The facts tho
Bro I’m weak 🤣🤣🤣
It still strikes me that a young boy from Korea was influenced by a hip hop song out of Harlem. This is the song that he started dancing to. I just think this a great story. The thing I feel from this song is; all colors & nationalities uniting/coming together for a good time.

You would not imagine a girl like me listening to Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Jade etc back in 80ties while living in a jungle...compared to BTS time..youtube wasnt even exist.. Indeed, it was a beautiful thing.
Oh and the song actually inspired him to dance. Its the first sing he heard to make him want to be a dancer. He was a street hip hop dancer for 10 years before BTS
DEACON OWENS Cool! It really shows! He’s an amazing dancer!!🙌🏾
Tori Mosé I’ve been seeing on Twitter that JHope had been dancing Chicken Noodle Soup randomly throughout the years and getting caught in the background of being filmed or on stage. It’s been his goto dance for a while so I’m glad he got to do the remix.
He recounted that when he got to meet BeckyG in the US for the first time he got very nervous that she no longer wanted to collab bc it was awkward and his English wasn’t that good.
I didn’t like the slow part either but I liked the sound of her vocals so I might check out her other songs.
Thank you for giving Hobi some love 🥺 He’s an absolute sweet heart.
bianca (the og of chicken noodle soup) saw on Instagram and Twitter all the love and appreciation she got she was really thankful. She said on social media about how much this song (the original) means to her and expressed her gratitude to jhope and Becky g. I learned that she was bullied in school because of the song and that really made me feel proud of jhope for giving her credit and money (of course) I’m royalties for this song.
HongoKanata1 that’s awesome!! 🙌🏾
@@torimose6606 It's been a love fest on social media among the three fandoms the past week... totally beautiful! An ARMY (BTS fan) saw that Bianca mentioned somewhere that what she wanted most was to be trending on twitter, so the gang trended #ThankYouBianca all the way up to #1 in the U.S. and worldwide. She was so happy!
I saw her interview on VLAD. She did it about a year ago and discussed how difficult it was getting back in the music game alone. I really think this helped give her some freedom and put her in a better position of power to make choices. 💜
@@torimose6606 2.7 mil in royalties
JHope paid the royalties and yet released it for free. Is clearly cultural appreciation and honor.
“I don’t think you know them” lmao @ the millions of fans all over the world 🤣 that was cute.

becky g talks about her nationality in the song just like jhope, u didn't understand it cos u didn't put the subtitles. she's gotten hate for not being "latina enough" so don't assume they just threw her in bc she's a woman, she was trying to prove a point for all latin americans 😉
cool
i agree
Fun fact: when he created this song he gave her 2.7million dollars plus thanked the artist for creating this song because it's what inspired him to even start dancing as a kid.
That's a lot of money tho
he bought the song. it's that simple 😂
And that changes what I said how

I think it's cultural appreciation. With the political situation in United States it is great to see so many from many nationalities and races coming together dancing and having fun right now. To me this is the America I want to live in.
BTS OMMA love this!!
exactly why would this ever be culture apropriation why is this even a question lol i love this song

Rebehka Christine Lmao
I heard that Jhope worked on this for a whole year, and had someone in mind for the becky g part so he changed it up.
In his Vlive, he explained that this song was incredibly meaningful to him because it was the first song he learned to dance to. He had initially planned to include it in his mixtape, Hope World, featuring another artist, but that ended up not working out unfortunately. He was really disappointed, but this allowed him to later work with Becky G and he said working with her was absolutely amazing and so he feels really blessed that things worked out the way they did. He couldn't say enough good things about the power of the song and the kindness of Becky, it was so sweet!
You should react to "who is bts? The seven members of bangtan" to get to know them. Also, bts gave her (original singer) credit in a press release, and jhope mentioned her in his life that same morning. They also payed 2,7 million in royalities and bts fans trended thank you messages to the original performer nr1 worldwide and in the US. 🙂

thank u saying this is not cultural appropriation but being respect, giving homage to original song. J hope loves this song so much so it wouldn't be any intention of him to disrespect anyone especially things that meant a lot to him. love chicken noodle soup by j hope n becky g collaboration, cant wait for the live performance , it would be hell dope when this happen :) im so happy j hope got love n respect that he deserve , hwaiting hobi :) thanks for reacting to this
I personally like this one better than the original. Has better flow and just makes you want to dance
Cristian Gallegos At first, I did too! I like the overall production and engineering of this song, but I’m still confused about the slow parts. It made it sound like 2 completely different songs in one. Still a great song nonetheless! 😊
@@torimose6606 Maybe I'm just used to this type of thing as a Kpop fan (I guess a lot of Kpop song producers like to mix it up and throw in parts that sound like totally different songs), but I wasn't surprised by the slow part, haha. I actually like it quite a lot.
Tori Mosé the slow part in the song is a somewhat common thing in a kpop song. They usually add slower parts before the chorus to try and make the chorus feel like it hits harder.
i agreee
Lymarie Guzmán Pérez even if it’s Kpop, I’ve never heard slow downs like that before they just don’t fit well.
Tori, I just wanted to thank you for your really insightful, sincere, and socially conscious commentary on this music video. Plus, you were really fun to watch! If I may also add this: your responses in the comments section are some of the most open and thoughtful I've come across in a comments section anywhere on UA-cam. Jhope definitely paid homage to the song that inspired him as a dancer & becoming the artist he is today. Not only did he pay almost 3 millions to the original artist to sample this song, but he released it to us for FREE!! Plus crediting all the dancers in the mv. 😊💜 [Turn on CC for English subtitles btw.]
I'm African America but staple in the black community? There are people from all over the world, every color reacting and saying this is a childhood memory. My daughter attend a elementary school and she is recalling where white kids love this song to. And if you read up on why jhope and beck g decided to do this song you will see a little Korean boy who wanted be dancer say this is the first song he dance to.And a little Latino girl say this was her favorite. Are we going rag people who appreciated our music as a child. Because a white friend of mines said her mom favorite artist growing up were the Temptation and thats all they listen to in there house . We don't want to start sounding like other. people a little prejudice
Carolyn Franklin I agree with your comment and never meant to sound prejudice at all. I really just wanted to emphasize that this song came from the black community and made us proud because it was from us. I said in the video that ‘it’s for everyone’. I also said that ‘it doesn’t matter what race you are- everyone knows this dance and this song’. I’m a black girl who grew up listening to Britney Spears. Music is universal and everyone has the right to listen to what they want and shouldn’t let race stop them. Nothing is off limits. It’s a beautiful thing ❤️
@@torimose6606 thank you I'm sorry for not understand you.
Carolyn Franklin also think of it this way, before the song got bit, we were already bumping the song in the hood.
Then it got popular, and everyone danced to it.
That’s also what she could of meant. Everyone did grow up to this song, but the song was a huge success in our community first, and the internet made it blow up even more and radio plays.
@@quwandathornton i didn't say wasn't huge success in our community but believe music doesn't belong to one community it's a feeling. My grandmother said African American were dancing to the Beatle song . Chuck Berry (African American ) ,Boys to Men covered Beatle songs.
This was the song jhope started dancing with so it's very meaningful for him 😔🤙🏻
They didn't cover the song though they bought it for 2.7 million dollars
No, they paid Bianca 2.7 million in royalties.

