I agree on the part If malay speak english, dikira belagak. When chinese speak in English, people would assume they are orang atasan and when Indian speaks in English people will say diorang lupa daratan tak boleh speak tamil. I think we just live in the community that too judgemental. In mean time, actually our generations just suit themselves with our surroundings which makes them who they are.
People just want the easy way to out of responsibility as a parent and feel good about themselves. Instead of acknowledging that you/your kid need to sharpen his/her English skills, the easy way out is to call out those who have performed better & label them as poyo
Failure to see beyond skin colour. Depraved mind. Race was a form of curse due to pride from our ancestors when they wanted to build the tower of Babel in order to reach God and God saw their pride and decided to confuse them by speaking different languages.
Fun fact : 1: Deborah children was born in Dublin 2: Her children never went to SMK. She send at "Sayfol International School" You don't have experience what the locals are going through & want to talk about sekolah 1 aliran? Cmon
Miss World Philippines 2007 Maggie Wilson, Batchmate of Deborah Henry also complained same thing that she felt they were like escorts when they competed in Miss World 2007 in Sanya, China.
My daughter is 6 y.o. goin to 7 y.o.. She only speaks English at the moment because she was brought up in a mix marriage home (malay+chinese) We choose to speak English at home because that’s the language we’ve been using since we were bf&gf in college. Our challenge ahead is to get our daughter to master both Chinese & Bahasa as both are her lineage. So Srjkc for primary school & Smk for high school. We choose Srjkc as her primary school because Mandarin is a tougher language to master and best to be learned at a younger age. Let’s hope for the best 🤞👍
@chriIIe That’s fine with me. Her father is a Malay who’ve had an interesting upbringing (studies & live overseas) and has different views on life. No problem there. PS: When people are open to try something different & want to accept diversity, you hit them with sarcasm? I wouldn’t be surprised if a Malay would label you Cina r4s1s.
@chriIIe it is what keeps me sane in this multicultural country we live in. Its not easy to keep everyone happy, some may favour certain ways that others but we should not stop looking for ways to improvise & work on a better solution.
I can listen to Deborah talking for hours. Agree and disagree to some her pov but this is a very positive amd crucial conversation. All in all, i think most Bangsar bubble needs to get out of your circle.

They get out of their circles more than other circles, they interact with other races/countries the most compared to other circles. You mean you want them to join your circle.
What is wrong with having choices? If you want your kid to be great at a language even if its not a national language, you should be able to have that option. At the end of the day, the choice is in your hands. (For the Malays) If you feel your kid needs to master Bahasa Arab & Islamic studies, you have the option to send them to Sekolah Agama or Tahfiz. Would you be ok if people started questioning why is ok for Tahfiz to emphasised on Bahasa Arab but disregard Mandarin and Tamil (which are more commonly spoken in Malaysia). Where is the patriotism?
She is more interested in telling Chinese people what schools to go to than her own race's education. Which speaks volumes about what kind of person she is.
Dulu tahun 2010 ke bawah, kpm ada buat program sekolah harapan negara dan sekolah kluster. Sekolah rendah aku terpilih no 1 dan kalahkan sekolah cina. Guess what happen after that? 5 tahun tu pelajar spm dan pmr ramai yg ada A padahal time aku baru start guna BI dalam semua mata pelajaran sains. Tapi apa berlaku pada sekolah cina sgt menyesakkan. Ramai sepatutnya masuk tingkatan 1, cikgu sekolah menengah dah macam cikgu tadika. Ramai sangat pelajar cina terutamanya TAK TAHU MEMBACA, BERTUTUR dalam bahasa melayu dan inggeris. Nak cakap sekolah kebangsaan tak berkualiti hakikatnya sekolah cina ada lagi teruk.cuma kebanyakan org cina akan angkat pelajar cemerlang sahaja.tapi tak dinafikan fasiliti sekolah cina terbaik.
Yes indeed Chinese school very bad, isn't that good thing for you, after all , your type always complain about lagging behind other group, now that you have the better school, you should be happy, just let the type C have the bad school...LOL
The fact you dont know what ‘Penjodoh Bilangan’ is, I know you didnt pass your NAATI test bro. At least you tried your luck to get that PR! So did you try another way? Hairdressing or perhaps Pastry Making to fulfill your minimum merit requirements? During my time (2006)I needed 120 points 😅
If vernacular schools are more hardworking, more disciplined and shows more results , why not make it the primary one instead and make sekolah kebangsaan elective , pretty simple.
The race of the student affects the results more than the school system. If vernacular schools outperform, it's not really cuz it's better, it's cuz there's a higher concentration of high-performing race(s).
Didn't say that the system doesn't matter, said the race of the student matters more. For example, Malay Singaporeans do not outperform Chinese Malaysians in national schools, even though on paper they're in a way better system.
@chriIIeit is called ratio. If a Chinese school have say 400 students taking SPM & 20 students got all A’s Versus A kampung Melayu school with 150 malay students & only 15 students got all A’s. Can I say the Chinese is the winner? Or maybe we gotta look back interms of percentage?
Cinise in "3rd world" M'sia, 20 billionaires. Malay in Singapore, "richest country in Asia" "best education system in the world," , "1st world", 0 billionaires. System is way overrated.
Im sorry dude but u gotta do some research 1st before you interview someone. You should do more research. So it will be easier for your guest and you dont look dumb.
Absolutely, you don't invite a beauty model to speak on education. Since she is so pro Kwbangsaan School, let her dressed herself up in a proper Islamic Männer, in a Burqa
Talking about real unity and claiming that a single school system is the solution? That’s an oversimplification. There’s plenty of evidence worldwide showing that unity isn’t guaranteed by having just one school system. Many nations with a single school system still struggle with divisions among their people, based on race, religion, or other factors. Even in countries where the population shares a single race, religion, and school system, people can still divide themselves into groups, and in some cases, this leads to violence. Try looking at the world today-some countries are in the midst of civil wars, while others face violence and unrest during elections. So, having a single school system for unity? That’s too simple and naive. Real unity comes from mutual respect. And respect isn’t just about tolerating others-it’s about embracing what others cherish, valuing what they treasure, and seeing the world from their perspective. This is the core principle of respect, and it’s the foundational value our ancestors upheld when they signed the agreement that led to the establishment of Malaya.
Pleaselah woman, first you say it's not your thing then you think you want to go and try, please stop lying and just say that you wanted to do it😂😂only saw ten mins of interv😂

Choice to them is wrong, if they are not the chosen ones. If they are not the chosen ones, they'd rather you have no choice.
I was hoping this episode would talk about pageantry more than other stuff. stopped halfway
Someone studied in international schools talked about why should study in kebangsaan. Talked crap hypocrites
Bryan actually sounded smart this episode 😂
Smart guys like Bryan know how to play naive & dumb to their advantage 😅
I think it’s cause of the Magic Mind he drank at the start of the podcast

Definitely due to the magic mind!

Unity is a bit of a misleading word they use. They have no interest in true unity. Dominance may be a harsh word, but more accurate.
