, could you tell me the dimensions on this mask. Trying to shoose my size but I can’t find how big the size M😅…Thanks for the help.
Mine's a medium. Type and model number in the description.
Which filter is recommended for spraypainting?
No idea but I'm sure it will say it on the labels before you purchase. Good luck.
One question, I just bought this mask and I was wondering how particles and gas wouldn’t just leak through the exhale valve? Is it also secure?
It's similar to a military gas mask. Air only goes out the exhaust ports and only in through the filter ports. It's important to have a good seal around your face. If you put your palms over the intake ports and inhale you should be causing a vacuum in your mask which will show you the exhale ports only work one way.
@@mydreamboatproject Thanks so much for the reply. I tested it out at work and I couldn’t believe how well it was stopping fumes. Thanks for this video as well.
@@sleeper_cell_sol Glad to hear it. 🙂
I’m curious about one thing. What kind of cartridge am I able to use with it, specifically?
Not really sure as i haven't used it in a while. I Googled it and found many choices for different uses. That should help you. Lots of them on Amazon as well from what I remember...
@@mydreamboatproject I bought the 60926 filter, which was the most popular filter on Amazon. I must say, it works like an absolute charm. At my workplace, there's dog crud, garbage smells, cigarette smoke, cannabis, vaping, and gas fumes from cars. The filter works perfectly for those environments that I all I can smell is fresh air. It's amazing!
I have a question. Why Is that I still smell fumes when I’m using the proper filter and the mask properly? Really appreciate your feedback.
Well, not knowing your situation it could be:
You don't have a proper seal?
You need to replace your filters...
You have the wrong size mask for your face?
You have the wrong filters for what you're using...
Those are just guesses... I'd contact the m manufacturer and ask them...
@@mydreamboatproject appreciate your reply. But Im pretty sure I did the right thing. when Im inhaling thats where I smell the fumes maybe the inhaling valve
@@jeffreylacsamana8827 could be... Possibly it's defective...
@@jeffreylacsamana8827If you’re smelling fumes, there’s a problem. Seal test. If seal test is good and mask is proper size then it’s the filters. Either replace the filters or check to make sure the filter you’re using is proper for whatever fumes etc. you’re being exposed to
you're hilarious
Thank you :-)
Is it hard to breathe in that? I'm asthmatic.
I cant answer that for you. Contact the manufacturer.
Do you know if this mask prevents me from spreading or getting covid-19?
I have no idea.
Yes this is better that n95
I used a port cover to only use 1 filter. 3m filter are expensive.
6500ql vs 7500?
Does the ql really matter?
I think the ql is a life saver. I constantly use it and love the convenience.
How can i buy this
I found mine on Amazon.
