Btw, you can tell if you're the last player in the dungeon by the mic symbol in your portrait. When there are no other players the mic symbol vanishes. Just check 10:33 on this video.

New updates gonna suck for rogues, Agi is split into agi and dexterity now. Its gonna be spellcaster meta. Strength is divided into vitality and strength.
Lol the mmr isn't even bad its not a intense game changing system and the pop isn't even high enough to keep high geared players from the timmys it just thins how many lobsters u get per lobby

I prefer the previous restriction that purple equipment cannot be brought into the general field, but MMR can at least prevent you from continuing to kill newbies who have no equipment.

My man doesn't want MMR so he can continue fighting white geared timmies every game. Even in this video basically every kill you show was against someone lesser geared than you in your "low gear" setup which is actually still more geared than the average player. When you showed your gear at the end I actually went back through the video to check the gear of the people you killed and, while you didn't show the inventory of every person, they basically all looked low gear. The first team you caught off guard was probably going to be the most geared out of the people you killed, but two of them were basically naked since you got a good jump on them while they were dropping gear and the wiz had pretty meh looking gear and jumped in place while he died lol. Purple wep and a mix of green/blue armor with random useful stats is above average gear in normals when you take into account just how many gray-green timmy players exist.
As long as they tune the MMR system so you never end up with dead lobbies it's nothing but a win and you should WANT to challenge yourself against better and higher geared players, instead of just stomping normal games full of white-green gear noobies for youtube content. Realistically that's what high roller is for as well. Still waiting for the 1v3 high roller crypts content with some sick outplays against skilled purp+ teams, NOT high roller GC which is a snoozefest. That content would pop off if you could pull it off lol.

The average Dark and Darker player doesnt get a chance to learn because every game they queue the first solo/duo/trio they see is the juiciest juice boys with no fear against this timmy with his 1 green neck piece.
There is no opportunity given for the new player to grow if the ppl they fight are able to just kill them before they can get close or just all in them and kill them in two hits. What lesson is to be learned from that? Its just going to turn the casual player base into gear fearing rats, teamers, or they may just stop playing all together.
Maybe mmr isnt the awnser but if and when ironmace finishes their legal stuff and the game gets relisted on steam and the player count for the 1st month hits 30k+ and the trade is thriving, the new players will give up and we will go back to the current 2+ minute queue times and dead trade because of juicers curb stomping timmy's. Its not hand holding to afford new players an opportunity to actually learn as opposed to spawning in fighting a couple of mobs and then the career boss runners run through the dungeon and wipe everyone to go to inferno alone.

Your MMR ranking should be high and you should only be playing against high skill/gear players. You are a high skill player, I don't see why there would be any other expectation.

While MMR isn't perfect honestly there just needs to be a way for new people to find the game accessible to some degree. If we don't want a dead game we need a path to success for new players

@@erich1380 I disagree, these games aren’t meant to be forgiving. I don’t have an absurd amount of hours to play this game, maybe 2/3hours 3-4 nights a week. I enjoy the grind and I don’t want it to get watered down because people want an easy experience.
@erich1380 Now there will be 'mountains of high end' players who reverse boost or simply just don't play the game due to being forced to sweat in every match. It isn't fun in any game with MMR when you are at the top end because of this. No one wants to have to full focus 24/7 because their MMR is too high in a casual queue of the game. (: MMR isn't a good solution to a game like this other ways like gear cap or specific queue to low hour accounts would be far more effective.@@erich1380
@@erich1380 People being placed on a similar level to me isn't a problem. It is a problem when I can no longer find the game fun casually because my MMR is too high and I'm constantly queueing people who are sweating 24/7. I have this problem in just about any FPS game with MMR that has a CASUAL queue. I couldn't care less about people's gear or the gear gap that occurs in the dungeon as I quite like it for Zero to Hero runs. I don't find my fun in beating people who are un-knowledgeable or have less gear. (Idk where you got this idea) The current system in the game I have not huge problems with besides the absurd queue times I've been getting. I just fear what will come of the MMR system in the "casual mode" (normals) if they take a similar route to the likes of Call of Duty or OW.
MMR isn't a problem Brad, shocking to see you think that it would be. Only people fighting against MMR are those who want easy lobbies.

Say you play 10 games a day. and the lobbies dont fill up within the 2-3 minutes. You've basically just sat there waiting for 20-30 mins, why make normals have a matchmaking system when theyre making a ranked system anyways?

