Al's shoe repair now that's a memory!!! I remember going to him way before he retired in the 2000s he fixed a winter horse blanket for me, sewed back on a buckle strap with his heavy duty machines, God Good ole memory 😢
WRONG , I started working @ Sears in 1993 & 25 years after that. Back then all or most store fronts were used & a very busy place. Granted due to high rent & poor maintenance the mall folded.
Wow this was filmed exactly a week after my 1st birthday and exactly a day before my cousin was born this was the year class of 2013 was born lot of 70s,80s and 90s cars on the road and I can see gas for $0.98 a gallon at 16:37

This is how I remember Michigan City. This was my junior year in high school and I was just driving. 💯

A Place I Haven’t Seen Since 2010
I was about 10 months old ! It's cool to see how things were again since I obviously barely remember anything until around 1998
So up & down Franklin twice with no view of Marquette Mall. Very disappointed. Was a major hangout in the day.
Marquette Mall was practically gone by 1994, when this video was taken.

@@daledonaldson3672I was born in 98’ and used to shop at Marquette and there were stores filled in there
@@daledonaldson3672 No way, that place was hoppin for a while even after this video was taken. I used to go there in the early 2000's.
Sad got many family members that were alive here at that time. So many losses since then 😢.
Henry George
Thanks for the video, any old videos of LaPorte?
Man I sure did like this video and the gas prices were $1.03 - $1.11 . Help me Mr. Wizard ! Take me back HOME !
@Jesse Powell the last thing I would consider myself , if I lived in Mississippi or Texas is lucky .

Grew up here during the housing crisis and after the factory was already closed. It looked so bright back then
👍 Roger’s High School, Class of 89.
Going to Carlsons today if it doesn’t rain.
I remember when MC looked like this. :)
My hometown
Burger King hasn’t changed much😂
I lived there then and they are accurate... But looking back on it now... Is it just me or does it seem like everyone had a new car then?
When you have motor plants and manufacturing right next door, a long with Money and employment, its possible...