Just want to shout out the dancers.....The Lab are the backup dancers for this video. Their background story is incredible. They were BTS backup dancers for their tour at The Rosebowl and J-Hope was so impressed asked them to dance for this video. A nice way to pay it forward. I personally think the video is 🔥🔥
the changing of beats/the slowing down and speeding up is something seen a lot in kpop, we are used to it lolol
I love that you started this BTS journey with “Chicken noodle soup” literally why J-Hope started dancing. That’s why he wanted to do this cover/version
Also YES. Like you can tellllll it’s an Homage. Like j-hope is not TRYING to be black but black culture/music has inspired so many people like him to dance and make music. I just wish people stopped “forgetting” where all this popular music and dancing came from BLACK ARTISTS. that’s right folks you have Black people for your hip-hop, r&b and even rock music. Like give these Black creators their due.

R S Thank you!! I appreciate you❤️
Use the closed captions for the English lyrics! Basically Jhope grew up in a street dancing group (Neuron) and the remix references love for their backgrounds (Korean/Spanish) and dancing. He references his OG dance group before becoming a trainee for BigHit (label of BTS) and the low riders are a big thing in Hispanic culture. Him giving the dancers credit too is like 💯. I love this and he actually remixed it for his solo album Hopeworld but it couldn’t come out bc the feature artist fell through.
I also love hearing your take on it!! Esp your love of the original track!💜

I feel like we can’t be as critique as we watch because we will get cut off about the same story if Hoseok growing up to this song and such.
We get it.
However, the singing breakdowns aren’t it for me, and it’s confusing, like am I suppose to go fast or slow or slow or fast, help!
Becky G’s singing is pretty good though, so is her rapping. Hoseok’s voice do we even need to mention, yes we do. Silk.
Smooth.
Oof!
Dancing, might as well be water, so clear and so much flow. “Let’s get it, let it rain, clear it out, chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side” is still the same and it makes me happy as fuck.
The diversity is well spread out to where no one will feel left out, it should always be like that. We need to spread more diversity awareness, seems like we fell back on that the last few years; ever since living color and all that and such weren’t airing anymore.
You are so sweet💗 I love watching ur reactions
He paid her 2.7 MILLION dollars ..And this song means a lot to him s a street dancer...Why does no one call cultural appropriation on Beyoncé...When she did Baby boy??And her stolen (from white women) Single Ladies dance ?And many other things..J Hope's video has 3 languages and several ethnicities in dancers.....There is a difference between appropriation and homage
LOL!!! You are out of your mind, your love for them is blinding you and you have no idea what you are talking about... LOL!!! Stay in school it is the best way to eradicate ignorance.
The dance she stole wasn't a part of a culture.
I’m a big ARMY and have the biggest crush on J-Hope. I think they did a good job on the music video! I’m not gonna lie though, I was instantly worried when I saw his hair and some people talking about it, plenty of back and forth. I’m only mentioning it because there’s a lot of talk about hair when cultural appropriation is being discussed. Of course, I’m white so my opinion isn’t the most important so it was nice to see your thoughts on the music video as a whole :).

i find this reaction really interesting because growing up in Australia this song just... didn’t exist lol so the first time i ever heard it was when i listened to this version! i really didn’t like it at first and honestly thought the song was weird but after learning about the original song and what it means to j-hope it grew on me a lot.
He gave the original Artist way more than just credit, he paid him millions of dollars. And you don't need to remind kpop fans about the history of the song like they need to know which culture "owns" the song. In fact this song is a perfect example of cultures coming together and celebrating music. And this is NOT a remix it's a whole new interpretation of it so stop comparing it.
My Mexican mother was happy when I told her that HOBI had a calab with Becky G
Why have a melting pot of cultures here if no one else can enjoy them beside those who brought them here? I am Korean, Japan on my dads side and European on my mom's side. I am happy other people can appreciate all the cultures my ancestors brought over for others to experience. So it is indeed appreciation not appropreation. J-Hope loves hip hop culture and he would never ever make fun of it.