@@brodiekochie7709 yes you can, it'll be more of a challenge, same with the example you just gave of tarkov. They're both difficult to pull off. but its been done so often if you just watch any content of dark n darker. even if you havent been able to do it urself.

long qeuetime for high mmr = smurfs incomming. it changes nothing. sadly. and to be honest, when the community realy loses the top 10% of the players because of mmr, then the 90% below wil have a better game. hard destiny for good players but no one will miss you ingame. just my 100g

my personal caveat to add here is when i switched to ranger and cleric recently, which i havent played in a couple weeks, (so I should have no MMR rank yet on those characters) and the lobby is still half or more full BIS purple and legendary people, its hilarious because that means these kitted teams in low MMR simply have to be paying real money for their gear, their mmr is low cuz they die to the other teams with alot of gear that die alot, its just an unfixable cycle. idk what to suggest to fix it at this point (aside from cracking down fr on RMT) but it made me laugh my ass off killing rubysilver fighter in a hunting trap on my dogshit ranger i never play.

Until they balance the gear, MMR should be in thr game. The gear differences are insane. I dont understand why you'd not want it. Its good for the longevity of the game unless you want a dead game in a few months, game is already dying because new players cant get started with all these juiced up players wreaking havoc everywhere.

timmies need to get over it. gear advantage is needed in the game to feel like your earning anything by farming for gear and timmies need to accept that its completely healthy if they lose a few rounds because they cant figure out how to escape.
If there is any situation where this dude can’t 1 or 2 hit his opponent, he just cries and moans. I fking hate that this is some of the only content to watch.

Yea, that MMR shit is always the worst. I'd rather have the chance of running into full teams once in a while than every god damn game like I have been since that shit was added. I wear a single purple sock into a match and I'm fighting 3 mans with legendaries.

MMR isnt really a problem. a lot of competitive games have hidden MMR and people dont even think about it. If Iron mace would balance the game, do something about the chinese gold mafia and idk make it so being a solo player isnt cancer. The game will literally sell itself.

Brad is exactly right, if you think MMR is a good thing for this game you must just be bad. Good players are going to be punished for being good and wanting to still play casually because they're going to be getting paired with the sweaty Chinese gold farmers exclusively on top of having way higher queue times. I can't just hop on with a decent kit and have fun anymore, not to mention that If I lose 2-3 good kits back to back I still have a very high MMR and get paired with sweats so It's made It incredibly difficult for me to just go in with base gear or a bad kit to farm some gold.

SBBM is bad for most people who like playing the game a lot but aren't super great. Instead of growing against the general population, the game tries to pair you against people who are going to give you an average win loss ratio. I hate sbbm in games that aren't based around a competitive ranked mode, it's like if you liked playing pick up basketball to see yourself improve and become the king of the court but there is an endless roster of players who will closely match your skill every game so you have the same win ratio as someone else who isn't as good. Great for ranked games, trash for everything else.
MMR is garbage and has killed off high skill matchmaking in every game it's touched when developers focus on balancing around the casual players and not around rewarding skill. Just take a look at Dead by Daylight for example.
Non competitive games have no reason to use MMR.
Exactly, it has no place in games not centered around a ranked competitive mode. Real life does not have SBBM, if you get good at something which was initially difficult to pick up then you stick out from the crowd and can find joy in progress instead of going from having a 50/50 win rate in bronze to having a 50/50 winrate in diamond...
Anyway if no mmr system or hard gear cap, ur game will be dead af in few months coz u guys represent maybe at most 10% of playbase when iron mace will eventually ran out of money, and they will, they are going to face two possibilities

Or ppl like me (medium to trash player base but 90% of population).
First will lead the game to its death

I gotta agree though.. having a hidden mmr system is garbage in a game like this. It’s like having SBMM in every aspect of an fps game. Why have SBMM in casual game playlists just to hold a Timmy’s hand? It’s fucking dumb. You’ll never improve because you’re constantly facing shitters. Same goes for in this game. You’ll be stuck just facing bad players or having to sweat every day forever. It’s not a good system. Never was.MMR and SBMM are garbage, they should at most only be in competitive modes.

This is not a game that benefits a mmr type system.
Anyone who thinks MMR should be in a game like this is full on delusional, you will not get gear upgrades from fighting in a MMR based system.
More casuals in the game = healthier economy. It's so painful running HR, making no gold, and only 50 people in trade chat so I can't even sell the good gear I loot.
Also, lets be real, 99% of the player base are casual noobs as seen in all of brad's pub-stomping videos. They aren't getting gear from winning out-matched fights. You and I might be able to; but you don't have a player-base of only "top % snowball players". If this means more people enjoy the game, more people looting and trading, more money to Ironmace therefor more developers and content; then I'm all for an MMR system even if I can't zero-to-hero against a lobster every 1 in 10 chance I get.
